Modest place, close to Mariot hotel. Basic pizza and calamari for 50 dollars. Outside seating , chairs without a cover

Amazing Calzone at Parioli Solana Beach

This a a great place to get homemade pizzas and an absolutely delicious Calzone. It can be customized with your favorite ingredients.

My wife is Italian, born and raised not just in Rome, but specifically in the area of the city known as Parioli. Just for this reason we decided to give this place a try. To be truthful, my wife's such an awesome cook, finding a restaurant we like is next to impossible, especially if it's Italian. Parioli Italian Bistro, however, was a joyous surprise. We started with the burrata, which was delicious. My wife is Celiac (i.e. can't eat anything with gluten, even contamination is a problem) and her spaghetti with clams was wonderful. I had the eggplant parmesan, which was spectacular. For dessert we shared a gelato, which was reminiscent of the gelato we eat when we visit my parents-in-law in Rome. Besides the great food, the price was very reasonable and the service was first rate. I HIGHLY recommend Parioli Italian Bistro. We will definitely be going back.

Amazing fresh Branzino! Best we've ever eaten.

Disappointing experience. The food was good but service and conditions were not what they used to be.

I've tried many of their bruschettas and their half paninis and soups. Everything is delicious! I love the sweet and savory combos for the bruschetta, they come up with fun ideas. It's fun finger foods to eat and drink with wine. They have $7 wines until 5pm! What a steal. Service is excellent, the lady overheard us celebrating a retirement and she was so sweet and brought out some celebratory donuts. Great place to have lunch and drink some wines. They have beer specials too.

The outside patio was completely full and the bar had a number of people watching the World Cup. We were seated at a table inside and ordered the following: - Crispy cauliflower: this was the absolute winner for me. It was perfectly roasted. The romesco sauce and capers added a nice salty and umami profile. - Bruschetta board: we got the Brie/apple/fig, boquerones, warm artichoke spread, and prosciutto/fig/marscapone. I liked them all, but the artichoke spread was the standout. - Chef's charcuterie: standard, but nothing mind blowing. Service was excellent: as soon as we were seated by a giant open window, I felt a bit chilly. Even before I said anything, they asked us if we wanted it closed; very considerate. Food came out quickly, and the servers refilled our drinks often. It's a nice place for a little snack break. I still prefer Nick's across the way for an actual meal.

Waaaaaaayyyyyy more importantly, it has the best homemade fettuccini I've ever had, and the endive/pear salad, chicken marsala, and flourless chocolate mousse cake are also standout menu items. Additionally, the service is exceptional. Everyone I've interacted with, and especially Devin and Christian, are professional, courteous, attentive, and super pleasant overall. Thanks for being such an awesome establishment, Aqua Mare! I'm so glad I discovered you!

A local friend recommended Aqua Mare, so I took my wife and daughter, and invited a few others. We were not disappointed. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by Antonio (mgr). Vittorio waited on our party and Devon (bartender) came by our table ro say "hello." It was our first-time dining at Aqua Mare, but we were treated like regulars. I love it when restaurants are so welcoming. Started with the calamari and the ahi crudo- both excellent. But, the braised beef ravioli was the main attraction. Devon recommended it and it did not disappoint. It's rare that I order ravioli, but this was perhaps the best version I have ever tasted- made from scratch and so flavorful. Ended the meal with limoncello and housemade tiramisu. I would also recommend their martini made with the new premium Austrian rye vodka, NEFT. These were truly superior. Ample, free parking and a lovely sunset view from the dining room. Can't wait to return to Aqua Mare for another memorable meal next time I'm in Del Mar. Bon Appétit!

NORTH ITALIA @ DEL MAR…read more Parking is available in the garage parking lot, and the location is in Del Mar Highlands, surrounded by plenty of shops and restaurants. It's the perfect place to walk around, shop, grab a meal, and spend a few hours. I really love Del Mar, and this shopping center is definitely one of my favorites. I've been to the Fashion Valley location before and really enjoyed it, so I was excited to try this one. I also had no idea that North Italia is co-owned by The Cheesecake Factory, which was pretty interesting! I ordered the Chicken Pesto Pasta, and it was absolutely delicious. The pesto was flavorful, the chicken was incredibly moist, and I loved the pine nuts and capers, they added the perfect texture and flavor. If you're a pesto fan like I am, you really can't go wrong with this dish. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was beautiful. I especially loved the outdoor seating because it was bright, open, and made for such a relaxing dining experience. Overall, this is definitely one of my favorite North Italia locations, and I'd absolutely come back.

The waitress was really nice and helpful. She did a great job getting all of our orders correct and was prompt with responding to our requests. In my opinion the service and ambiance were the best part of the restaurant. The food was honestly just okay for me. There are so many other great Italian restaurants that I would rather go to at a similar price point. Our table shared the white truffle garlic bread which was pretty tasty with a nice creamy sauce and crispy crust. For the entree my husband and I shared the strozzapreti pasta and the pig pizza. The pasta was claimed to be a creamy, truffle and cheese pasta with an herb roasted chicken. It wasn't that creamy, there wasn't really a truffle taste, and the chicken honestly just felt like a shredded rotisserie chicken. The pine nuts were a nice addition and the pasta itself was a nice texture but overall the dish was very underwhelming. The pizza we got was like a meat lovers pizza. It was good but the toppings were sparsely placed mostly on one side and it was a bit too much crust for me. I also tried bites of a chicken parm plate which was decent but nothing out of this world. Unfortunately north Italia missed the mark for me

The pizza crust was fabulous and some of the best stateside. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. However, after coming back from the restaurant yesterday my wife experienced a moderate case of the runs (she had a chicken salad) and I had a mild case (pizza with mushrooms, ham, and sausage on top). This points to issues with kitchen prep and can be fairly common in smaller successful restaurant businesses that are scaling up additional locations. I hope they re-examine how ingredients are stored and prepped and nip the issue in the bud. Tastewise they deliver A+ flavors.
