Good wrap. Parking is hell. But the wrap was good. I got the Caesar wrap but substituted steak. It took a while to come out, the ambience of the place is not that great, this is more of a grab and go type situation. I would get this if I was at work and on my lunch break and it was around, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it or DoorDash it. read more

We got the power açaí bowl, pitanut bowl and strawberry banana smoothie. The power açaí bowl was soupy. The pitanut bowl didn't taste like there was any peanut butter. The employee said it's not made onsite. He wouldn't give me an extra cup for the smoothie so my kids could share because of inventory. The smoothie was watery. After walking all along the La Jolla coastline, I stopped by Fresheria to obtain the first part of my girl brunch: a smoothie! In an age when Erewhon makes $20 collagen smoothies, and even less upscale spots have prices in the double digits, I was relieved to find a spot that still has them for $7-8 a pop. I got the King smoothie, which had acai, pitaya, pb, banana, spinach, and almond milk. For the price, this was a great smoothie. My only complaint was that it was a tad too sweet, and that I wish more of the acai taste came through. I loved the warm, nutty aftertaste from the pb and the almond milk as it made me savor each sip. Overall, I enjoyed my smoothie, and would definitely come back next time I am in the area and craving a smoothie. My recent experience at Fresheria was extremely disappointing and, more importantly, dangerous. I want to share this to protect other customers with allergies. Upon arriving, I clearly and explicitly informed the person who took my order that I have an allergy to I dairy after asking if a sauce that accompanied my sandwich had dairy . I explicitly told them that I have a dairy allergy. However, when my meal arrived, it contained cheese . I explain to them that I cannot eat this because it has cheese and I told you it was a dairy allergy. They did nothing about it at all. They did not take my sandwich back, remake it. My son asked them to make me a new one which I had to pay for. I've never experienced this before. I have severe stomach ache from eating there today. The service is good. The salmon salad is very good. The food came out fast and it was fresh.

The only thing good here is the smoothies. I got the salmon wrap, which was so oily and flavorless. Couldn't even pick it up to eat it without it falling apart from the sogginess. The only thing dry about the wrap was the salmon. My boyfriend got the steak and egg burrito which was very small and had a underwhelming amount of filling. I normally love this place, but this time when I went in and asked for my usual order (acai bowl with no coconut flakes, no honey, and added nutella) the guy working added peanut butter and nutella and I said "oh no I don't want peanut butter I want nutella." The guy working said that he could not put nutella on the screen and thats why he put peanut butter, but that when he was making my order he would put nutella instead of peanut butter. So I get my order to go and I go home. When I go home and open my order, there is peanut butter AND nutella on my acai and there are absolutely no granola (which is always the best part). And now that I am eating my acai bowl, it tastes like toothpaste. I know why everyone in California is thin now... The bad--the nacho cheese was the cheap, watery kind. )-: The buttermilk pancakes were slightly burnt (see pics), dry, and dense instead of fluffy like the pics on the menu. No butter sent. Tinga Sincronizada: the good--portion size. The bad--mostly tasteless. Chicken was dry. Agua Fresca d Piña: meh. Not bad. Not special. Overall, I had a lot of hope for this place. Not a fan of liquid acai bowls...or a lack of parking...or zero restrooms. I was craving some acai bowls, and my friend said she had heard of Fresheria before--although in LJ her favorite is Acai House (which I agree, looking back at it now). However, I thought...why not try someplace new? Parking was a beez to try and figure out. There are only a few spots, and there were a lot of large trucks there because the limited lot (like 6 or 7 spots total) is shared between all the businesses there. We were able to snag a spot, otherwise I think most customers would either walk there or park along another side street. I got the protein bowl because I wanted something that would fill me up. However, when I got my bowl it reminded me of pho takeout--it came in a large wide bowl and had the consistency of a soup. I liked that there was peanut butter in it, and the granola is nut-free. They only have banana and strawberry in the fruits, but I think it would've been nice to have other special ingredients like other acai places do it--cacao nibs, pomegranates, or chia seeds even! Oh well, the consistency just wasn't icy goodness and the lack of restrooms and parking space totally dissuade me from coming back again. The service was friendly and nice, and she did tell us that most customers go into the restroom across the street at El Pescador. We did that, but I think if more customers do that, they might not like it. No wifi, and the air inside was a little warm because they didn't have AC I think. They also sold other items like sandwiches, alfajores (dulce de leche cookies), and smoothies to name a few. However, the acai bowl would be a hard skip for me. read more

Parking - VERY small lot with only a handful of parking spots. Food - Mediocore Service - Below par. I ordered two dishes - no where on the menu did it state that the dishes were spicy. BOTH dishes were spicy. I felt inclined to order a third dish because I could not handle the spiciness so I went up to the counter and politely asked the cashier how can I tell if the dishes are spicy or not and she very rudely responded that it would note it on the menu. I showed her that I ordered the Oliver and no where on the menu did it state that it was spicy. She looked at it and without an apology for her inaccuracy and the misleading menu - she blatantly told me the roasted tomatoes were spicy - but again, on the menu it did NOT state that. Overall, I would not recommend dining here. I had a hunch as soon as I walked in and the restaurant was empty. I should have followed my instincts. read more
