The theatre itself is amazing. Great old Seattle nostalgic concert days reminds me of Alice and Chains and Phantom of the Opera. Why Nick it a star? The bathroom scene and the crowded areas in general are poorly directed and the lines are incredibly long. You have to wait about 15 minutes just to get to the bathroom. It's a good place to see a boy so popular show. Air conditioning in these old buildings is worthless. Once you get inside on a popular show on a hot day get ready to Shake and bake!! read more

It's a beautiful building inside. I love all the decor and the ambiance. I sat in the farthest section up. You have to go up 3 flights of stairs. Once you get to your section, you go up a few more stairs. There are no handles of any type in this area. It can be hard to walk up in this area. I sat with a bar in front of me (instead of seats). I chose this because I thought it would be better to not have people in front of me. However, there is much less leg room than other seats. It was very uncomfortable. I would not sit in a seat like that again. All the ushers and security people were very nice and helpful. read more

I have been to the Paramount twice for musicals and it is a nice theater! The seats are pretty comfy but, as with most theaters, very close together. The view and sound have always been good despite us not being close to the stage. I did have trouble finding a bathroom but, to be honest, was a bit turned around and found one in the end. We have also opted to pre pay for parking as well and, although we had difficulty finding it at first, liked knowing we had a secure and guaranteed spot. There is NO reception in the garage though so I would recommend pulling up the parking "ticket" while on the street if it is on your phone. read more

The Paramount is a beautiful, historic theater in downtown Seattle. I've only ever come here to see touring Broadway shows but I know it hosts other types of shows and artists. The theater's interior itself is absolutely stunning and I always love to wander around during intermission or before the show if I have time. Every production I've been to has been wonderful and of high quality. My one gripe is that, for a theater of its size, it doesn't manage lines very well. Getting into the theater can take forever, because some people are holding up the metal detector line. And don't get me started on the bathroom situation during intermission. So bottom line: use the bathroom before and leave all unnecessary metal objects at home and you'll help the line situation! read more

This is a very beautiful older theatre with an interior that you'd be hard pressed not to love. Unfortunately, the Hasan Minhaj show we went to see was filming for Netflix so we didn't have access to our phones for interior photos. While the show was hilarious, the experience within the theatre itself wasn't great. The old seats were unbelievably uncomfortable. Both my wife's and mine had patchy cushioning with abrasive springs jabbing into us. I ended up putting my jacket down on the seat and sitting on top of it since the seat discomfort was so distracting. The layout of the seating also doesn't make a great deal of sense, at least for viewing a one-man show like this. On the main level there is very little rise between rows and many of the seats are set directly behind the one in front (rather than offset) and since the stage is somewhat lower than mid-range seating, even if the person in front of you is shorter than you are, you still struggle to get a decent view around their head. This probably added to the discomfort. While they do enforce the proof of vaccination requirement to go into the theatre, there was no enforcement of mask-wearing once inside. read more

So we have been here several times for either Broadway shows, concerts, or stand up comedians. Every time has been a memorable experience! Love this place!! The venue here can only be as good as its staff, and I was pleased to see and converse with folks from the bar, to the greeters, and to the ushers. They were cordial, professional, and extremely helpful. We came here to see the production of Frozen. Wow!! I was absolutely floored by their level of talent for this performance. The stage captivated all the Special Effects just perfectly! We sat in the 2nd row from the edge of the balcony, and the view was top notch! We had ordered a few drinks, and they were very flavorful, which was even more enhanced with a special cup where every drink thereafter is only $3... take the deal Peoples! The sound was harmoniously orgasmic to the ear holes... at least to my ear holes!! I don't typically hand out 5 star ratings, but this little historic piece of vintage Seattle is so deserving of it. My new favorite place to spend my Friday evenings! A gorgeous iconic theatre in the downtown area that is comparable to the impressive theatres of Manhattan's Broadway. Being a self proclaimed broadway snob, I've been to a handful of shows in NYC and was a little skeptical of what the theatre and venue would be like here in the Pacific Northwest. When I got to the theatre, I was floored. The high walls and ceilings make you feel like you're in a beautiful palace and waltzing around the many floors, you can also feel like a celebrity out of the town. We watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which was super entertaining but a little difficult to hear the speech between the actors given our seating high up in the mezzanine. There are booster seats available at the theatre at you pick up at the entry way of the door. While the booster seats were comfortable and nice, it created a little bit of an issue as if the person in front of you had one, you also were forced to use one to be able to see the stage. This venue is so charming and iconic, I highly recommend everybody who is in the Seattle area, or visiting stop by to watch a show here. read more

The Paramount Theatre is one of two premier live performance theatre venues in Seattle. Beautifully decorated and maintained, its golden walls yield excellent acoustics. The Paramount is primarily known for hosting the Broadway across America musicals. They are also a venue for concerts, comedy, and other live performances. I saw Sting and Peter Gabriel here, and it was beyond fantastic in this location. Their official website is stg.com to look for tickets. Being in downtown Seattle, parking is easiest in lots. Otherwise, there is a limited amount of street parking. The nearest bigger lot is 7th and Pike. Food and drinks are limited as expected and a tad pricier. I've come this theater several times to mainly enjoy musicals. What I haven't noticed until today was how beautiful this theater is, gorgeous chandeliers and wall art. I could see more of the art better from our upstairs seats tonight. The musical was fantastic! Ive seen mini Lion King at Animal Kingdom in Orlando but the musical tonight was obviously a lot more details and performance. Can't compare with 2.5 hours long with lots of music & dance and amazing visuals. The costumes they had on were probably the most impressive. Don't know how they came up with. Imagination, technologies and most definitely people's expertise and effort! It's 4 stars because everything was great but the seats.. they are pretty small you can touch the arms of someone sitting next to you. Cushion was not comfy neither. Classy ornate theatre with lots of architecture and older materials. We saw Jagged Little Pill. The show was impressive. The theatre was nice enough but dated in some ways. Visibility was poor and legs very cramped because the rows are so close together. There are no elevators and bathrooms are not on every level. There are no railings in sections The acoustics seem bass heavy. We had a nice time here but could have been a lot more comfortable elsewhere. read more

This theater is really pretty but I've seen two events here...one was Wicked and the most recent was Kevin James. Our seats were pretty high up for both and are really uncomfortable. There is no leg room and I'm short! My knees were hurting so I can't imagine taller people. And the sound is just not good. It's muffled or distorted or something, making it difficult to understand the words that were spoken or being sung. I wish there was a better venue for amazing events like these in Seattle! read more

My wife and I finally decided to purchase season tickets for 2018-2019. We chose the Traditional Package for $930. Our package includes seven shows, discounted parking in the 7th & Pike garage and a discounted restaurant card. Inside is beautiful. Bathrooms are located on each level. Bars are also located on each level. Doors open 1 hour before showing. Seating opens 30 minutes before showing. Outside food and drink cannot be brought in; however, both can be purchased at the bars. A reusable concert cup ($3) is required in order to take beverages into the seating area. A pour of Merlot was $10 and a 12oz pour of beer was $7. Visa and MasterCard are accepted forms of payment. Our seats are located on the second mezzanine. We were both able to clearly see as well as hear our first show (The Color Purple). The seats are on the smaller side so I had to sit my handbag in my lap. The aisles are narrow as well which may make taller people uncomfortable. There is about a 20 minute intermission during the show. During this time, all the bathrooms had extremely long lines. Staff members were located inside as well as outside to help direct the flow of traffic. With their assistance, I was impressed with how quickly the lines went. Nicely organized Paramount! Staff members were all friendly and extremely helpful with any questions posed their way. We are both pleased with our purchase and look forward to our future shows. read more

We came here to watch Lauren Daigle's "Look Up Child Tour" on Valentines day. I love the classical feel of the interior, amazing architecture and historical building. The staff were all very helpful and will direct you where to go. The only complaint I have is the seats are cramped, not enough leg room but overall me and my husband had a great time. It's a mixed bag for me. While loving their sound system and music venues, I found their staff to be rude, loud and abrasive. I would even go as far to say some of their staff bordered on being thuggish. As an example, there was at least 100 people waiting to go to the bathroom after the show, while you had their hired goons screaming at people to leave, yes screaming!! It seriously put a dark cloud on an otherwise pleasant experience. I don't experience this rudeness at McCaw Hall or @ ACT - A Contemporary Theatre. read more

We waited in line for 2hrs for Alec Benjamin because the worker said we were supposed to be in that line, then another worker said we were in the wrong line and meant to be in the general admission line even though we have assigned seats but general admission means you don't have assigned seats and it's first come first serve so we had to go wait another like 3 hours the 1000 person in line to get in the workers here need to figure it out because we could have been first in line read more

Don't be fooled by the small building perched on the corner. The theater is quite large with multiple mezzanines and beautiful decor. The entry process was quick and easy, although the employee scanning tickets looked at my friend and I and made some comment about it not being Halloween anymore, which was confusing since we were both dressed quite normally (raincoats and jeans), so not sure what that was. We also ordered drinks at the bar and they poured them into the $3 plastic cups that we thought were optional - there were signs saying "Get a reusable cup for $3!" - so our $9 drinks were actually $12. We ended up not using our parking passes, but the parking garage is not actually attached to the theater, it's a few blocks away. Overall it was a good experience and I'd see a show there again. read more

This review is specifically evaluating the Paramount as a venue for a rock concert. I attended a Slash/Myles Kennedy concert and purchased an excellent ticket. The acoustics were horrific, and many of the vocals and instrumental pieces were muffled. The bar was crowded, lines ridiculous, and the staff disrespectful and surly. I'm no youngster, and to take an aggressive tude with someone my age, you must have emotional issues. I will hesitate to attend a concert at the Paramount in the future. read more

I was in Seattle for a meeting and saw that Bernadette Peters was doing a show....great coincidence! Being from Chicago, this venue closely resembles the Chicago Theater: an old fancy looking (when the lights are dim) movies house with a lot of superficial baroque trimmings and chandeliers. Unlike the Chicago theater they had helpful ushers, fast and secure COVIC check, reasonable waits for drinks (which did cost a lot to get in a cup to go: over $20). The seats were comfortable and the sound system was decent for the small ensemble, they adjusted the balance since she was buried at first. Hard to believe she has so gracefully aged and it was a nice nostalgic trip. read more

One of the most beautiful event venues I've ever been to. The architecture is amazingly preserved. I went there to see Bill Maher who was great. Just as expected. Unfortunately I was about 20 minutes late trying to find parking and the bar was closed so I was super dehydrated from running a quarter mile from our parking garage. I was disappointed to learn that the "bar" had a closed sign for the remainder of the event. My seat was mezzanine so it was 3 stories up while the bathrooms were 2 flights below ground level. I was rushed out of the place as soon as the event was over but I could just stare at the architecture alone all evening. It really is a beautiful theater. I wish they at least sold event swag afterwards but they did not read more

Getting back to the car is bottle-necked at the gate... they don't have enough people to prevent pedestrians flooding down the up-ramp, wile they try to make you queue on the street for a slow elevator. Still the same old classic feel. Last month we went and saw Hamilton. What a show! When the doors had first opened to be honest I kinda felt like a sardine trying to get into the place. However, once you are sat and comfortable you slip right into the atmosphere. Center seats closer to the front are the better choice in my opinion, but we were only able to score 2 seats in the far right. Old regal feel and classic seats. My girl really enjoyed this for date night! I will never forget my first time at the Paramount Theater, it felt so grand and huge. My grandparents had taken me to see the nut cracker as a Christmas gift. We sat way in the back on the 2nd floor, I could hardly see but it was still a fun experience. read more

The theatre itself is gorgeous. But, unless you like looking at the back of someone's head instead of the show that is playing. I would suggest booking at another venue. The slope of the floor is so minimal, it doesn't really matter what seat you are in, you can only see the back of the person's head in front of you. My neck is always sore for craning around to see what is happening. I have paid more than 100 per show to have to do this and frankly, I am tired of it. Yesterday, for the show "Wicked" I went and got a kids booster seat so I could see. The seats are super small as well. They let people continue coming in late, even into the third song/act. This is so disruptive! I had people standing in the aisle talking, trying to find their seats 20 minutes into the show. This is ridiculous. It was also very cold in the theatre - everyone around me was talking about how cold it was. Thankfully I brought a sweater. We were in row HH yesterday and were too far back to see expressions on characters faces which really detracted from the show. I wouldn't suggest a show here unless you are in the first few rows. They need to update the seating arrangements/chairs before I will come back again. read more

Nice charming older theater that could do with some serious upgrade/remodeling. We sat in the front row of one of several Mezzanines and the seats were not comfortable at all nor did they have sufficient leg room. Even my 5'7" frame had serious issues with my knees constantly pressed against the short wall in front of us. This would be a last resort for me to attend an event but unfortunately sometimes it is the only place in town. Suffice it to say I'll be very picky about what and who I see in the future at this venue. read more

This theater is a beautiful space to enjoy the arts, however I have found the Paramount Club experience to be very disappointing. The problem lies in the lack of access to the lounge due to the narrow staircases that lead downstairs which are also where the bathrooms are located. In my experience, getting to the lounge is problematic because folks in the bathroom line tend to think you're jumping the queue and make it really unpleasant to make your way down to the lounge. Once you get there, the space is usually over filled and there is not enough food or seating to make it feel special at all. Additionally, the food served is often subpar and they never refill anything despite the crowd. read more

Totally unexpected yesterday afternoon, a co-worker asked whether I'd be interested in accompanying her to see "An American in Paris" at the Paramount Theater. Rare opportunity to see a live musical and see the venue's renovations from 1995. Despite being a classic Friday evening commute southbound into downtown Seattle, traffic was merciful and we were able to snag a nearby parking spot at an Impark Lot (4 hours for $10, but good until 2am - great if you want to checkout late night dining options)! Once inside, two things that struck me were all the food/beverage venues on every floor and the opulent chandeliers. I immediately felt underdressed, but thankfully on such a cool, rainy evening the NW layers mingled with evening dresses and suits. Prior to the 8pm performance of "An American in Paris", a choral group from Portland, OR sang a few songs from one of the main lobby's stairwell. Finally, once past the helpful ushers with theater program in hand, we found our seats. Wow terrific view of the stage! Acoustics on point. Really enjoyed the 2 1/2 hour show with one intermission....song, dance, costume, and especially enjoyed the seamless set design that also incorporated animation. Knocked off one star for the seating. I have shorter legs, but felt cramped like on an airplane despite taking the aisle seat. Felt bad for the tall man behind me who kept stetching his left leg out. Thank goodness for the intermission! Overall lovely evening to end the work week and start Mother's Day weekend. Even ran into another former colleague in the throng departing the Paramount Theater. The three most important words of this review are: Wine Sippy Cups. Need I go on? To elaborate, this theatre has some pretty fantastic musicals which are made even more fantastic by the fact that they sell their wine in sippy cups and you can take them in with you! We've seen Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera here, both were excellent. Great costumes, excellent musical talent, pretty decent seats available throughout the theatre. The male lead for Phantom was truly incredible, I still walk around singing Angel of the Night as people walk by me and the husband pretends he doesn't know me. Not only does this place put on a great show, but it is beautiful inside. It has two concession stand locations to help with lines at intermission which are usually pretty long still, but not as bad as the bathroom line. They have a good variety of wine and other beverages available at the concession stands before and at intermission. Buying my girls a round of wine sippy cups and a chocolate bar stands as one of the most influential moments of our friendship. You can also bring them back with you to every show you attend. They are also handy at home for measuring how drunk the husband thinks I am, if he hands me the sippy cup I know I'm getting cut off. Between the beautiful facility, great selection of musicals, and relatively reasonable ticket prices, this makes for a fun date night or a night out with friends. read more

We went to see Hamilton at the Paramount Theater and had someone in our party with mobility issues. The staff were fantastic and helped us make sure they were able to enter early and easily find and use the ADA restroom. The cast and performance were bucket list fantastic and so worth the special trip from Alaska just to see it. I highly recommend this theater and their staff and the production!!!! read more

If you have a short torso, be careful when choosing seats further back, especially on the mezzanine. I would suggest you pick like the first row of the section to ensure no one is blocking your view. I sat in the back row of our section during a show and had to keep moving as everyone sat forward also trying to overlook everyone else. The theater is lovely to look at and the workers are friendly to approach. Navigating to the theater is no issue via the Link Light Rail. Overall, this is a beautiful theater. But like with any theater, there will be issues with bathroom queuing and feeling like a sardine once the show lets out. So do your business early and wait a little after the show gets out to avoid being squished :) read more
