    Chicken Tortellini Soup

A very nice experience here, lovely atmosphere and ambiance, good service, and very delicious food. Good portions. The tortellini soup was thick, tasty and creamy. The wild salmon was a surprise with strawberry. Excellent. I would return....check them out.

I really enjoyed my time at La Scala! If you're not dining solo, you really do need a reservation. I tried to book one but couldn't get through. I decided to just show up and they were able to seat me at the bar right away while other parties waited for their tables to clear up. The bartender was so great and super attentive. I loved my drinks and had a lovely entree and dessert!

I went here recently with friends and had a wonderful time and even better service. Everyone's food looked delicious. The atmosphere was very nice and it was super clean. I definitely will be back soon! I hadn't gone here prior because I was under the assumption that it was a very expensive place. This isn't true at all. The prices were very reasonable, especially for the quality.

OMG one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had!! Highly, highly recommend the bolognese but beware it's pretty heavy! Besides the food, the service was great; very quick and the waitress was patient and friendly! Will be coming back asap :)

Crazy good! I finally get the fuss about this place, had been hearing happy thoughts from other locals and finally got to herd myself here with three foodie friends. We found a lovely quite busy Friday evening with filled indoor seating enjoying a quaint old fashioned atmosphere and ushered outside able to take in the setting sun shadows during the meal. During a short wait while many others took their time ordering, we discovered a fabulous menu sampling all sorts from the sea to farm and between. Look at those menu photos! Plenty to treat a wide range, liking the zucchini and gluten free noodle options, and we got real tempted for the cocktails but held off but myself doing a Peroni since never having one before. Sadly their entire draft happened to be down, thankfully the dessert menu was exquisite, but we somehow worked ourselves well full on wonderful bread, apps, and dishes. Our server was friendly and kept up most of the evening with us. I was excited with the gnocchi. The others seemed to share similar vibes with their pastas, chicken, scallops, and lamb. We will be back for sure and again go for an easy top three pick for Lafayette's restaurants. This rounds out my downtown favorites with Town & Gown and Bistro 501.

What is the typical dress for dinner at this restaurant?

I know we were business casual the night we went but we were outside. Could see it being more dressy inside on Fri/Sat nights.

It was a great place to have a nice solo steak dinner in West Lafayette. I don't eat steak often, but when I do, I want it to be amazing. And my steak was amazing! I got the 8-ounce Linz Heritage filet, Sam Allen style, which meant that it also came with grilled shrimp and a chimichurri. Yum yum yum to all three things. I usually order my steak medium-well, but the server suggested medium, so I went with it. Good choice! My server was very wise, even though he looked like he was still in college. Along with the steak, I got a side of grilled mushrooms, which came in a brown sauce with chives sprinkled on top. But first: I started with an heirloom tomato salad, which was served with stracciatella cheese, basil and these cool balls that looked like roe, but were actually balls of balsamic vinegar. Fancy! It was fresh and light, and the perfect appetizer to get during a summer in Indiana, when them tomatoes be poppin'. I don't know why I'm reviewing my meal backward, but just go with me, people. Before everything, you get complimentary rolls and butter. Oh man! I could have made a meal just from the bread and butter, both of which were tender and soft, and so salty and flavorful. At the very beginning of my meal, I started with an Old Fashioned, because I read that Boilerhouse Prime is known for their Old Fashioneds. This one was well balanced, and came with a nice bourbon cherry. I also got a glass of Malbec along the way with my meal, which went well with my steak. This seems like an adults-only restaurant, but I was sitting close to a big table that had a family with kids, so well-behaved kids are definitely allowed, even though I did not see a kids menu.

Last time I got the lobster bisque and it may have been the best I've ever had. I ordered it again and it was terrible. Just terrible. Tasted kind of bitter and was much too dark for a lobster bisque. The side dishes are enormous and they were all ok. The charred broccoli is an entire stalk thrown on a grill. Char on outside, raw on inside. Lovely. My American Wagyu bone-in strip was good, though it tasted no different than prime meat and did cost $95. I would have hoped for better than just 'good'. Family enjoyed most items. I sampled the wedge and really liked that. Probably best part of the meal. Oysters were excellent. Drinks are always good here. They have upgraded their rum list and have some high quality ones now. That's great! Service is always top notch. I will definitely be back for happy hours. The food at this restaurant is good. But when 2 adults and 3 kids drop $800 on a meal, it really ought to be fantastic, not just good.

As a wee child and teenager, it was the location of choice to celebrate birthdays and holidays. As a college-aged adult in training, it was the place to meet up with friends, share some drinks, and watch Jerry dance on top of the bar. Even now, as a married man in his thirties, living a ten-hour drive away, I make it a goal to enjoy Nine Irish Brothers once per year at the very least. When my childhood best friend of eighteen straight years passed away, this location marked the final stop in the bar crawl that was held in his honor. When another friend had bravely "come out" only to be to rejected by some of his religious friends, Nine Irish was the place where my wife and I were able to sit down with him over some Guinness and goat cheese fritters and show him how much we love him. The food and drinks are fantastic, and the memories are forever. Whether you've lived in Lafayette/West Lafayette all your life, you're new to the area, or you're just passing through, I cannot recommend this pub enough--no matter your age. Upon entering the hostess asked if we had a reservation, we did not as this was last minute find. The hostess advised there was a table available in the bar area or a large 6 top table behind the hostess stand. We selected the 6 top, while not in the main dining area it was still a good table and our server Karis was great. Complimentary Bread is served. The bread was served warm and soft. Ordered the Scallops and asked for them to be prepared in a lemon butter sauce which the kitchen was able to do a lemon beurre blanc sauce. Served with a side and soup or salad or a 2nd side if no soup or salad is selected. Requested some tartar sauce however it had a very overpowering Dill flavor. French Onion soup had the right amount of bread and more broth than cheese and onion. Had the Ribeye Cap special which needed a touch of salt and it was cooked a little more than the medium rare plus ordered. Served with a side of Burgundy Mushrooms heavy on the Burgundy flavor and Shoestring Onion Rings however not really on the true sense of Shoestring Onion ring size of things unless your into fat shoelaces but they did taste good. Overall great service and good food

First off, I have always picked where I want to sit, the part about "server is busy, and that table is served by a specific server" is nonsensical, they should really change or add a server to the seating area that customers prefer (near window, more lighting etc) rather than having the customer sit somewhere else for their servers convenience. Secondly, I picked up the glass for water and it smelled like an egg, I called out the server (who already seemed annoyed to change of seats) and told her about the glass and the response I got was "we wash our glasses in vinegar so it must be that", well first off, I know the difference between vinegar and egg smell, secondly, it was disgusting and I cannot drink water in it, instead of arguing, she really should have just changed the glass, it's not that hard.
