They made special accommodations for my older guy so he could have a peaceful stay away from the wild puppies. We have been using Villa La Paws for 8 years now, started with the day care with the privious owners who were great too. Now we use the grooming, day care & boarding. The groomers are great, she always lets me know what we need to watch out for and gives great advise, after 8 years she knows my dogs well. We always feel comfortable leaving them in Villa La Paws hands, that is very important to us. My golden retriever started at Paws Bell Rd when she was 7 months old; she is now 4 1/2. In the mornings when she realizes where we are going she gets very excited and can hardly wait to get out of the car to go in and visit with everyone as well as play with all her 4-legged and 2-legged (Denise, Christine, Chris, etc.) friends. We use the groomers (Laura & Cindy) exclusively as they always do a fabulous job. My gal comes home looking, smelling and feeling great. Paws is the only place where I feel confident to leave her overnight. The cage free environment for both daycare and boarding, to me, is the only way to go. It teaches and reinforces socialization. This place may be ok for large outdoor dogs, but don't think about taking your small dog here. My 10 lb Shih Tzu was supposed to be inside in the small dog room. He was put outside with BIG dogs. The outside camera's are useless. You can barely see. I only saw one person during the week I was gone on the cam in the yard with the dogs, and there were 25 or more dogs together in the yard! Big and very small. My dog has never smelled so horrible in his whole life when I came to get him. I gagged the whole two hour drive home! They lost his bed because another dog peed on it. So, it was in the wash somewhere...? She did not want to take the time to find it while I waited. I was told they would mail it to me. I sent an email from Mexico to Elizabeth Ryan about my concerns. She said she would view the cam tapes and get back to me. That was 9 days ago. The building was too hot inside as well. No air conditioning in AZ? Crazy... I also was not allowed to view the yard my dog would go in. She showed me the empty room that he would never be in. RED FLAG!!!!! If i had time to change places before my departure, I would have. I've never worried so much about my dog on vacation before. My dog was very stressed when I returned. I felt awful for leaving him there. But he lived. That's a good thing. read more

We've been taking our 2 dogs, Sunny and Patches, to Villa La Paws for almost 4 years now and they love it. At home, if we just bring up the word, "daycare," our 2 pups get uber excited and are ready to head out to play with their doggy friends and the care takers. We can tell they enjoy it because they excitedly go towards the caretakers when we get there. Also, I love that when we do kennel them, they aren't stuck in cages. I left my dog with Villa La Paws on Bell Rd over Christmas weekend. First of all, they go through an evaluation to ensure that your dog will get along with the other dogs before they even accept your business which I think is great; very comforting considering my pup is only 3 months old. When I arrived to pick him up after 3 days, I could see he developed strong relationships with all the employees and all the dogs as well. Everyone was ridiculously friendly and you can tell that they really love their job. They also have webcams in everyone room that allow you to see how your dog is doing when you're away. Every time I viewed the webcams there was an employee in the room, which showed how much attention and work they put into these dogs. I highly recommend this place for boarding your dog. I don't even travel that much, but I feel like I need to bring him back because he loved it so much! read more

I recently started working away from home and needed to find a place where Bongo could play. He has always had play mates but in the recent past they have all moved away. An employee at Knight Transportation recommended that I visit Villa Law Paws which is located right off the 51 on my way to and from work. I called them and they allowed me to bring him in during the busy Fourth of July weekend for an assessment. He passed and was able to stay up to 6 hours for free! We went to dinner and picked him up three hours later. He was unharmed and very tired. I am pleased with the customer service and the straight forward pricing. I am looking forward to trying out their salon for his hair cut in a few weeks. One stop for all his needs! I love that I can watch him play while I am at work! read more

I have been taking my Great Dane to Villa la Paws for over a year now and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I love the concept of it being cage free so my dog can play and social with the other dogs all day long. We LOVE this place!!! We have been taking our dog, ACE, here for a while and he loves it. I have researched and tried plenty of doggie day cares since ACE is our first dog and after finding Villa la Paws we will never go another place again. Their staff is amazing. Knows every ones dog by name and gets just as excited to see your dog as your dog is to see them. Now I s in a previous review that their dog was outside in the heat but you have to understand they have it all figured out. Yes, It is hot outside but they have industrial fans, misters, swim pools scattered, and shade structures everywhere. It is pretty much a water park for dogs and i do not think there is a dog in there that would complain. Overall, This place has it all figured out on how to keep your dog and yourself happy. This review is for the location at 2734 W. Bell Road. I am so happy and relieved to have found such a wonderful establishment. I have had a bad experience with dog boarding in the past, so I was very leery to leave my dog with any boarders. I couldn't be happier with Villa La Paws. The staff is friendly and professional. (They are the kind of dog lovers like me...they greet the dog before the person ;) It is a relief to watch my dog on the webcam as he plays with the other dogs and gets petted by the trainer who is always present in the play areas outside. He slept in the "Couch Potato", curled up on a mat next to another large dog. Each dog must go in for an evaluation before their first visit. They meet the other dogs and staff watches their interactions for about 10 minutes. I think that's a great idea and it protects everyone (our dogs, the staff, and dogowners). I have an eight month old puppy who has been coming here for about three months for daycare, grooming and slumber parties (overnights). He gets excited when he knows where he's going and wags, wags, wags. The staff not only has good doggy skills but good people skills, too. They recognize my puppy as soon as they see him and greet him by name (even if I haven't made a reservation). After a full day, he comes home exhausted and sleeps for the rest of the evening so I know he's had a lot of playtime while he's there. He's been groomed twice so far by VLP groomers and he looks and smells great afterwards. They groom him exactly as I ask them to. He's stayed overnight a few times, and comes home a happy clam. My dog, Kasey, loves coming to Villa la Paws for daycare! Whenever I drop her off, she is always super excited to see the staff and other dogs. I've also used Villa la Paws for boarding and grooming and are equally pleased with those services. Kasey has tried several other daycares around Scottsdale but this one is definitely the best! The biggest pluses for me as a pet parent is the totally cage-free environment, webcams that I can access 24/7 on my computer or smartphone, great hours, and the fact that my dog gets to spend time in both outside and inside play yards. On yeah, and the pricing is very competitive as well! Additionally, I've noticed a positive difference in her behavior-she used to be very shy around strangers and other dogs but now she is way more trusting and outgoing! I can't say enough great things about Villa La Paws. We never feel bad about heading out of town and leaving our dogs behind - they absolutely love this place. It's fabulous for both overnight boarding and doggy day care. We appreciate that there is no crating/kenneling here and that the dogs get ample time to play outside. We've been other places in the Phoenix area where they are either caged for the vast majority of the time or never leave the building. Here, the dogs are in a cage free environment and get ample time to play inside and outside. They dogs are always monitored by a person and after years of coming here, we've never had a problem with another dog. They screen for agression and we've never had a concern. In addition, you can always monitor your dogs via the webcams at any time of the day. The staff here is fabulous. We tend to drop our dogs off at the last minute and they always take us and greet us (okay, the dogs) by name. Once, we had a death in the family late Thanksgiving night and called Villa at 10 pm that night. We left a voicemail stating our family emergency, that we had a flight out the next morning before they were open, and was there anyway we could bring in the pups before they were technically open. We got a phone call back in 30 minutes and were able to swing by early the next morning. We were blown away by this exceptional customer service. Our pups always come home happy and exhausted from either a day or an extended stay there. We are so grateful to have found a place all of us love. Thanks Paws - you are amazing! read more

I recently took my dog there around Thanksgiving! We thought we had an appointment scheduled but for some reason it was not showing up. Instead of turning us away they were very accommodating and met our every need. My dog seemed to love it there, which I was able to watch her live everyday day through an app they have. I don't crate my dogs at our house so they would be miserable and confused if they were caged while their family was away. This is an awesome place! I brought my new boxer rescue pup Sam here shortly after getting her. I had a trip planned and didn't know where to take her. I had to board her for 3 nights and was really scared to leave her. I did not know how she would do with other dogs and everyone there made me feel real comfortable in leaving her after meeting her for a couple of hours. I had the ability to see her on camera and was so happy to see her hanging out with other dogs. When I picked her up she was exhausted from having so much fun. I have a Great Pyrenees who is a rescue dog. I've been having him groomed at Villa Law Paws, and they always do a wonderful job on him. I have always wanted to get his coat shaved down in the summer (even tho some experts advise against it), but he would never allow a groomer to get anywhere near him with the electric clippers. I took him in last weekend, and the wonderful groomers at Villa La Paws managed to get my big boy completely shaved down, and we are all so happy!! Signed up for obiedence class After the three week of nothing but target training and hearing stories from the trainer how wonderful she was, my dog and I dropped out of the classes. I recently took my Great Pyrenees to be groomed at Villa la Paws. They did a fantastic job on him - he looks and feels like a giant angora rabbit!! He's a very sweet dog, but he is still rather a handful when it comes to grooming due to his size and the great amount of fur.
