Great service. Waitress was very thoughtful. Food was excellent. Got us in fast on a busy Holiday (Fathers Day).

We were celebrating our anniversary so it was a special night for us. Our waitress was super but stretched thin so she wasn't as attentive as she probably was on another night. This is a very upscale place. Decor and service reflect that. Good old fashioned steakhouse vibe. Oysters Rockafeller were perfect. Bread was fresh and absolutely delicious. He had American Wagyu Ribeye. I had Steak Oscar. Both were cooked appropriately. Maybe slightly under seasoned as we both added salt which is not typical for us. The Old Fashioned was really good and they had a wide selection of wine/beer and a handful of specialty cocktails. Our 2nd round of drinks was comped due to slow service at the bar and dessert was on the house for our anniversary which we really appreciated. We will definitely go back and try other things on the menu. Our steaks were good but I wouldn't say they were worth the price. $110 for his and $80ish for my Oscar. It was a filet with truffled hollandaise sauce and a scant amount of King Crab. They no longer serve King Crab due to the cost. Strange. If we would pay $110 for a steak why wouldn't we pay for King Crab due but that was a minor detail. I wouldn't say have preferred more crab...give me snow crab. The dessert was delightful. Baked Alaska served table side with plenty of rum. Thank you for making us feel valued and special!

"Wanted a Home Run... Got Benched Instead"…read more I rarely visit Big League, but I gave it a shot yesterday after hearing about their pizza special -- two 14" two-topping pizzas for around $10.95 each. I called in my order: one pepperoni + green olives, one pepperoni + BBQ drizzle. The woman on the phone confirmed it exactly as I said. All seemed good. I showed up early to grab a drink and was excited to try a Trauma Llama Ding Dong from Teays River Brewing (which I specifically chose this spot for)... only to be told the draft system was down. Bummer #1. Not the end of the world, but still disappointing when it was part of my reason for picking Big League. Fast forward to me getting home, excited for pizza -- only to open the box and find black olives instead of green. I called back and asked, "Do you guys have green olives?" She shouted to the back, confirmed they did, then offered the world's flattest "oops." She said the system only lists "olives" without clarifying color. Well... then maybe mention that when someone specifically requests green olives? To be fair, I didn't raise a huge fuss, but I was genuinely disappointed. I'd driven across town, skipped my draft beer, and really had my hopes up for that salty green olive/pepperoni combo. The pizza itself? Decent. But the lack of attention to detail and the "oopsie teehee" attitude from staff didn't leave me eager to come back. Big League? You might wanna tighten up the lineup. Service matters, and little things like draft beer and correct toppings go a long way. Edit: I had a little more fun with this version because... well, laughter is therapy. Enjoy -- "Big League... Minor League Vibes." Decided to give Big League a try because they had a decent pizza deal -- two 14" two-topping pies for like $11 each. Sounds like a win, right? I called in my order: * One pepperoni with green olives * One pepperoni with BBQ drizzle The gal on the phone repeated it back perfectly. I was optimistic. That was my first mistake. I drive clear across town (I don't live close) because I'd heard their pizza was good and they serve Teays River beer on draft. Specifically went in hoping for a pint of Trauma Llama Ding Dong -- yes, that's really the name and yes, I wanted it in my hand. Walked in and was hit with: "Ohhh sorry, our draft system is down." No trauma llama. Just trauma. Still trying to salvage the mood, I take my bottled consolation beer and head home with my pizzas... only to open the box and be greeted by... black olives. Not the green ones I asked for. Not the green ones she confirmed on the phone. Just a sad, briny disappointment staring back at me. So I call, and I'm like, "Hey, do y'all have green olives?" She yells across the kitchen: "Do we have green olives?" Then goes, "Yeah we do -- we just have to cut 'em up ourselves." OH OK COOL COOL COOL, so you had them... just not where they needed to be -- ON MY PIZZA. Her excuse? "Well our system just says 'olives.' It doesn't say what kind." Girl. Giiiiiirl. If your ordering system is vague and I'm being specific, maybe mention that? Maybe don't serve me a surprise topping roulette? I didn't order a mystery pizza. This ain't the Olive Lottery. The worst part? She gave me that high-pitched "oh noooo, sowwy heehee" energy like she was trying out for a Disney Channel reboot instead of owning the mistake. Bottom line: I wanted draft beer and green olives. I got a bottled beer and a black olive betrayal. The pizza wasn't bad -- just not what I asked for. And I'm not mad... just mildly unhinged and writing Yelp reviews to cope. Big League? More like Little Effort. Get it together, y'all.

Once you walk in, you walk up to a counter place your order and they will call out your name on the order is ready for pick up. There is also a fully self service station for sauces as well as Takeaway boxes if you need them. The menu offers a lot of different combinations and samplers and meats from pork to chicken. The sides are also a little bit unique in the sense that the vegetable sides also have added bacon, which is great to see. I personally love to see hush puppies, which is a very antiquated and rare to find option for food. And they did not disappoint. Overall, I would say from the sampler of the ribs and the chicken were fantastic as well as the pulled pork. The brisket was OK, but did not necessarily stand out. We did try four different barbecue sauces, which were all fantastic. The hush puppies as I stated earlier were absolutely delicious and I would come back just for these. We also got the corn pudding, which was a little bit on the sweeter side, but made and baked fresh just like everything else here. And this was a great alternative to cornbread. To top it all off, the staff here was so super nice, especially the young man at the counter when you first walked in as he also offered up a sample of the corn pudding because I've never heard of corn pudding nor did I ever tried it and this was also my first visit. I would definitely come back here again, and/or visit any of their other locations closer to Indy.

The sauces were good but couldn't make up for the missing seasoning on the meats. I had the 2 meat 2 side, brisket, pulled pork, with greens and baked beans. Now the side had a lot of flavor to them and was better than the meats. (In my opinion) Also ordered was the More Cowbell and the chicken tenders with fries. Those were delicious and warm. The place strikes me as a corporate type restaurant and not a family run one. I'm glad I checked it out. But won't be on my list of places I'd like to return to only because of other bbq places I like better.

It's been five and a half years since my last review, so I thought that an update is in order,…read moreparticularly since a few irritating things on recent visits cause me to lower the rating. The quality of the food remains high. The Americana burger that I spoke of in my previous review seems not to be on the menu any more, but several other burgers are, and they are quite good. My current favorite item, however, is the pork chop, which is huge (I get three meals out of it) and delicious. My wife continues to get her go-to item, the lobster mac and cheese, and speaks highly of it every time. (Not surprisingly, though, it has gone up in price since my previous review; it now costs $24.70 instead of $19. The pork chop is the same price.) The one menu item I tend to avoid is the french fries, which aren't as good as you would think they would be in a place like this. Now, about those irritating things. About a month ago my wife and I stopped by here in the late afternoon, about a quarter to five, and she of course ordered the lobster mac. The price on the lunch menu was the same as on the dinner menu, and so was (I think) the portion size, but at lunch you don't get a complimentary salad with your meal. Since we were about fifteen minutes away from the dinner-menu turnover (or so we were told; there was nothing in writing to alert the customer to this), you would have thought the restaurant would, in the name of good customer relations, have thrown in the stupid salad, but no, rules are rules. Then yesterday my wife and I ordered takeout. I placed the order on Red 7's website at around 2:30 PM. At this time, of course, the only menu showing online was the lunch menu. But when I indicated that I would like a 4:30 PM pickup, a dinner menu appeared. Not unreasonably, I took this as a sign that they were now offering the dinner menu at 4:30. I ordered my pork chop and my wife's lobster mac from the dinner menu, and the restaurant accepted my order and sent me a confirmation email. Then, about 4:15 PM, after my wife and I were already on the road to pick up the food (we live in West Lafayette, the restaurant is in Lafayette, about a 20 minute drive away), I got a phone call from the restaurant saying that the pork chop was only available at dinner and would not be ready until "around 5". So we had to turn around, drive home, and then leave again about 20 minutes later. I have no idea why Red 7 couldn't state explicitly when the dinner menu took effect, why they made the menu available and accepted my order when I placed it if it would not be in effect at the time of pickup, and why the restaurant felt the need to wait until fifteen minutes before I was supposed to pick up the food before telling me it wasn't going to be ready. Forwarned is forearmed, I suppose, and from now on, despite what the computer says, I won't be ordering dinner for any time earlier than 5 PM. But these annoying things are precisely the kind of thing that can detract from an otherwise good meal and leave the customer with a (no pun intended) bad taste in his mouth.

This is still one of my favorite places in Lafayette! I love their patio, portion sizes and food!…read moreRecently I ordered the almond & Parmesan crusted chicken and it was amazing!
