    Crab Stuffed Mushrooms
    Stephanie B.

We arrived late on a week night. Not many people in there. Cute little place. It's nice to see all the little locally owned places in Delphi so we wanted to try this one to support the community. Cocktails were very good. Crab stuffed mushrooms were good. They came with mayo based sauce under them which was different. Both sauces were very good. We would have enjoined some crostini with the plate for the sauces as the mushrooms really didn't need them. He had the Steak Tips Pasta. I had the Chicken Parm. Both dishes were good. We also took home some cannoli which were delicious. Give this place a try, but try to come earlier in the day. I think the ambiance would be better. While we were there, there was a table having a very loud speakerphone conversation that went on for the majority of our meal. Kind of ruined it for us. If there had been more people in the restaurant, perhaps that would not have happened. Overall, we liked this place though.

Delphi has a few decent restaurants, but nothing remotely upscale, until a few weeks ago when Paretta's Italian Ristorante opened its doors. Nice menus, small but adequate wine list, and stayed true to the brand, with tasteful decor and Italy-themed paintings everywhere. The lasagna was creatively prepared (it was round), service attentive without being overbearing. The pollo marsala was decent, but could have been more flavorful. Prices weren't too bad given the whole package. Definitely worth a visit.

Everything's got way too much oil. And they often run out of menu items. Service is spotty.

Pasto Italiano is a hidden neighborhood gem in Westfield Indiana where we have had the pleasure of…read moreeating some wonderful Italian food over the past several years. The Marsala dishes (veal and chicken) are done perfectly, as are the Piccata versions. The Spaghetti Bolognese is one of my wife's favorites, which is saying something as we have traveled to Italy several times and this is her preferred Italian dish. Posto Italiano has a wonderful story which I doubt many diners know anything about. The restaurant was founded by Patsy and Kent who were Non-Italian New York transplants. They hired a young man by the name of Mike to manage the restaurant with the understanding that Mike would buy the restaurant when Patsy and Kent wanted to sell. Mike, along with his dad Rich, bought the restaurant a few years ago and brought their Italian family recipes with them. Posto Italiano translates as the "Food of Italy". Rich put a family recipe Pasta Fagioli zuppa (soup) on the menu that is the best I've ever had (it'd more like a thick stew), and my wife loves Mike's mom Shelly's Manicotti. They replaced Patsy's meatballs with Shelly's recipe which are even better. (The one and only negative that I have with the restaurant is that sometimes the meatballs come out hard.) The wait staff are just what you want in an Italian restaurant, warm and friendly and very good at what they do. Now the reason for this review! The other night the special was Grouper Alla Piccata. Absolutely Fantastic. A perfectly cooked nice size piece of Grouper and a Piccata Sauce perfectly balanced to the Grouper, emphasizing the sweetness of the fish. Hopefully this finds a permanent place on the menu. If you've never been to Posto Italiano, give it a try - wonderful food at a very reasonable price. You won't be disappointed.

The wild salmon was a big portion. I had it with risotto, but spaghetti marinara was a choice, too. I didn't want red sauce with salmon. The salmon was a bit dry. Risotto was flavorful and soft. We both had an interesting assortment of roasted vegetables. Hubby enjoyed his lasagna. We also got a basket of crispy Italian bread and a plate of olive oil with a sprinkle of basil in it. The owner has a farm and uses a lot of the produce she grows herself for the freshest ingredients. The variety on the menu is fabulous as well. They always have exceptional daily specials. It's always so hard to decide what to order! The negative is that it is only open for dinners on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. They used to be open more than than as well as for lunch (they had a fantastic lunch menu!) so that's a disappointment. The place is also clean, but I would like to see them replace their tables and chairs. The chairs are old and you sink down so low. The tables don't have a smooth surface and crumb debris gets caught. This is the only authentic, quality Italian place in town so I hope it sticks around for a long time! With her decreasing the hours from what she had before, I worry she'll eventually close. It would be a huge loss to the community if it did.

As I was coming home from Ft Wayne I was detoured through Pendleton…read more I remembered I had an Italian place marked on my bucket list on Yelp- WOW- honestly this was the best Italian meal I have had in Indy! It is worth the drive!!! All pastas are made fresh. The staff was so friendly and accommodating! They have a piano player as well...what a treat! I sat in the back corner and took it all in! The food was outstanding, I ordered Linguine Frutti di Mare- homemade linguine ( delicious) served with clams, mussels, scallops? Shrimp, cherry tomatoes, evoo, garluc, parsley cooked in a white wine sauce!!! As you can see I absolutely hated it... lol! I has an expression and lava cake for dessert. The lava cake was a little overcooked- that is the only complaint.... Other than the lady sitting across the table from me that talked loud enough for the whole restaurant to hear her conversation. I wish people would be more observant and realize they don't have to talk so loud when they're sitting at their table it made it difficult to hear the piano player and it went from a relaxing stress free feeling to an annoyance. I was so happy when her food arrived. This place is very special. It's very small. I got in because it was very early in the evening. I believe their doors open at 5 o'clock. I would highly recommend reservations, but if you have a special occasion that you're celebrating, and it appeared that several people did this is worth the drive!

The experience comes with either rigatoni or Alfredo noodles with Guanciale. The noodles and sauce were good but the pork cheek was not for us. 1/2 of the bites were pure fat. The rest of the meal was outstanding including the calamari/shrimp appetizer, Caesar salad, and the caprese salad. We already talked about going back to try other main courses. They had 3 options for nonalcoholic mocktails/drinks so that would be an improvement they could make especially for the non drinkers that would still like a NA wine pairing with a nice Italian dinner. You can bring your own with a $15 corking fee. The ambience was relaxing and romantic. They had orchestral music of popular songs so it was fun guessing what songs they were. There was a piano in the center of the restaurant and the mood lighting made the place seem even more cozy.
