Terrible Experience at Dr. Juice (La Jolla) I had one of the worst customer experiences ever at this place. I ordered two juices and was given two completely different ones from what I paid for. When I politely pointed out the mistake, the person behind the counter became extremely rude and disrespectful, even using bad language and telling me to "get lost" instead of simply fixing their mistake. I couldn't believe how unprofessional and aggressive he was. I paid for something I didn't get, and instead of taking responsibility, he yelled at me. After seeing so many negative reviews about this place, I should have listened -- now I completely understand why they have such poor ratings. I'll never go back, and I'd strongly recommend avoiding this place. There are plenty of juice spots in La Jolla that actually care about their customers. I wish there was zero star read more

There are so many wonderful and authentic juice shops in the village, all easily within walking distance. Stopped in to see if I could just have celery juice. They say you can have celery juice with any other fruit or veggie just not by itself. I asked why, and the answer?....they use organic celery and it's too expensive to just juice celery. Doesn't matter that they have other juice probably just as expensive to juice. I would know since I juice celery at home every day. I just happen to be on a road trip and unable to juice while traveling. Have never been told no to just celery. Terrible first impression. Way too sweet for a "natural" smoothie . We went there craving something healthy and refreshing. We ordered 2 fruit and kale smoothie. I asked fruit only right? Meaning no added sugar and lady at the counter said "yes" my husband had 2 sips and and threw away a $9 smoothie, syrupy sweet!!! Wow! The smoothies were DELICIOUS! My kids usually have a hard time finishing their smoothies... but, HERE, they finished their drinks to the last slurp! The owners were great to talk to. They told us that they've been around for 20 years! They also mentioned that they get the fruits & veggies fresh every morning. Their orange juice is freshly squeezed every morning. I got two Safari Cass juices at the recommendation of the woman at the counter who said that the blend is great for colds/flu. It has beets, celery, ginger, apple, etc. I asked for a bit of ice as well since it was a hot day. Juices were good though the beet and celery overpowered any fruit. Not at all sweet but we were drinking for health and not taste. Medium size was $6.50 and pretty much the price I would expect to pay for fresh juice. I couldn't justify getting Bobboi twice in one visit so I opted for Dr. Juice next door after walking up from the cove and needed something refreshing. Got some custom blend of peaches, mangos, and strawberries and the only memorable thing about it was that it was surprisingly really sweet. When I asked my girlfriend to guess the blend of the juice she thought I had asked for something with artificial orange juice. When I asked for some water to wash down the juice, the owner told me she couldn't give me water due to sanitary reasons... (isn't this the water going into the juices?) I just had a run in with the owner Rick. He was beginning to prepare smoothies for my children without a mask on. I politely told him to please put on his mask and he didn't. I then reminded him again and said "please put on your mask or cancel my order" and he said fine cancel the order and we proceeded to get into an altercation about why he wouldn't make our smoothies with his mask on and refused to make them. He was rude and made my kids cry because he refused us. Never frequent this business. I bought a green juice from here and brought it back because it tasted like one of the vegetables in it had gone bad or something. I asked if they could make me a new one and they said no, because everything they use is fresh. I told them I believe them because the sandwich and açaí bowl we just ate from their was good, but one of the vegetables in the juice had definitely gone bad. Rather than offering to make me a new one which is what most places would do to maintain a high level of customer service, they got defensive and told me they couldn't do anything, even though I spent close $25 dollar there. I feel like most other places would offer to make something so that the customer would be pleased with the experience, so I was really surprised when they didn't offer to do anything. This place is super convenient and located right on Girard aven. You just grab your smoothie and off you go to enjoy a nice ocean front stroll. I must say the place in need of some major remodeling but on another hand maybe that's why their prices are still very moderate, $5 bucks for large size smoothie (or i think its only have one size). The drink menu is pretty extensive, you can also build your own smoothie from list of ingredients. I noticed they don't really use any frozen fruit which is a big plus. read more

On vacation with my boyfriend and stumbled upon this small juice shop. Im a very big fan of juices.. but this place disappointed me more than the typical Nectar or Robeks. FIRST OF ALL.. NO GREENS!!!! :( I was disappointed when I looked at their menu. What juice place doesnt carry greens D; Anywho..
