They were both good. However the galbi was the star of the show. The bulgogi could have been better. It's nice that it's all prime beef but the bulgogi it's not like you can tell. Decided to come here on a whim today. Walking in, it feels very anticlimactic. Small place, sort of cafeteria-like vibes. One guy working the front and he was friendly and attentive. The food was decent, but certainly not worth what we paid. For what you're paying, you would expect more than sitting at a shitty table, on cheap metal chairs. It's as if they put this place together as inexpensively as possible and then charge more than other local Korean bbq places in the area. I mean, I could go to the breakers and spend a couple hundred bucks on a meal, but I'd be sitting in the Breakers. You can easily spend a couple hundred bucks on a meal here and you're sitting in a hole in the wall at the end of the Publix parking lot, on a metal chair. It was our first time at ROK Prime and we were not disappointed. We did the dinner for 2 which could easily be dinner for 3 as the portions were generous. The quality of the meat was excellent, with a lot of great choices for beef lovers. The Wagyu ribeye seems to a favorite. We ordered the chicken and filet mignon. The banchan was delicious. Located in the Sunshine Square where Smashburger used to be. The decor is not much when you walk in but the staff is super welcoming. Each table has the BBQ grill and you can cook your own or have the staff assist you. I started with a Korean beer, Cass, which was light and refreshing. We ordered Chicken Bimimbap, Galbi, and Bulgogi. The banchan were all very tasty. I normally do not like the fish cake but this was mild. None of the dishes were spicy and if that's your thing I'm sure you can request sauce to up the heat. The Bimimbap was very good. We like to cook our own meat because we like it on the rare side. We really enjoyed Rok Prime Korean BBQ. I would say it's one of the better Korean BBQ restaurants in the area and I've been to a few. Our server was very friendly and food came out pretty quick. I like their grill setup and the look of stainless steal plates and chop sticks. The starting soup and salad were tasty. We tried the steamed gyoza and they were good - a bit doughy. We also had the hot sake' (they didn't have cold sake'). We indulged a bit for our mains, which included Bibim Bap Chicken which was quite good and came out sizzling (see video). We got the Set for 3 including Ribeye, Ny Strip, and Bulgogi. Pretty good quality meats and the bulgogi had a marinated flavor. The shumai dumpling was soft, fluffy and tender but with a very mild taste. I had a spicy pork bento. The pork was tender, not over the top heat and was very tasty. As someone married to a Korean, who cooks Korean food and has eaten at countless KBBQ spots, I found this place to be the worst by far. First, nearly every Korean BBQ restaurant of this caliber offers all-you-can-eat--except for Cote in Miami, whose original location holds a Michelin star. When I arrived, the restaurant was completely empty. The menu surprised me: the short rib was boneless. At KBBQ, the bone is what guarantees you're getting authentic short rib; without it, they could serve any cut and call it "short rib." My bulgogi was equally disappointing--barely marinated, a meager portion for $40, and the grill never got hot enough to actually sear the meat. It ended up steaming rather than barbecuing, no better than the beef in a $10 cheesesteak. The sides were fine, but charging $7 for cheese corn--normally a free side everywhere else--is ridiculous. For the same price, GEN Korean BBQ offers unlimited meat and sides--and isn't hidden in a dead strip mall in Boynton, but on the vibrant Las Olas strip. The service was polite, but the location, pricing, and food quality were laughably bad. I'd be surprised if this restaurant lasts another year. read more

We were searching for Korean Food in the area, ROK Prime is located on Woolbright and S Federal Hwy. it's in one of the smaller building in the strip mall. We went for late lunch and My wife didn't want to get the full grill BBQ so we settled for the preset entrees. There's also no Physical menu only QR scanned menu. We ordered the box set for my daughter, Chicken Karaage with Rice, Salad, Fried Mandu, Jap Chae and Miso Soup (sauce was already drizzle on top of chicken we didn't know, was little spicy but my daughter liked it), then we ordered the Spicy Pork Bulgogi with rice and Banchan (Korean Side dishes, they were out of a few items but the ones they gave us was very delicious), I order the Seafood Pancake and the Bibimbab (grilled sliced pork with mixed veggies and fried egg) I gotta say all of the dishes were delicious!! Yelp always puts me on! I was browsing on Yelp one night and thinking about going to the usual kbbq spot in Boynton, when I saw that ROK Prime was open. Wow! I love ROK down in Lauderhill. I'm so glad these are the same owners. This only difference I see is that the Boynton location does not have an AYCE option. We decided to try it out on a Saturday night. They are open late Friday and Saturday until 11pm. Very much a pro. We walked in - not even realizing this is a soft opening - and they were busy. A lot of the tables were already taken up. We saw a very clean restaurant with kpop videos playing. The staff working the dining room seemed to be working together as well. We were seated at a table and scanned a QR code to look at the menu. We were 2 adults and 1 kid. They allowed us to order the meal for 2. It was plenty of food. We had received 2 meats to cook, rice, jabchae, salad, soup, corn and cheese appetizer, and side dishes. This is not a bad place to eat at! It was clean, the waiter was polite, showed me what I was looking for and they got right on it. I was the only customer, so it got cooked pretty fast. For $22 I got a small portion of white rice, a salad and some noodles. They were very small portions. Transparently, I could have eaten at the mall do better food, at half the price. 01-05-2025 Having eagerly looked forward to this place opening, it actually took me a little time to make it in, but tonight I did. Although there isn't a ton of parking right out front, this is part of a shopping center so there are plenty of spots around. Walking in, we were immediately assailed by the noise. Between the industrial looking interior, hard surfaces, metal chairs, etc., there is absolutely nothing to soften the din. Talking across a table can be difficult, from one end of a table to the other seems like it would be impossible. Our server Vickie showed up right away, friendly and helpful, she explained the menu, and each item when she brought it out. We ordered an appetizer and the dinner for 2, which for us meant calamari followed by ribeye and pork belly. First up was a a bunch of Banchan (fish cakes, pickled onion, rice, kimchee, black beans, pickled cabbage, and cucumber kimchee. ) and what was probably the best miso soup I've ever had, and a big plate of salad. As previously stated in other reviews the dressing is phenomenal. Think about the typical Asian ginger dressing, now ramp up the flavor and complexity, really good! A delicious baked corn and cheese dish was presented that neither of us had before but both of us loved, and then Japchae came next, I'd never had it before and it was okay, a plate of semi translucent noodles with veggies, but nothing I'd order again. When our Calamari appetizer was set down we ooohed and ahhed, but sadly the squid was a little rubbery, and the chili sauce a little too sweet. Good but not great. Our cooktop started, the ribeye steak that came out was placed on the grill to sear, it was beautifully marbled, delicious without so much as even salt or pepper and the fatty pork belly cooked up crunchy and sticky and delicious. There are no physical menus, just a QR code on the table. Not a big fan of this covid-era menu practice. The restaurant itself was clean, open concept, dark and industrial-like. We ordered the Seafood pancake, cheese and corn, bulgogi, pork katsu and spicy pork. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, and our food came out quickly. We were abit confused as the food came out already cooked but after inquiring about this, our waiter said that the lunch menu is cooked for you while the dinner menu is cooked at the table. It's unfortunate because we came here for the Korean bbq experience and we were not notified that there would be a difference between lunch and dinner or we would have went with dinner. From it's house-made Kimchi to its mouth-watering bulgogi and ribeye, grilled right in front of you, this unassuming (from the outside) little gem of a restaurant will make your tastebuds dance. Upon entering the restaurant, we noticed a case full of Korean beer, wine, and soft drinks. The manager, Joseph, made sure our first dining experience there was memorable, manning the grill for us himself and describing each dish in detail -- asking up front if we had any allergies. Metal chop sticks were waiting at each place -- but he quickly brought out forks upon request. He also asked if we wanted cushions for our chairs -- a nice touch, as they were a bit hard. As a huge fan of Bulgogi and Japchae--and someone who grew up in California where Korean food is seriously next level--I honestly didn't expect to find anything this good in the Palm Beach area. But Rok completely blew me away. The food is exceptional. Every dish bursts with authentic flavor, and the quality is top-tier. The Bulgogi is tender and perfectly seasoned, and the Japchae has that ideal balance of savory and sweet. I truly felt like I was back home in LA. What makes Rok even more special is the service. This is an authentic Korean BBQ 'gem of a restaurant' on the corner of Woolbright and Federal near Publix and next to Truist. It's a bit hard to see it, but don't quit. There is easy free parking. Once inside you are treated to excellent Korean BBQ, and an extensive menu of beautifully prepared Korean selections. The meats are prime cuts, and all ingredients delicious. We discovered Rok Prime on a Tuesday evening and loved it. Five days later we were back for more. Our server was Joseph. He was enthusiastic and helpful in cooking the bulgogi and galbi at our table.
