Was in the mood for a Great burger. Decided on returning to the Corner Galley. Love this old school Irish Pin restaurant. Owner is super nice and the burgers are great here as well. Saw that they had a rib steak special for Wednesdays so went with that instead. Glad I did. Was huge. Was able to split it with my girlfriend. Coles with a salad and a glass of wine or soda. The place is great but the only reason I'm giving it a 3 star is because the Chicken parmigiana I had was not fresh. Last time I went there I got the same thing. It was perfectly cooked , crispy from the being breaded and fried, juicy from being cooked right. Presentation was great. You can tell it was made fresh to order. This time I had it , you can tell it wasn't made fresh to order. It was soggy and not very juicy. I don't know if it's a new cook or the chef is getting lazy. My friend got the chicken cordon blu, same thing but presentation was ugly. They need to go back to basics and make fresh to order. read more

I've been hearing about this spot forever. My sis and i havent seen each other in a minute due to the nonstop Wu Flu shit so we finally made a plan to go grab a bite today before King Cuomo closes everything down. We had a wonderful server. She was awesome. We started with baked clams and Kellie had wine i had Diet Coke. I got the burger w ff and brown gravy on side. She got bacon cheeseburger with coleslaw on side. Both were cooked perfectly and delish. I could only eat half cause they give you free salad as well so i will enjoy it later tonight or tomorrow for breakfast. They all wore gloves and masks etc and were super careful with social distancing. We had a lot of laughs and im sure applalled the people sitting behind us with our raunchy stories. The happy hour is great appetizers 2 for price of 1. A favorite of mine is the mussels. Lunch and dinner specials salad meal and half pitchers of soda beer or my favorite sangria. The waiters great service is prompt meals always tasty. The decor is that of a sailing vessel , local people where you will always meet someone you know. A pitcher of sangria with my meal...not sure if I could even invent a problem with that! We came here on a Saturday night after a long day of moving with some friends, place was crowded but not so much that there was a wait! We were immediately greeted by multiple staff members. We got a complimentary salad for the table...nice change from the usual bread baskets! I ordered the roast beef melt on garlic bread with mozzarella and a side of fries with white sangria as my beverage choice. The others got burgers and beer pitchers. We hadn't been here in awhile since we were out of the area.. First week back, we went for dinner. we had a great waitress named Tara, who has worked there a long time. We actually went for the prime rib and steak. They we're available, but we had no problem picking out something else. When we talked to Tara, she explained they were having difficulty getting the steak and being able to charge a reasonable price. She spoke to the chef and she said they will try to offer prime rib at least 1 night soon. Check out their Facebook for updates. The Corner Galley is small, but has a very homey feel to it. The decor is nothing special, but the service and the food definitely is! Their pricing is very fair and they offer great deals and specials throughout the week. I've come here with my boyfriend quite a few times and with the order of an entree we are each given the option of beer pitchers or sangria pitchers. My girlfriend brought me here after she hasn't been in about 20+ years. First of all, the blue cheese. Wow. We had the fried pickles, which were great, and then along came a cheeseburger and French fries. They were really good, but what left a huge impression were the onion rings. This is the epitome of a small-town family establishment. The people who work here, have worked here for years, which says a lot about the management, in a good way. I learned about this gem 30 years ago when I was dating a girl from the area. Was always a fantastic deal - terrific portions, free salad and free beer/wine as well with your meal. Nowadays I am not in Massapequa area often, but when I am I make sure I stop in for one of their delicious oversized burgers! Swung by on Tuesday night with the family for dinner and they did not disappoint. Burger still tremendous & tastes amazing and comes with fries & onion rings. Salad to start was delicious and the ice cold pitcher of beer that came with it sure hit the spot! As an added bonus, on Tuesday night they have kid's meal for $5.00! Worked out great for my youngest son, who loved their chicken fingers & french fries. And of course the service at Corner Galley is ALWAYS top notch! I had the worst experience here on Friday. I was alone and needed to just relax and enjoy lunch. I did not. The last time I was here was years ago. I would go in and sit with my father for lunch or dinner. I asked the waitress if they still had the salad where they bring you the carousel of dressings. She didn't know what I was talking about and said well that's for like 8 people isn't it. I said well I'm one person (rude) but forget it. All I wanted was a salad. I decided on the Caesar salad and she was so confused by my order. She asked me if it was on the menu. I said yes right here (pointing) and I want it with shrimp. She goes into the back and comes back and says "ok I checked and they normally don't make this but they will for you today". I mean is it me?? It's a salad. I said do they not have lettuce? She said hey can do it for you. Ok then. After like 15 minutes she comes back with something resembling a salad, definitely not a Caesar with shrimp. My first instinct was to just send it back and I should have but didn't want to be "that" customer. It did NOT have Caesar dressing. It was gross. The lettuce was so weird. I was questioning if it was even lettuce. It was definitely not romaine or any type of bagged lettuce that I've ever seen. It was dark green and velvety to the touch. It was also hot and it wasn't from the shrimp. No cheese or anything just a few random croutons. I ate the shrimp tried to pick at the lettuce until I just couldn't. Honestly if you don't know what a Caesar salad is take it off the menu. Never going back to The Corner Galley. This was a huge FAIL on their part. So my cousin has been going to Corner Gallery for over 40 years... My mom and sister were in town and there were a few others who joined us... Wait staff was so attentive, and they really hustle as the place was jam packed on a Saturday night. Unlimited Salad, beer, wine and soda... limited on the salad dressing choices, but not horrible overall... Multiple bowls of salad came to the table and were fresh. Everyone enjoyed their meal... from Scallops, sliced steak sandwiches, shrimp and pasta dishes...all of us were really pleased with their meal. The place has a very dated vibe about it... wooden tables, chairs and booths... all were filled. There was a fair amount of noise and chatter with the Saturday crowd... Honestly.. the place might not be a heck of a lot to look at, but the portions and service were spot on... and that Sliced Steak Sandwich was one of the best I've ever had. Since "inside" dining was phased back in on Long Island, my husband & I have eaten at Corner Galley several times & have totally enjoyed our experience . The food is always amazing & the owners & staff have taken every precaution to ensure a clean, safe environment & comply with all the new regulations . If you want to go out to eat again, but are still feeling nervous , this is a great place to go. They also offer outdoor seating if you prefer not to eat indoors yet. read more

Awesome local bar/restaurant! The bartenders are super friendly and attentive. I went there on a busy Saturday eve and sat at a small table by the bar. The day bartender (Christa) that was coming off shift made sure we were taken care of right before she walked out the door. While the decor is more akin to Grandma's basement, the flavorful entrees and appetizers are more akin to Grandma's kitchen. A welcoming staff and attentive servers are a very nice touch. My husband and I started out with the (included) salad and mini-pitcher of sangria. Both were better than expected. We followed that with coconut shrimp and baked clams. The baked clams were delicious - both garlicy and peppery and packed with clam pieces. The coconut shrimp was very good, but did lack that coconut punch. For entrees, we enjoyed the sauerbraten and steak melt. My husband is a critical judge of sauerbraten. This sauerbraten was very good! The gravy was very rich and full of flavor. On the side, the potato pancakes were impeccable - a perfect compliment. I had the steak melt - again, delicious. The steak was like butter and it married wonderfully with the garlic bread and melty mozzarella. We were way too full to try dessert! Overall - this is an easy reccomend! We will be back! read more

So after more than 4 years & as the Covid19, pandemic after leaving Long Island mostly alone for the first 7 mos. has now roared into the area along w'certain politically charged conversations regarding masks & if outdoor seating is really all that necessary I must do an update! This long time restaurant is owned by two Massapequa natives who as young men choose to cook & tend bar at various other restaurants. At some point they ended up @CG doing so for the previous owners who were considering retirement. Having become friends these men deceided to pool their resources and commit to the jobs they had learned to be quite proficient at! Now after almost 15 years of a very successful business they, like EVERY other eating/drinking establishment in our C'try, are having a tough time w'all the extra expenses created by the pandemic and at the same time having greatly reduced business! After Sandy hit back in '12 they opened up the place in welcome to any & all who were w'out heat when the weather turned seriously cold as soon as the water had subsided. In the Massapequas it has become somewhat of a *thing* to denounce Gov. Cuomo for his mask & social distancing rules & by publicly not wearing a mask to show disdain by NOT conforming to his rules. Unfortunately owners of some restaurants in the area are also 'relaxing' the rules for their guests, either because they are of the same mindset or customers have threatened not to patronize places w'strict adherence! It's NOT surprising that this behavior in many places in NY has seriously increased the infection rate! I understand there is *heated* discussion on this from both sides & I want to make sure those who care about their own health should look to CG as the safest of places to go out & enjoy a meal! They are very thorough in the 'change over' @ a table between patrons...a new paper table cloth, new condiments etc. are set out. Social distancing in their dining room is always applied, there are large translucent panels installed even @ the bar to enforce the spacing. Everyone MUST wear masks or they will be forced to leave. Repeatedly 'forgetting' to put your mask on when even just standing @ the bar will bring a reprimand! With the colder weather they dispensed w'the tent since few were using it but I have been told that should anyone want to eat outdoors on some warmish afternoon/eve. it can be arranged! My husband & I did so in Nov. a few times and it was lovely as they have quite a spacious area on both the S & W side of the main entrance. These owners believe in the health & safety measures that all bars & restaurants have been requested to take and they are making it possible for those like myself looking to enjoy the amenities in our area even as we struggle w'this pandemic! In prior reviews I have complained about the lack of a vegan entrée but I am happy to report a Beyond Burger is now available and w'all the salad one can eat a standard offering @ CG I am 'beyond' happy! A 'default' vegan soup like butternut squash, potato leek, black bean or minestrone done w'veg. broth instead of beef or chicken would be a really great treat! My husband, on the other hand, is totally an omnivore but a 'picky' one & he and one of the guys he works with (also a bit picky) eat a late lunch here @ least once a week and will go to no other place on the days they don't bring lunch in to work! Great place located on a busy corner in Massapequa. Unlimited salad and beer (or wine) plus all the foods are really good- the place gets packed out but it has been that way for years so the servers are really good at handling the rush. Wonderful experience but if you have a gift certificate make sure you bring cash. Waiter gave my boyfriend and I a hard time because he thought the remaining balance did not reach a 10$ minimum. We had a $50 gift certificate, the remaining balance was $11.75 should have be able to use the remaining balance on card with tip. My boyfriend had to leave and go to the cash up the road. After a few mins someone who had a reservation who really didn't ( person was previously at the bar alone then asked for a table cause her friend was coming last minute) was waiting for the table. The manager made me get up I then said they should write the rules of any remaining balance on gift certificate that way costumer knows. Will not be returning such a stressful rude experience and I just wanted a calm low-key night out. read more
