It took the staff 30 minutes to come take our order and we had to ask for water which again took more than 10 minutes. We ordered mutton paratha, gobhi paratha and chicken seekh kabab. Their Yelp page said if you check in, you'll get a free dessert - we did that and the server said 'Ye kya hai?' (Translation: What is this?) and that I will have to check with the manager first. Very bad delivery service.. first they don't deliver food for an hour or more and on top when i opened my delivery bag, there were no utensils. I called to inform them about utensils and they argued that you have to request utensils & napkins. We heard a lot about the food here. But we were disappointed. Not going here again. The Parathas were extremely oily. We had to borrow paper napkins to absorb the oil from the parathas. The paneer burji was unsatisfactory. The dal lacked salt. It took 35 minutes for the food to arrive. The restaurant was 10% occupied. We also heard the chef 'aunty' shouting and screaming in the kitchen, which is when the waiter increased the volume of the music. This place is a no go for us definitely. read more

Delivery was prompt and delivery guy was super nice. I ordered chicken tandoori and samosas. Food is most definitely authentic and ingredients cant get anymore fresher than this. I was hesitant at first to try it but glad i did. The Samosas which is the right crisp when you bite it and the potatoes and other ingredients mixed with it is just heaven esp when mixed with the green sauce! Its what i look forward to everytime. Once consumed Indian food begins to dance in my stomach like a Bollywood movie and the motions come and go, consistent with Bollywood dance scenes. Yikes. So I stay away from it. Also, the spices tend to permeate my clothes and I like my scent to be curry-free so that's that. But I will make an exception for Paratha Junction. Why, you ask again? First I blame my boyfriend who has shown me not all Indian food is the reason TUMS are still very popular. Also, Because this is the first time Indian food doesn't create a Holi day festival in my intestines. And lastly their lamb curry (with extra lamb please!) tends to make me happy dance rather than make my stomach involuntarily dance. You know what I'm saying? Everything I have tried here is rather tasty. From the chicken biryani, Chicken tikka Masala, Chaats and stuffed parathas. Great flavor. However, Be wary of the curries and the meat to sauce ratio. And order of a chicken dish will maybe have about 5 small pieces of chicken swimming in its gravy. And The Rice is never enough. The Best part about this place is that it is open 24/7. I would say paratha junction as loot junction. Please go thru the bill before you pay. You could see some unexpected and uninformed extra charges. Extra 2 dollars for 10 ml raitha. When asked, they replied I might get charged for pickle too. It is thier DAYA and KRUPA that I got a spoon of pickle free on order of paratha. Thanks for the kind gesture. Went for stuff paratha hoping for a good experience. Unfortunately this would be the last visit to paratha junction. They gave raita with paratha and was similar to water, it wasn't thick as it should be. Told the cashier that it's like water he replies "Oh person who makes raita mistakenly added more salt to it that's why it's like water". My question is than why would you even serve to customer. After saying that he started smiling, what kind of Hospitality is this? They definitely needs to be better trained on customer recovery. This is just a small situation and could have been easily taken care...but I guess they would rather lose a customer than recover it. And if you can't afford to play continuous music than don't play it. Because it's better not to, than to play music which pauses ever few seconds. read more

Been a fan of PJ since more than 2 years. Pros: Nice food. Definitely reminds of the food I used to eat back home (India). They will make it as spicy as you want. They are open very very late! Paratha Junction used to be one of the only consistently good restaurants on Newark Ave where the food tasted fresh and not like it came out of that infamous wholesale bucket curry service. This was always the case when we went there for lunch on the weekends- the railway chicken curry, the assortment of delicious parathas, the seafood dishes, the chat were all perfectly prepared and yummy! Recently though, over the past year, I've found that the food doesn't taste fresh anymore- the chicken in the curries has a day old feel. I cook and eat chicken often so I know when it's come out of the fridge from yesterday, and I'm not paying someone for their stale food, I have a ton of my own. The fish has practically disintegrated in the curry, the accompanying basmati rice is stiff and dry, exactly how rice tastes when it's been left out for a few hours without a lid or it's been in the fridge, and it's a lot worse when you order takeout at night! Atleast the parathas and roti's are fresh, and the service still good! Needless to say, I don't go here anymore, but hope they get back to being as good as they once were! read more

It's open late night so a late dinner is totally accessible. Service is friendly and diligent as they replaced our waters frequently. The selection has a great variety to choose from you won't be cornered into choosing just curry! The spice levels will get you if you're not a fan of spicy food - this is pretty much authentic Indian food! Their samosas and sauces are delicious! Their naan is good and fluffy!
