What an incredible culinary discovery of this dine site - quant, rustic, unpretentious, the food was outstanding, rivaling our favorite Italian dine sites in Chicago, even New York City. We could not have imagined such a delightful dinner, in a rustic Tuscan Mediterranean setting, with such extraordinary imaginative and thoughtfully prepared dishes. From the "Start the Table" appetizers we ordered the Bruschetta Board - Crostini Bread with Three Flavors - Margherita, Ricatta Honey and Pesto - three different preparations of bread and toppings - all were delicious, and the Fried Ravioli with Marinera, Alfredo and Pesto Sausage - both were artfully presented and delicious, albeit the portions were small. For Main Course entrees we ordered the Baked Pasta - from the menu - choice of two types of pasta, penne or spaghetti, and choice of five preparations Marinara, Vodka, Alfreda, Bolognese or Pesto, and choice of addition of one of four meats, steak, meatballs, Shrimp or chicken. And the Penne, Pesto and Steak, while Stan and I both ordered the Spaghetti, Bolognese and Meatballs. Both selections were extraordinary, artfully presented, delicious and ample proportions. Not impressed and definitely not worth the price point. The menu is set up where you have to order everything individually which makes your meal get expensive very quickly. Typically, an Italian restaurant comes with some kind of complementary bread service and a choice of soup or salad with your entree. There is no bread service unless you order and pay for it. If you want soup or salad, you have to order it separately from your meal. If you order an entree such as fish or chicken, it does not come with sides, you have to order those separately. If the food was really good, I'd have no problem doing this and having a larger than normal check, but the food isn't very good. I've been to other restaurants that do this (i.e. Boilerhouse) and have no problem with this as the quality of their meals, ambiance, and service make it worth the price. Not so for Paretta's. We started with an appetizer, calamari. It was good. Not the best, but no major complaints with that. We each ordered a half salad. It was a nice size, but the croutons were chewy. I've read other reviews that state the same thing so apparently it's an issue they're choosing not to correct. We each ordered a pasta dish. When the server brought them out, she asked if we would like additional parmesan on top. We both said yes. She returned with individual small ramekins with shredded parm. What kind of italian restaurant doesn't invest in a grater and freshly grate the parm at your table!? They must not use fresh parm and just have bagged parm. My Mom ordered the sausage pesto pasta. It arrived and it wasn't even the slightest bit green to indicate it was a pesto dish. Upon tasting it, it did have a hint of pesto flavor. Just looking at it, it was VERY oily and tasted oily. I feel like they watered down the pesto with cheap olive oil to make it stretch. Mom only had a few bites. I ordered the alfredo. It arrived and was made with penne. Huh? Alfredo is traditionally served with fettuccine noodles. Their menu does not indicate what kind of pasta is served with their pasta dishes so I wasn't expecting something other than fettuccine noodles. As for flavor, the alfredo was very salty. Not a lot of ambiance. The radio from the kitchen was blaring so we listened to classic rock while dining in an Italian restaurant. I wouldn't go back. Unfortunately, our experience here was disappointing, especially considering the price. The first impression should have been a warning sign. The hostess is the first point of contact when you walk into a restaurant, but there was no friendly greeting, no smile, and not even a "welcome." Hospitality starts at the front door, and that was missing. We also noticed three tables sitting uncleared. When a restaurant isn't extremely busy, everyone should be helping keep the dining room clean and welcoming, especially when new customers are walking in. The food was just so-so. The lemon salad lacked flavor, and the Alfredo tasted more like milk than a rich Alfredo sauce. The calamari portion was also surprisingly small--barely enough for one person to share. The portions on some of the meals were large, but large portions don't make up for food that lacks flavor. Even the restroom showed a lack of attention to detail. The toilet paper wasn't on the holder and was simply sitting on top. It may seem like a small thing, but when you're charging premium prices, details matter. Our bill worked out to around $30 per person, and at that price point, I expect much better food, presentation, cleanliness, and overall hospitality. There are simply too many other Italian restaurants offering a better overall experience for the money. The bright spot was our waitress. She was exceptional--friendly, attentive, and easily the best part of our dining experience. She deserves recognition. Food was just ok, the best part of our meal was the appetizer hot honey pepperoni. It was kind of like a small pizza, and was pretty good. I ordered steak pizzaiola it was ok, but nothing fantastic. Sauce was a bit bland even though I asked for spicy. It had very little to no heat at all, and meat was over cooked. The bread that came with it was like a stretched dried out crouton. My wife ordered the lasagna, and was very disappointed. It was not like any lasagna we've ever seen, one piece of pasta wrapped around a pile of meat, sauce and cheese. Hers came with no bread. We dodged a bullet by not ordering the stuffed mushrooms, according to the table next to us. $18 for 5 stuffed mushroom caps made artificial crab meat. Maybe we caught them on a bad night, but doubt we will try again. Not what I would consider authentic Italian. Service was Ok, but slow. read more

We arrived late on a week night. Not many people in there. Cute little place. It's nice to see all the little locally owned places in Delphi so we wanted to try this one to support the community. Cocktails were very good. Crab stuffed mushrooms were good. They came with mayo based sauce under them which was different. Both sauces were very good. We would have enjoined some crostini with the plate for the sauces as the mushrooms really didn't need them. He had the Steak Tips Pasta. I had the Chicken Parm. Both dishes were good. We also took home some cannoli which were delicious. Give this place a try, but try to come earlier in the day. I think the ambiance would be better. While we were there, there was a table having a very loud speakerphone conversation that went on for the majority of our meal. Kind of ruined it for us. If there had been more people in the restaurant, perhaps that would not have happened. Overall, we liked this place though. read more

Delphi has a few decent restaurants, but nothing remotely upscale, until a few weeks ago when Paretta's Italian Ristorante opened its doors. Nice menus, small but adequate wine list, and stayed true to the brand, with tasteful decor and Italy-themed paintings everywhere. The lasagna was creatively prepared (it was round), service attentive without being overbearing. The pollo marsala was decent, but could have been more flavorful. Prices weren't too bad given the whole package. Definitely worth a visit. read more

This evening, I took my wife to Paretta's to celebrate Mother's Day. Paretta's is at the top of our list of favorite restaurants. We have had dinner there several times, and have taken a friend to celebrate her birthday. She has returned there on her own and with us. I have been there twice for lunch. The food was good, amble, and well priced. It has pleasant atmosphere and the service has been great. The delivery of food to the table is not at "fast food" speed, but it has always with the well worth the wait. I have appreciated more with every visit. read more

Side of risotto we could have eaten for days - It was so good The caprese app could have used some red onion and a little more balsamic drizzled on top. Brussels sprouts a little more balsamic drizzled after done cooking would have given it a pop. I would have liked something to dip the bread in. Sausage Pesto and the Marsala were both fine. The tiramisu was a little different than what we are used to but good. The food is amazing. Very authentic, service was pleasant and informative. They don't rush you so if you're looking for an In-N-Out place, this is not for you. I wish they would've had some bread and oil and cheese with cocktails, because things are made to order, we were really really hungry. Other than that, awesome and we will definitely go back. Make reservations! Just opened on Friday, and we went on Saturday. It was busy! And it was great! Service was prompt, attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Food and drinks were delicious. We sampled the chocolate torte for dessert, and it was outstanding. Overall, it was a great meal in a very nice setting. Good for you, Delphi! Note: While our party of five had a great experience, we couldn't help but notice that the table of seven beside us probably didn't agree. We were seated and ordered after them, but our food came out well ahead of theirs. This place just opened, though, so they are no doubt still getting into their groove. I spent $136.00 including tip forthe worse Italian we have ever had. The meat was overcooked and like it's canned. The dinner was almost 2 hour wait,after waiting one hour for two appetizers that were from a can as well. How disappointed we wear that food was just awful and no one from kitchen or management even bothered to talk us. Even the veggies were burnt.You would think that a newer restaurant would want some input,but not these people. Save your money! Do not go to Parettas. read more

We gave two weeks' notice and management was still completely unprepared. No chicken despite most menu items requiring it, no bottled beer even with a liquor store nearby, only two slices of dessert, and a freezing room where guests had to get blankets from their cars. First time being here on a recommendation from my brother and wife. Had reservations at 5:45, sat us down after about 10 min. But the hostess had to ask someone else about where she could seat us. They were not that busy at that time. Had several open tables. The place is rather small and tables are very close to each other. Didn't get serviced with water or by anyone for about 15 min. Then waited about 10 min before the server came to ask us if we would like drinks or appetizers. We ordered a sparkling water, beer, lemonade. She came back after about 15 minutes to see if we wanted an appetizer, which we ordered, and she suggested we place our dinner order. Ordered their minestrone soup and was informed they didn't have any soups left of all 3 choices they had. Keep in mind they have only been open for approx 2 hours. Ended up ordering a Caesar salad with dressing on the side with grilled chicken. Also 2 pasta dishes and a chicken parmigiana were ordered by the others. Appetizer was brought out without any plates for us to use. She had to go and get them which now the appetizer was cold. Dinners came out and everything looked good and tasted good. Then came the Caesar salad with dressing on it. They had to remake it to keep the dressing off which was better except for the stale croutons. They were soft and chewy and not good at all. After 2 hours were over we left. A dinner with atmosphere and great service and the length of time of more than 2 hours is acceptable, but not in a place like this. Very disappointed on their service and the lack of attention which was given to the guests. Will try again as perhaps it was a bad and off night for their staff and food. read more

Went into the restaurant, no table cloths, nothing on tables. It was loud, I ordered Bolognese, not vey good. My husband got eggplant Parmesan, the eggplant was small and the mozzarella was cold.
