Pearl Kitchen & Cocktails is a hidden gem and after eating here several times, I can confidently say it never disappoints! The food is consistently delicious, and their cocktail menu is absolute top-tier. I usually go with the Lychee Coconut cocktail, which is wonderfully refreshing and smooth. My husband recently enjoyed the Two Sheets to the Wind. We have had their fresh east coast oysters, tuna tartar, the crispy and flavorful Bang Bang Shrimp, and the Prosciutto Flatbread topped with arugula, fig jam, and goat cheese. You also cannot skip out on their "Quebec Famous" poutine, it is completely divine with crispy fries, mozzarella, and savory gravy. Came here for dinner on a weeknight and had no issues getting seated quickly without a reservation. I liked the ambiance of the restaurant, and the servers were all very nice. Our food came out quickly as well. My main thing is we enjoyed the appetizers, but the entrees were just okay. The Thai Peanut Calamari was my favorite -- I hope this never gets taken off the menu! The Shishito Peppers were also good. When it came to the other food, the Mac and Cheese as well as the Short Rib unfortunately just didn't hit the spot. Surprised by the lovely, bright & open bar and well made cocktails & food. Bartender Madison did a great job and has a promising future mixing up some fabulous drinks. Unassuming would be the correct word, in a strip mall where years ago we must have visited for one of the original AYCE sushi places. More recently, there was a pub that had live music. You may know it as the strip with the Post Office & Bottle Values (what I picture a liquor store in the former USSR feeling like. Lee & I made the mistake of not heading East into Carle Place/Garden City for a celebratory cocktail, we attempted to try The Foundry in Hicksville, but that was incredibly short lived. Pearl Kitchen & Cocktails turned out to be a nice choice. I enjoyed a Bee's Knees, perfectly made in a Nick & Nora glass (a way to place less spirits than a coupe) and Lee enjoyed a Mezcal concoction on the rocks which he enjoyed. We had some fabulous Mussels in a white broth and the Thai Calamari with peanut dressing. Both memorable. The owners are not novice restaurateurs. I believe if this is correct, one is of KYMA and the other was somewhere that I was familiar with the bunch of names. We would return, yes..but the overall setting and vibe was true to a strip mall. I came here last night (Saturday) with three other friends. One of them made a reservation for 7:45pm though it wasn't busy so not sure if a reservation was necessary or required. This place is located in a strip mall with plenty of free parking and looked like it was closed when we arrived so don't turn away! It's just how it looks haha. We were seated right away and the modern style decor inside was beautiful! The wait staff was very attentive and our water was always getting refilled. The menu had a good amount of choices but I ended up choosing their Shrimp Scampi in Spaghetti Squash (I forgot the exact name because it was one of their specials). I chose it because it sounded unique and it tasted as well as looked amazing! My friends got the Salmon, a Louisiana Chicken dish (one of the specials so I forgot the exact name) and a Burger with Sweet Potato Fries. For appetizers we shared Truffle Parmesan Fries and the Thai Peanut Calamari. The Fries tasted okay but the Calamari was absolutely delicious and came with a good amount. Prices were reasonable and I liked that it wasn't too loud so nobody at our table had to yell while conversing. We were there roughly two hours and it never got very crowded. The staff seemed nice when we came in, and the place definitely has a local spot vibe. Also, really cute decor. If you don't already know about it, you could easily miss it since it's tucked in what looks like a strip mall. The food overall was just okay. I had to ask for replacement utensils because mine had stains, and my plate had some spots that looked like more than just dishwasher watermarks, which was not the best first impression. We all tried different things, but no one at the table seemed blown away. One friend ordered a medium rare burger and got well done, another asked for well done and it came out burnt. The shrimp tacos were described as "just okay." I got the fish and chips and though they were edible, they were not well seasoned. It honestly tasted like the fish was just battered and fried without much flavor. On the bright side, they give a huge portion of truffle fries, which everyone seemed to like, (I didn't try them), and I did enjoy the lychee mocktail because that was really good. I'm not in Long Island too often, but if I were back in the area, I'd probably try other spots on my list before circling back here. read more

Wow what an amazing place! The ambiance and decor is beautiful and unique! The service is perfect. The food is SO delicious! I've had everything from brunch (pancakes, egg tacos and bagel lox yum!) The lunch and dinner I've had includes the bang bang shrimp! (Much better than toku!), pad Thai calamari is so scrumptious and fresh with a delicious sauce. Oysters were great! Fresh, shucked perfect and chilled well. Fish tacos were deep fried a bit heavy but tasted good. I had seared Ahi tuna for main. It was cold and a bit tough but seemed fresh. Ok this place is unassuming- it's tucked away in a strip mall - you have to really look for it otherwise you wouldn't know it's there - but once inside it's decorated beautifully and very welcoming - there's art on the wall, pretty light fixtures and a welcoming bar. We arrived for happy hour / it was pretty empty -2 folks at the bar and a table with a couple. We sat at the bar and the staff was very attentive and informative with the menu items and drinks. The wine I wanted wasn't available and they offered a Tasting to make sure I liked the alternative- the bartender was very knowledgeable about the drinks and made great suggestions - we ordered fish tacos, poutine, meatball, margherita flatbread all were amazing . We had all wanted to come here for Christmas night, it looked perfect and everyone loved the menu. It was for my grandma's birthday so I jumped and made the reservation online. It was a glitch and they were actually sadly closed. As they called to tell me they offered any other time and a credit or something I cannot remember lol. Day after Christmas most of my family left so it took us a little to actually get to come here as my mom refused to let us go without her lol. For appetizers we ordered the Thai peanut calamari, fish tacos and shisito peppers. The adults also got a Ceasar salad to share. For entrees we shared the Ahi Tuna, short rib and Chicken Milanese. If I could give 3.5 stars that would be the most accurate rating for it, so out of kindness I will round up to 4. Went to dinner with another couple. Our dinner was at 6 pm and the crowd at the restaurant was older (we are in our mid-40s) which is understandable. As it got closer to 8 the crowd changed and the restaurant got significantly louder. So loud we found ourselves yelling to each other. The atmosphere is nice. The waitstaff was fine but we found ourselves looking for our waitress from time to time. Also the refilling of our water glasses was pretty infrequent. The food was fine. Definitely nothing to write home about. We shared hummus, Caesar salad and a flatbread pizza to start. Live within walking distance and had never been here until a few weeks ago. Caught Friday happy hour early with husband. There were few customers at the time so we had the bar and bartender (Jayson) pretty much to ourselves. Nice! He was friendly and personable. I had a mojito and him a beer (only serve bottles). My drink was yummy. Fresh mint from their own plants. We ate a few bar items on special (poutine was one) and a shrimp cocktail. Everything was very good. Came here on a Friday night - live DJ! The staff were so welcoming and friendly; they gave great recommendations! If you go and Jay is working you must get Jays Margarita (the hostess's fav). Food ordered was the Garlic Parm chicken wings - light and flavorful and not greasy at all.. juicy! The place is beautiful and in concept is such nice addition to the area. The food is just ok, I have not loved anything I've had the few times I've been but others at the table have enjoyed theirs. What will most likely stop me from returning on my own were the very strange interactions between the employees/management/owner(?)... the conversation consisted of management complaining to the bartender that even though he mentioned he was feeling sick that he wouldn't be able to go home, management complaining about an employee who did not respond to a text about showing up for a shift and other strange conversation while they sat a few seats from us as the bar. It was a very confusing experience for people taking their time to spend money on a nice time at an otherwise empty establishment. I don't feel great about giving my time and money to a business that seems to not be a great place to work. read more

Food was better than okay didn't fit the rest of the place if that make sense but to be fair only had flat bread and a few diff apps (wings could've had a little more sauce ans be spicier but solid ) Brussels Def needed to be crispier but reheated then next day and we're great. Bartender Jay was so welcoming and took great care of us. The rest of the staff and owners were also very friendly. While I didn't get pictures of the food it was all very good. You're not going to find anything particularly different or standout on the menu from any other American restaurant. Has your American restaurant classics but they're done well. We got the bang bang shrimp to start. The sauce was killer. Jay also brought some out for us to dip our fries in. Amazing. For entrees we got the pork chop and the grilled chicken sandwich. The pork chop was huge and cooked perfectly covered in some hot peppers that paired well with the richness of the chop. I went back forth on the chicken sandwich because they can be bland and dry. Honestly it was the best seasoned grilled chicken sandwich I ever had. We got several of their cocktails and they were all so good. We had a great meal with friends last night at Pearl. Delicious cocktails to start the meal. Appetizers and main dishes were all well prepared. I had the pork chop and it might have been the best pork chop I ever had. Only downside is that it it's pretty loud even without live music. There was background music playing that wasn't necessary. My cheeseburger was a bit overcooked but delicious. The owners are all over the dining room schmoozing with every table. You're made to feel like a welcomed guest from all the staff. Lara was our server and was spot on. So why just a 4 star review? The place is busy and it's a very social scene. They could use more service on the floor.
