My husband went there the other day and raved about this place and he brought home a coffee bun and croissant that were delicious. This morning we stopped in on our way to work at 6:20. We selected our food that looked wonderful and went to the counter. There were at least 10 employees in there putting out food, and two behind the counter talking to each other. Nice to have a Paris Baguette up in leander, but the staff needs some training as we had a bad experience. We arrived at 7pm to check it out for the first time, and we walked up with some other people to find the front doors locked. There were people inside and the staff simply stared at us as we were wondering why the doors were locked (closing time was 9pm). Eventually a customer, not staff opened a side door and let us in. Staff said nothing and didn't even seem to notice. As you can imagine this was an annoying experience, did nobody care? Knowing the routine we picked up some pastries and I had a question about the cream puffs they offered regarding their filling. I asked if it was whipped cream or pastry cream and the employee could not have been more dismissive with a 'bro i dont know i dont eat this stuff.' There were 5 other staff people that could have been asked just in proximity and i got no answer. Its a pretty location but man, that was a bad experience. We were craving a delicious pastry for desert and live close by so decided to give Paris Baguette a try! Really good first experience. Store was clean, almost all of the pastries and treats were well stocked (we came after dinner) and I liked the variety of options to choose from. Picked up a few different things, but have to shout out the red velvet cake that's located in the glass cases. It was really good. Perfectly moist with the right amount of frosting, and it was a healthy portion size. Look forward to coming back another time and trying some of their breakfast and lunch items. Got here around 9:45am, and it was so packed!! Haha I knew it'd be busy but wasn't expecting it at that capacity, so it was pretty loud inside and the line was very long. It seems they may need more cashiers early in the morning. I got one pastry at $5.49, I also got an iced latte with oatmilk around $5.50. I was a little confused when the cashier asked if I had tried soy milk. I told her I hadn't but that it looked watery. Then she told me that our bodies cannot digest oatmilk so it causes more bloating. I was a little taken aback by the comment but went ahead with my order. The latte was good, the pastry was good, a little over priced and the in store experience was a little bit lacking. Ordered the cake online. Tried calling twice the morning of pick up to confirm that the cake was ready. No answer. No opportunity to leave a message. Went to the store to pick up the cake. They couldn't find the cake. After 5 minutes, they can find the order but cannot find the cake. After another 10 minutes they finally found the cake but said that they needed some time to write the message on it. Waited another 15 minutes, went back to the cashier, and found out that the cake was ready, but no one had come to let me know. This place is super cute! Everything looks so yummy! This was our first time and we went in for a birthday cake for myself planning to get a case cake. I asked for the mini strawberry cream cake but I guess the young man didn't hear me say mini. Thought the price was 39$ because I tried to push four dollars on the tip screen. There was a mini cake in the case but the employee went to the back and after some discussion the manager came out and said they would have to make one and to return in an hour and a half. It was for my birthday so I didn't want any negativity so since we had errands to run we left and came back later. When we unboxed the cake ( we actually picked up Saturday for my Sunday birthday) it was the large cake. Cake was okay, basically a strawberry short cake but with a sponge/ chiffon type cake. We each ate one piece and thought it a tad flavorless, the strawberries really dominated, but I think it just wasn't quite what we expected flavor wise. We expected maybe a denser cake, but it was super light and airy. Shop was clean and quite busy so overall good experience and everything looked so good I'm sure we will visit again. I popped in here after a recommendation from a friend. I strolled in trying not to be too excited. What a display of amazing pastries in both savory and sweet. I don't know why I didn't snap a picture because it was a sight! Display case after display case. I grabbed a tray and tongs and went to every case before making any decisions. I saw they had also a full coffee bar and prepackaged options, as well. I chose a sausage croissant. This was crunchy and chewy with just the right meat to pastry ratio. Next I got a crab croquette which had a mixture of "krab" salad with corn inside. The pastry was light with the standard crunchy top. Loved it. I also chose a strawberry croissant round partially dipped in a strawberry frosting and a strawberry filling. The strawberry flavor was real and the pastry to cream filling spot on. Lastly but certainly not least is my ab fav - a palmier! It was all the things it should be: layered, crunchy, buttery with the caramelized sugar baked into it. Divine! Everything I got was very fresh and full of flavor without resorting to too much sugar or salt. I'll definitely make a return or 10! The staff were young and seemed like they were there for the job but not the service. I alo inquired about any gluten free options for my sister, but was told there wasn't any in the store. Above the display cases on the left side of the store, I procured two loaves of sliced sourdough bread I treated my son and granddaughter to one and kept one for myself I treated myself to a Palmier. When I say treated, I mean, treated in the finest sense.... this pastry was sublime, just enough sweet just enough crunch and just enough butter. It was a little bite of heaven!!! I also got a cream cheese, filled pastry and got my butter half a fresh -light as air sugar twist donut. There were all kinds of other delightful pastries! Lots of croissant stuffed with fresh strawberries and topped with whipped cream, blueberry pastry's, I don't think I've ever been inside a property that had so many pastry options. No ownership or management around to explain how this place is run and even when they are, they are very not helpful in relieving congestion. Most people when they first walk in are confused as to what to do. The directions on how to grab a tray and grab pastries are in the window where noone inside can see or read. People stand in line to just stand in a line that doesn't really go anywhere when the place is packed. It'd be okay if noone was here and you can walk freely. The congestion is stifling, and I really hate going to this bakery because of how inefficient it is run. The pastries are good for the area. That's about it. Constructive feedback: Put the checkout line on the right side of the store away from the food displays so that people leave through the middle and put the trays closer to the entrance with instructions. I really don't want to come back here again. Normally, at any other bakery, you just grab a tray and browse. Here, everyone inexplicably stands in a line that only covers half the store. There's a sign in front saying just grab a tray but it's easy to miss. People are just trying to be polite and do the right thing. The owners should help but they don't seem to know how a bakery works. You can either use the bakery normally, as some do, and get ugly looks or you wait 20 minutes in line to buy a doughnut. I am a huge fan of 85 Degree and Tous Les Jours so I understand the layout of the bakery and had a vague idea of what products would be there. I liked walking in and being able to see everything, and I especially liked how if the food had no packaging around it, it would be put in the display case. The issue I had was actually the taste of the food. I got a few things, and one of the was the Twist donut. The donut had a lot of potential, but it tasted old.
