We decided to try Park Avenue BBQ Grille on a whim. We walked up to the walk up window and luckily the gentleman there was very helpful. We were not aware of side dish options so he kindly went over options We did not go inside so this review is based on our to go order. However while waiting we looked inside & it looked inviting. It was just me & my nephew so our order was simple & small. We ordered the fried chicken combo with fries,roasted corn and slaw Menu states & waiter said please allow 20 mins for the fried chicken & it was 20 min wait We also ordered the kids meal with Ribs the sides were corn bread and mashed potatoes. My little nephew loved his rib meal. The fried chicken meat was good but it was the crunch outside that was a miss for me. The crunch was way overcooked almost had a burnt taste. We've been to other PA BBQ restaurants and liked them, so I was looking forward to trying this location in Wellington. They weren't that busy when we stopped by for an early lunch. Parking was right outside the restaurant. When we entered, we were told to choose whichever table we wanted. We selected one that wasn't directly under a blowing air conditioner vent. After looking over the menu, we ordered. My husband chose a bowl of the Brunswick stew, and I had their funny bones. The Brunswick stew was served in a very large bowl. He added a piece of cornbread on the side. The stew had corn, tomatoes, and pulled pork in it. He said it was okay, but he's had much better. I ordered their regular size portion of funny bones. It came with corn bread and a choice of one side. I chose baked beans as my side. I've had the funny bones before and have liked them. They are the irregular pieces left over from the ends of a rack of ribs. Usually, they are tender and excellent tasting although in odd shapes. These were so tough you couldn't pull them apart. They tasted like they were old and had been laying around the kitchen. The beans were okay. They don't carry a "sweet" version of a barbecue sauce, so I added a packet of sugar to them, and they were a bit better. The food tasted good. But I ordered a four piece white meat fried chicken, which would've been two breasts and two wings. They took one breast cut it in half and called it two pieces. I was so disappointed. There was an up charge for all white meat and then for them to take one piece and cut it to half and call it too for $20 was ridiculous. read more

Their BBQ is great! We usually get the half bbq chicken or pulled pork or burnt ends but today on National Cheeseburger Day we tried the cheeseburger. HOLY COW! Came here because of a fundraiser for my son's school, even though I did not like it in the past. BIG MISTAKE! My pulled pork had no flavor unless doused in BBQ sauce. My son's brisket looked grey and tasted like wet paper. I'm not sure how they are preparing their meats but it certainly isn't smoking. Poor service to match the terrible food. Our server left the menus on the table and couldn't be bothered to take my empty beer glass when he brought a second round I orders. I had to chase him down to get my son's flavorless brisket replaced with chicken tenders. He never came to check on us. Ceiling tiles are stained and possibly moldy. Never making this mistake again. If you want BBQ on the area, head on over to Mission BBQ 5-7 minutes away. That is a chain that gets BBQ right. read more

So, we have been going to PA for years and recently we have noticed a decline in service and cleanliness. I was sitting down to look at the menu and saw a bug walking across the table. And when I received my food there was a dead fly on my tender. When I finally got the attention of the waiter, he said there is nothing they can do about it and the manager is not there and said he cannot remove item from bill. I barely ate my food and my family after seeing this did not eat their food either. The waiter offered to replace the food. However, after seeing all the insects I felt sickened and refused the offer. The entire bill was paid, and no one ate their food. I AM EXTREMELY UPSET. 1 Month before that my mother saw the manager walking around with a fly swatter hitting flies on their tables and not cleaning them off after. THIS IS A PROBLEM. DO NOT GO HERE! What Sinatra is to an Italian restaurant, country music is to a good BBQ place. Park Avenue BBQ Grille delivers on both counts. I stopped by this past Saturday while in the area and craving BBQ. It's located in a strip mall next to one or two other restaurants, but Park Avenue is where you want to eat! The decor is also country vernacular, with lots of wood and piggy sculptures :) I like my bbq wet and saucy, and sauces are their specialty. My meat courses (the half chicken and half ribs combo) came out with a tasty lather of sweet BBQ sauce from the start. The chicken was juicy, and the ribs were also meaty. To the base sauce, I sampled all except their mustard sauce. If you're a fan of heat and spice - and if you're brave - check out their "Stupid Hot" sauce. IT IS HOT, YOU WILL SWEAT! Plus it adds a yummy kick to your plate. Mix it with the sweet sauce, take my advice. Sides, they have those too! Do like me and enjoy their sweet baked beans. Fries were a nice texture, they could have had a little more crisp but that's neither here nor there. Use the fries to play with the aforementioned sauces. Their key lime pie is perfectly tart & jiggly. Enjoy! The food is terrible! Got take out and the order was what I ordered and it was not even editable.

To go meal ordered. It was ice cold and old , like it had been sitting all day. When I called to explain , no one would Answer the phone because it was 1minute to closing. After Christmas , I called manager David ... who said he could do nothing for me because I could not bring back the ice cold hard buffalo chicken tenders ... the day after Christmas. Customer service by this manager was non existent . Said he would "lose his job" if he replaced the inedible meal that he charged me for the day before Christmas. PS. Very sad to say this is the worst meal I've (partially) eaten in literal years. We ordered delivery, but it doesn't excuse my entire sandwich being cold. I don't mean lukewarm, I mean cold - literally as if someone had ordered the sandwich earlier, didn't pick it up, and they just stuck it in a fridge until I ordered. Completely inedible this way..which wasn't helped any by the sides. The baked beans were incredibly vinegary & almost ketchup like? The mashed potatoes also had too much garlic - ironic, because I felt like the few bites I took of the Georgia Pig sandwich were bland (maybe because it was missing the BBQ sauce). PA is solid BBQ - I've been coming here my whole life... Ribs are always good and they have great pulled pork, wings, chicken, etc. It's a fun atmosphere - They have a full bar, outdoor seating, and friendly staff. We were babysitting my aunts pets for the weekend and went here for dinner one night. He got the lebron, and i got a half order of ribs with mac & cheese and baked beans. The pickles they put on the table are a NO NO. They are spicy and have a taste of cinnamon...... My boyfriend definitely says the PA grill in boynton was way better. His food was bland with no taste. My ribs were okay, but I for sure have had way better ribs than this place. The mac & cheese was blah. Barely any flavor. Just eh. Baked beans were eh. Corn bread was better than the other sides.Honestly, it was all just okay. Not horrible.... but for sure not amazing. Was very disappointing. Crazy the reviews that say the mac and cheese is so good. EAT HERE! The food is outstanding and the service even better. This restaurant is dedicated to their customers' satisfaction and it means everything. I tell everyone I know -- please support this great restaurant and team. At noon on Christmas Eve, we ordered dinner for 8 people to be delivered at 630pm. It was confirmed through Door Dash/Toast and I received a text to follow the order. The idea was that dinner would be delivered and at our doorstep upon return from Christmas Eve mass, and we could enjoy a great family evening without more cooking and more dishes. At 6pm, I checked the tracking app, and it said the meal was being prepared. I checked again at 615 and 630 -- it still said it was being prepared. At 640 - well past the delivery time -- the app STILL said it was being prepared and not yet picked up. With a house full of hungry guests, I worried and called the number on my confirmation (Door Dash). I reached a representative who called the restaurant and after more than 10 minutes on hold, I received notice that the delivery was cancelled by the restaurant because "they could not fulfill the order." It was almost 7pm and Park Ave BBQ was closing. We jumped in the car and walked in at 710pm (lucky the door was still unlocked) and spoke to the manager. The kitchen staff was in clean up mode and everyone clearly wanted to get home to their families. The manager recognized my name and order, but told me that Door Dash cancelled the order -- not the restaurant! (I'm guessing they had no driver so they cancelled it and blamed the restaurant). I was heartbroken. What would I do for 8 (now starving hangry guests) at my house for Christmas Even dinner and games? The manager and staff came to the rescue and reopened my ticket. Reopened the kitchen and prepared the most incredible meal for us -- with sides and an entire key lime pie. Because of the stress, Christmas, Door Dash -- it was no charge. I am emotional with gratitude for their generosity, thoughtfulness and Christmas spirit. We are now dedicated patrons and look forward to many dinners at Park Ave. BBQ! Merry Christmas all!! The food was good and the service was excellent. I would have given it five stars except for two things; I like my ribs touched by smoke and with a little chew. Don't get me wrong, The flavors were on point, it's just that for me, smoke is the (not so) secret ingredient fora great bbq. My wife on the other hand did not like smoky flavors so, to each his own. My family and I had dinner here this evening and we were very disappointed. My husband ordered the baby back ribs and my daughter and I each ordered a variation of their pulled pork sandwich. All of the pork had that "reheated too many times" flavor and was dry. It also didn't have the traditional smoked flavor at all and I am questioning if it was actually originally cooked on a smoker. It was inedible. My daughter and I didn't eat our sandwiches, they were just that bad. The coleslaw had the weirdest flavor we have ever tasted and we are still trying to figure out what it was. I don't typically like bbq sauce and so I went in with VERY low expectations. We tried the half-rack baby ribs, beef brisket, with corn and beans to share. I wish I had gotten my own because it was delicious. The ribs were surprisingly very flavorful. The briskets were good and reminded me a bit of meatloaf, not sure why. The side of corn wasn't my favorite nor the beans. The price of our meal was very inexpensive. The half-rack and sides was around $20. The food was made so quickly and the service was very friendly and relaxed. This restaurant is a stand-alone store in a plaza with plenty of parking. If you are in the area, I recommend you give a shot. The prices overall are very reasonable. Most of the burgers are around $10 and they do offer a variety of beer and wine options. The restaurant is very similar to a sports bar with TVs and relaxed atmosphere. Great for groups and families. read more

We tried. And we've been to other PA's so we knew what to expect. The food was consistent. They're fried chicken and Buffalo fingers were good. Good sides. Lettuce in the salad had that taste/texture like it's commercially processed, but still green and reasonably crisp. But it's always telling when you get the base of the lettuce head. Barf. My BIG problem is while the service was pleasant and clearly "trained", the place was empty...apparently the hostess never sent a server over as she promised....that took at least 15 minutes for someone to notice us there and say "has anyone waited on you yet?". And he did take care of us at that point... while we realize that the fried chicken is cooked to order and takes a bit as that's what we go to PA's for...45 minutes? Really? Of the place had more than another couple tables I'd say "ok you're understaffed", but the staff was not busy. Life goes on. We wont be back. read more
