My love for Paris Baguette truly will never die!! This is my new go to place for picking up birthday cakes or even just taking someone to meet for pastries and coffee / tea. I have been to the one located inside the Cheltenham H-Mart and the one in Chinatown, and both are consistent in terms of quality and service. First off, the service is always amazing - everyone is always incredibly polite and helpful, huge kudos to them. Secondly, I love the pastries and cakes. The cakes are never too sweet which is so nice - I love cake but have never loved the really sugary and pasty icing that is so typical of your average birthday cake. Welcome to the world of light and fluffy cream cakes, with fruits and other light flavors. Try one for your next party and everyone will love it, I guarantee it. With your cake comes a cute little plastic cake knife that they'll provide for you and they'll also let you pick out a birthday candle and ask if you want a chocolate Happy Birthday sign. The picture I have is of my lovely umma's birthday cake - she was so in love with it, and she has extremely picky about her desserts, so if my umma loves it anyone will honestly. (I picked a simple fruit cream cake). It's also not huge, which is quite nice - no one loves eating leftover cake three days later. Their tea and coffee is really good, and I've had several of their different tarts and pastries and I have yet to be let down by one. I've also had their matcha and tangerine rolls and U G H I cannot emphasize how good they are!! The interior is perfect for a little dessert date - there's a decent amount of seating and the atmosphere is nice (it's cutely Parisian themed, even though it's a Korean chain. This place is two blocks away from me and have since remodeled and is renamed Paris Bakery and Deli. I don't believe this ever ever was a true Paris Baguette because their offerings are a lot different than the other two Paris Baguettes in the area. Since they rebranded and remodeled the prices have went up. I see they now offer lattes, smoothies, waffles, sandwiches and other things that weren't there before. Most of the pastries, although decent quality were overpriced to begin with and now even much more so. My favorite was the red bean donut and the walnut tart. I'm sorry but $3 is a bit much for a 2-in donut. I never really liked their buns which were about a dollar more and not as good as the ones you get in Chinatown. The lattes look interesting and I may try one. When I first went after they remodeled and rebranded I asked the price of the sandwiches, which were tiny. I don't remember the price but it was pretty astronomical for the size so I would pass on those. Looking at the menu online there's no prices for anything which is never a good sign. I was trying to find other Paris Baguette stores for different cakes. Found this one on Yelp located not too far from Hmart of Cheltenham. Sincerely speaking,I don't think this is a Paris Baguette, more like a regular bakery. It is not like the bakeries in Chinatown, probably bc it is Korean owned??? Even though they didn't have the cake I was looking for, I end up picking up some cream buns($1.75), vanilla roll($15), and rice balls with bean paste($1.25). Prices are definitely on the steep side. But packaging is very nice, especially the box the vanilla roll came in. UPDATES: Didn't like anything of what I purchased. The cream buns were tasteless, couldn't even taste the dough. The Vanilla swiss roll were too much cream. The cream to cake ratio is like 70/20. My mom like the rice cake balls, so unless is for her, I won't bother coming to this bakery again. read more

What do you have a taste for? Madelines? They got it! Chocolate croissants? Yup. Eclairs, sweet potato cheese bread, banana bread shaped like bananas? Yup to all of the above. Plus some nice coffee to go with it. This quaint bakery shop has some wonderful treats that you may not be able to find, freshly made around these parts. Right in a small strip mall at 5th and Cheltenham you will find this gem. We came here at the behest of some of our friends as they googled nearby places to grab a quick bite to eat and a rest room. Well we found this place and was more than happy with the treats. (The restroom is a whole different story. They just need a proper storage closet. I'll leave it at that.) Had the worst experience at this place. I had ordered a birthday cake (green tea cake) and went to pick it up. A few days before pick up, I had received an email for a free drink since it was my birthday. When I went to pick up the cake, they had refused to give me the free drink and the people working there as well as the manager made such a big deal about a stupid drink. I was embarrassed and humiliated as I was holding up the line and everyone was waiting and starring. I would have rather saved myself the embarrassment for a cheap drink that they refused to honor. On top of that, the cake was dry and did not taste as good as I remembered as some guests had commented on the same issue. Keep in mind that I get cakes often from the Elkins location. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM PARIS BAGUETTE EVER. I even mentioned my experience to corporate and they did nothing about it. read more

So far, this is my favorite location of this chain. Unlike the Hmart location, which seems to carry more of the french style pastries, this one gets down and dirty with fried, powdered, sugared and savory treats. This is more my style in terms of Asian pastries. Bring on the Red Bean!!! The homemade milky frozen popsicles are often overlooked in the refrigerated case immediately as you come in the door to the left, at $1.50 or $1.75- well worth the money! While I will always prefer the real French pastries found on every corner in even the smallest ville in France, at least this particular Paris Baguette has the touch and feel of a real old fashioned Boulanger. Wooden floors and display shelves, mural of the Tour Eifel, and decent cakes, breads, tarts and coffee, make this a pleasant stop and relaxation spot. This is the third PB I have visited, and it is by far the most comfortable on a human scale. The others have either been too big and cold (Edison), or too small and subterranean (Elkins Park). I was in the area eating Korean food and doing some shopping at H-Mart and my trusty Yelp app lead me to this bakery. I love Asian bakeries because usually the cakes aren't as sweet as the ones most other places. There is a really nice selection at Paris Baguette. When you walk into the bakery, you will see two rows of little pastries, buns, and rolls. You can grab a basket and then select a few different items. And that's not all! There are also two cold cases with cakes in them on the back wall near the cash register. There are many fruit topped cakes and then other cakes such as tiramisu, and different flavored roll cakes. I was having a hard time making a decision due for my love of baked goods and the large selection. I finally settled on the green tea roll cake due to seeing it mentioned on a review on here. I got used to eating this when I lived in Japan, and I was hoping for more of a matcha (powered green tea) flavor since the color of this roll cake looked darker than some of the ones I've tried in the Chinatown bakeries that don't really have much flavor. I was impressed with the packaging (see photo). The cake was already wrapped in a plastic sleeve with a seal. Then the baker placed it in a really cute pink and blue striped box, and fastens securely, but also is easy to unfasten. I can't tell you how handy that is having gotten cakes from other bakeries, opened the box, and then never having been able to get it sealed up again without mangling it and taping it to death. This box presented none of those problems and did a good job keeping the cake fresh after opening and reopening. It would have made a good gift from the way it was packaged. The cost was $10 for the whole roll cake with the fancy box, which wasn't too bad. I got home and decided to have the green tea roll cake with some genmaicha (Japanese brown rice green tea). The cake was moist and not too sweet like I was hoping. However, the flavor of green tea was too faint for me. It also had walnuts in it which was a strange surprise since I wasn't expecting it and haven't seen that combination before. So, being impressed with the functional and fashionable packaging and the large selection, I will be back. However, I think I'll try something different besides the roll cake. Perhaps some of the smaller pastries or one of the fruit topped cakes will be tastier. read more

This is one of the cutest chain cafés out there. The most interesting part about it is that it's an attempt to recreate a "Parisian cafe", but through a Korean interpretation. You can see cute elements of both cultures and aesthetic in various design detail. The food here was quite bland. I had, what was supposed to be, a savory bun. But it had absolutely no flavor. It was just fried dough. My Chai also seemed to lack any real flavor. In addition, there are a lot of glass windows in the cafe that give you a view of the mall, which is not a great view at all. You'll be drinking from your cute smiling coffee cup as you look upon closed stores and people grocery shopping. The place is a novelty, in terms of the theme and origin of the company. But there are plenty of small, owner operated coffee places that blow this out of the water. I'm glad to have experienced the place, and might bring out of town visitors to show them, but I wouldn't make a trip out here for any other reason. read more

This cute Mom+Pop gem is located behind Soho Cafe in a small plaza. It's the perfect place to fulfill your sweet cravings. They offer a variety of pastries such as macarons, madeleines, cookies, and much more. They even have popsicles; red bean, green tea, vanilla, and chocolate. Their birthday cakes here are also delicious. I usually order their fruit or sweet potato cakes for special occasions. They usually go for $20-25 per cake. You don't really have to order ahead of time as they never run out of cakes. I personally enjoy their cakes more than the fancier looking cakes at the Paris Baguette location in HMart. It tastes better and it's bigger; whereas the other location charges more for presentation and it's smaller in size. If you're hungry for something savory, they offer sandwiches and salads, which I have not had yet, but they did look appetizing. Definitely give this place a go if you're looking for some sweet treats, cakes for occasions, or a quick bite of something savory. read more

I frequent this location to pick up cakes. They are prepared fresh and they are not overly sweet, which is a plus for me. I recommend the tiramisu and fruit cakes. They all come in a cute carrying box with a knife and long candles. With cakes, I suggest placing an order ahead of time, since there is a possibility of them being out of stock. However, they are usually good with replenishing their inventory. There are pastries here, but it's more on the simple side - glazed, sugared, powdered dough. Although I have tried a few of their cakes before, this is my first time ordering one myself (well for my mother). Chocolate sponge cake with strawberries! So moist and delicious. It wasn't overly sweet and just perfect. Even my mother said it was really good and she's not into cakes like that. The only thing it needed was more strawberries inside. I felt it lacked it a lot. I like to have a strawberry with every bite and I just don't get that with this cake. As for the designs of their cake, it was very nice, I didn't even want to cut into it. Not like your typical asian bakeries. They put chocolate pieces on top and make it look really cool. And, there was strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries put on top as well. At first, I thought this was a part of that PB chain but apparently it was not. Anyhow, I heard this Paris Baguette has been around longer than that Paris Baguette chain. It's a mom+pop, I know, but it has that quaint Parisian cafe touch inside. The breads all look delish and always make me feel like I wanna get one of each lol. They have dope homemade popsicles for $1.50 each. Tell me, where else you can get homemade popsicles for that amount of money these days. I love this place! I always stop by here whenever I eat at this plaza (Yong Hwa Ryoo, Soho, etc.), and it is seriously the perfect place for dessert. They have Korean styled baked goods, almond cookies, madeleines, fresh bread, sandwiches (egg salad - my guilty pleasure), popsicles, cakes and more. Please never go away! The only drawback is that I think they have a credit card limit of $5, but it's easy enough to go over with the amount of stuff they offer, so no biggie. read more

Horrible experience with these guys. Came in to pick up a cake for a friends bday. They charged me $250 instead of $25 and when I spoke with the owner, I told him specifically I do not live in the area so I prefer to have them just refund the whole transaction and recharge my card. He tells me he cannot do the refund but if I came in personally he would refund the whole transaction and the cake was free of charge. I drove 50mins out to only to find out he told the lady to subtract the cake and hand me $225. Lol. I asked the lady to call the Owner so I can hear from him directly and she tells me she was next to him and heard him say $250 minus the cake. Bottom line I left with a sour taste from the cake and the whole situation. Not a fan of bad business and this place. I should've just stuck with my original bakery in hmart. 0 stars for horrible business. read more

Overall I just like this place. Found it in my "before yelp" days in my shopping and foodie adventures. A lot of Korean desserts & snacks. It is located in Hmart with a very interesting Korean food court upstairs on second floor. Always hard for me to get to because I do not like driving all through North Philly Broad Street traffic to get here from where I am. Not yet too fond of the shakes/drinks/bubbletea here but I only tried a one or two. So I might be biased. I love their bakery :) read more

This place may not seem very traditional from the outside, but they really truly have some of the best French style pastries in the Philly area. There are so many things to choose from, but their quality is still excellent. If it looks flaky, it ACTUALLY is flaky, even their filled danish-style pieces. I was on my way to the Cheltenhan Mall for some things and I stopped at the 7 eleven for something and saw this little place just a few doors down. I go in and i am in love. the place had so many sweet aromas in the Air. Of course I went crazy when I saw the prices and how beautifully laid out every items was . they had all these different kinds of buns, almond cream , red bean, strawberry cream sweet potato etc i got one of each . This is a Korean Store that I have to saw have the friendlist people I have met in a while. My brother Rick , just came back from korea and from what he told me they are Acting as if they are in korea . the whole place was cleaner than Kleen it was Sparkling. They have teas, but there main thing are the cakes and the buns, fresh bread made on the premises. you can see the kitchen sparkling I am sure they have a large Korean Base of Customers as they Great them with Anyou has say yule when they enter . They have a large painting on the wall with the eiffel tower and some cakes and people seatted on a lawn it's so relaxing. The Apple bun was $1.20 individually packaged and with the name of the store on the bag, same for the fresh bread a loaf $3.00 the prices made me get too much stuff. I usually get the fruit cake here for family birthdays. They are fresh and delicious and not too sweet which is a big plus for me and my family. I tried the mocha slice which is phenomenal.
