Got a special of theirs, a salted caramel cold brew latte. I try to be open to variations in food and drink but even though it was refreshing on this hot probably 90 degree day, the coffee was so watered down it was hard to tell it was coffee at all. Staff is friendly. As they extended their hours (fairly) recently, maybe the staff is tired to stay here longer. I'd say they specialize in their bakery the best. This cake shop always has what I need. As I walked in, I was greeted with the bright, airy and inviting interior. There is a cute blue mural to one wall and there's ample booth and table seating. These areas are great for studying and/or snacking. The pastries were illuminated in the cases, the flakey crusts glistening. They all looked delicious. In the back refrigerated area they had some of their infamous macaroons and my favorite cheesecake--not too sweet, just the right size to celebrate but not TOO much cheese for us lactose-intolerant folks. As I made my way to the front I saw what I came for: a cake to celebrate! I asked the girl in the front who was super sweet and willing to help. Although they have the flavor placards on the cake displays, I asked for a specific flavor profile--not too sweet, not too frilly, light and airy cake filled with fruit. Stopped in quickly for a breakfast bite before I went to a nearby appointment. I was pleasantly surprised by the wall of treats and chose something simple (a croissant) to gauge the quality. I lived in Europe for years and miss the bread/pastry. The croissants at Paris Baguette were crispy and buttery. I ordered an iced caramel latte as well. After my appointment, I came back to get another croissant, but they were sold out, so I grabbed a bag of mini croissants to go and a sweet potato stick (not that great). The cakes are gorgeous and the sandwiches are as fresh as can be, and the bread - the bread is magnificent. A visit to the store at 3816 Chestnut Street in Philadelphia is a visit to heaven. I got married last Friday, and the custom bakery we worked with for our cake straight up forgot to make it! Imagine our disappointment and stress when we came to pick up our cake for our micro wedding and the other bakery had no idea what we were talking about! After picking our jaws up off the floor, we drove straight to Paris Baguette and picked up a Blueberry Chiffon cake (for just $40)! The cake was beautiful, elegant, and delicious! I love that it was not sugar-forward and was so fresh and light. It also looked great with our other desserts, and was no less special than or $160 custom cake would have been. When you enter, you're immediately overwhelmed (in the best possible way) with the number of pastries to choose from! It's a serve-yourself style where you pick up a tray, use tongs and open the sliding doors to choose your sweets. You can fill up your tray with as much as you want and then bring it up to the cashier. At the register, you can order your beverage and baristas will make it for you there. When I went in I was surprised by how spacious it is. There are lots of tables and chairs to sit down at including some built in booths, which is unique for a cafe. I got a chocolate-filled croissant and a chai latte and I was very pleased! Everything was fresh and delicious. This is a great new spot and is very much needed on this side of town. Since Sunday I was craving a chocolate chocolate cupcake how lucky was I when my husband had to go to philly for a job. I asked him to call me on his way out of the city that I wanted sweets. He found this bakery and stopped in for me. He sent me a bunch of pictures and brought me home a strawberry cheesecake and a guanche créame cake piece. OMG how mad am I that's it's over an hour away from where I live. The cheesecake was mind blowing the look of the consistency looks like cake and cut like cake but when you eat it, it was creamy like cheese. The strawberries on top or super fresh. It was totally mind-boggling and so good, and omg the chocolate cake everything about it was delicious. It was moist, fluffy and fresh. The flavor for both are definitely worth going out of my way,Every time we or him are in Philly to make a stop to make sure we pick some up! I went this place (600 Washington Avenue, Philadelphia ) with my friend for the 2nd time, because we love the place, but today we get a bad service from one of the server, he is a man I forgot his name (start with S), he's so terrible and bad manner, why I said this is because when I was arrived and not even 1 minute sat down with my son, he come over to me and told me to not let my son jumping around on the chair, because my son shoes will be making the chair dirty and people wanna sit on there. I understand that, but he is just 2 years old and so active, even it's get dirty I will clean it and we were so exhausted because of the weather so hot outside and you really have to complain to your customers like that??? And the 2nd bad experiences was when we made the drinks order he put the wrong price on the order and after that he told us that we have to tell them in complete and specific order so they won't get wrong, once again I understand it and I already told them in clear that I want the ice green tea latte with less ice.... So he made a mistake and he blame to us...As a good server I think is inappropriate to say those words to the customer.
