Super convenient place go pick up some kolaches and pretty decently priced too! I definitely prefer the savory kolaches but the cream cheese ones are really good too! I just wouldn't be able to eat as many of those but then again, I don't have that much of a sweet tooth. I definitely want to come again to try out some more flavors and some other food options! I also really like that you can buy some of the older baked goods packaged and for a discount, although fresh is obviously best.

The outside - it's connected to the Foodie's and Valero station.

I don't know who at Valero or Foodie's managed to get Weikel's Bakery to open an outlet attached to the station / convenience store, but it's a brilliant idea. Weikel's is a Czech-themed shop selling pastries, cake, and sandwiches - and they're dang good, especially in making the Texas Gold Standard: the kolache. The cherry kolache is one of the best I've had, and I can't wait to go back and try a sandwich, or the amazing looking key lime cheesecake. Definitely recommend this place as a stop-and-try if you're on the 183! This place scores a 5 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn't have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn't have my penultimate supper here, either.

Foodie's is a combo of a Valero Gas station with a decent number of pumps & standard convenience store items inside, a made-to-order tacos, burgers, smoothies & coffees station (Foodies), and a licensed Weikel's bakery with assorted Kolaches, Pig's-in-a-blankets, and treats. Visited on a Saturday morning during their opening weekend, and despite being before 8am, they already had a small line and options were starting to become limited. I suspect this has a lot to do with being new to our local options, but if not hopefully they'll quickly be able to gauge how much to prep the night prior within a few weeks to keep up & keep folks happy. (A little girl with her mom was so sad when they were out of cinnamon rolls already, aww). While the Weikel's offerings are nowhere close to the awesomeness of Slovacek's, the fact I don't need to take the 3hr roundtrip journey up to West to get decent Kolaches is a huge plus and I can overlook that. I have high hopes for this trio of business options under one roof, and will be keeping my eye on them.

Kolaches sounded like the perfect morning treat for this snowy Sunday!. This place was getting rave reviews so I decided that I must try! Weikel's definitely did not disappoint. Easily the best Kolaches I've ever had. They were warm and fresh, and I got almost every flavor I wanted. I got there around 10am, so they weren't quite sold out of everything yet, but they do sell out early from what the guy told me...especially on weekends! Had a sausage egg and cheese taco as well, and it was excellent. Place was really clean, everyone was wearing masks, and the staff was friendly. If you're a fan of Kolaches, this is the spot!!!

Donut shops were closed this morning. Stopped here and they were open and had sausage n cheese kolaches. Alright at best.

I know my sausage n cheese kolaches and these are alright at best. I went to four donut shops this morning looking for donuts for the grandkids and Kolaches for the adults. Found donuts at HEB and Kolaches at Weikel's. I was surprised they were open, but I'm glad they were. My daughter and son in law and grandkids were heading back to CA today and she wanted sausage n cheese kolaches (for the 3rd time this wee) before they hit the road. She enjoyed them, but to me they were alright at best. My son in law said they were alright at best as well, and Mrs. Texas loved the bread but hated the sausage. The sausage had a weird taste (seasoning wise). I'm glad I was watching them pack em. They got sausage n cheese for the first pack, then ham and pepper Jack for the second pack and I told him they were wrong. They bag the kolaches after you order them. This too caused the bottoms to get gooey from the moisture buildup in the bags. This would be my last resort for sausage n cheese kolaches, but they saved the day today 1.1.22

Had been waiting for this to open up for quite some time. It definitely did not disappoint, the gas station itself is very nice with a wide variety of items available. But the bakery is the best part, they offer so many drinks and food options for a very affordable prices. I'll have to come earlier in the day as most of the items sell out in the morning supposedly, we will definitely be back.

    a variety of baked goods

It was okay. I got a cream cheese blueberry and a cream cheese lemon danish/kolache. They were underbaked - doughy. My son got a sausage cheese kolache/klobasnek. It was cold. They were still tasty.

    Yes they serve burgers

When I have gone there it's never been fresh. Maybe at one time it was. This stops me from enjoying a bakery.

Came in hungry, left questioning every other country fried steak I've ever eaten--because this one just ruined the competition. Crispy, tender, smothered in perfection... easily the best I've ever had. My wife ordered the cinnamon roll French toast, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it felt illegal how good it was. Like dessert disguised as breakfast in the best way possible. And don't sleep on the strawberry cream cheese pancakes--they're the kind of good that makes you pause mid-bite and rethink your life choices. Then there are the bacon twists... I don't even have the words. Just order them. Trust me. Shoutout to Olivia, our server--absolute rockstar. Super friendly, on point, and made the whole experience even better. Bottom line: every time we come here, it's a win. Great food, great vibes, great people. If you leave hungry, that's on you.

The good news is there are several places that have waitlists and there are even some places that take reservations so if you're planning includes a time that's likely to attract a lot of diners. I would suggest that would be the way to decide your destination. We did in fact, use the waitlist Sunday at Perky Beans. It allowed us to see how many parties were in front of us and advised that we would be texted when our table was ready. We waited about a half hour in our vehicle until we were texted and then headed in and we were seated immediately. Junny was our server. She seated us and gave us menus. I ordered a Hazelnut Coffee and a Virgin Mary(bloody Mary without the alcohol). My granddaughter ordered Water. We took a few minutes looking over the menus. There were quite a few options. Lots of tempting items, but it's hard for me to turn down biscuits and gravy since I love homemade biscuits and unfortunately mine don't turn out-2 eggs and home fried potatoes accompanied that. My granddaughter ordered the " sample the Eggs Benedict," which offered her the option of choosing two half Benedicts offered-which is a great way to determine your preference. She also opted for the home fried potatoes. Right about then Junny went and got my Virgin Mary, which they had really done up nicely! It was every bit as pretty as the alcoholic version with a nice crisp celery, stick, and a Gerkin pickle, Green olive and fresh Orange section. It was very tasty. We waited about 40 minutes for our food. It was very busy and I think it's difficult to manage the coffee side of the café along with the dining room side especially on a very busy Sunday. (That is why I deducted one star from our rating.) It did appear that they had adequate service staff, of course we couldn't observe the kitchen area so not sure how many cooks. We did enjoy the restaurant as a whole and we do plan to return to order some of the other delicious offerings on the menu. Fantastic to have a great brunch option right in Leander!!!

For Mardi Gras there was a delicious Swamp Attack Energy drink that blew my mind! It was awesome! Walk in and talk to the owner. He's so personable and helpful. Clearly, he has helped me make a decision many times. There is a drive thru available; however, there is also a decent amount of parking in this small shopping center. So I told my husband about it and we just went through the drive thru. I always get an iced drink, and my husband ordered it correctly ( I was sitting right next to him) and when we got to the window they handed us a hot coffee. No biggie, we just said oh it was supposed to be iced. Mix ups happen. And instead of just fixing the mistake, the man asked if he was sure that we ordered ice? And my husband assured him he did... which to me was a little weird. Pointing the finger at us like we ordered wrong lol. The man gave my husband a dirty look, like somehow his mistake burdened him.. and when my husband received the new coffee, it was literally the hot coffee, they made by mistake, poured over ice (picture attached). You can completely taste the difference. I gotta tell you, I'm a former barista and this would NEVER fly anywhere I worked. It tastes gross and loses the entire integrity of the drink. I'm not sure if this place is just too stingy to fix their mistake? Maybe their money is tight and they can't spare a mess up on their end? That's the only thing I can think of to why this would ever happen...So strange.
