We had Sydney as our server, and she was absolutely incredible so attentive, friendly, and made the whole night even better. The appetizers were phenomenal, and we got the Asian short rib tacos, which were absolutely amazing! Everything was delicious and the service was top notch. A cute farm to table restaurant in an even cuter town. The peas in every dish sang and loved the creativity of their deconstructed cheesecake dish. The service was lovely and we had a wonderful experience overall. Small note -- one strawberry on the dessert was a tad bruised and the scallops were a bit too salty. Arrived at 317 Main in Farmingdale for an early dinner, probably around 5 PM. There were plenty of tables available, and our waitress promptly came over, offered suggestions for my drink choice, and provided friendly service throughout the meal. My date and I decided to try the French onion soup. We both really enjoyed the flavorful, light broth. The presentation was stellar. It was literally served inside an onion. Our waitress gave us a steak knife so we could "go to town" on the actual yellow Spanish onion, and of course, we did. Inside, there were some cheese and onion pieces, along with what seemed to be crispy fried onions on top. The menu stated that the soup contained five different types of onions, but surprisingly, it wasn't overly "oniony" or cheesy. I also missed the crunch of a traditional crouton, which was not included. The onion itself barely held much of the filling, but I would still order this again because I really enjoyed the beautiful, delicate wine and beef broth taste. Instead of ordering a full entrée, I chose the octopus appetizer for my meal. It was beautifully cooked. The dish brought two tentacles which were very tender. It also had a wonderful char on top. Underneath was a romesco sauce with a subtle hint of spice. On top of the octopus was a combination of greens with fennel and olives. If you don't enjoy acidic flavors, I wouldn't recommend this dish. There was a strong vinegar acidity throughout. Personally, I love acidic foods, so this was a wonderful surprise for me. That said, I wouldn't call the dish well-balanced. The acidity definitely takes over, even with the romesco sauce. For my palate, though, it worked beautifully. My date selected the barbecue brisket sandwich with French fries. It was a nice portion. Both of our drinks were well balanced yet strong. The flavors were bold and interesting in each dish we tried. My only real critique was that the French onion soup didn't have enough of the actual ingredients inside the onion. Still, the broth was delicious, and the presentation made it visually appealing. read more

It's funny how my husband and I ended up here for breakfast. We had planned on going out to eat at a nearby breakfast spot, but once we got there, we noticed how small the space was. Ultimately, it became a no-go for today. Thankfully 317 Main Street was close by. We arrived at opening and were quickly seated. The restaurant was larger than I thought. I really appreciated the layout. The tables were nicely arranged, and there was really cool artwork on the wall. After looking over the menu, my husband ordered the 317 Triple Blend Burger with a Caesar Salad, and I decided on the Chicken & Sweet Potato Skillet. Both were relatively good. The burger was flavorful, but it did have a bit of a charred taste, not off-putting, but would've prefferred a little less time on the grill. The salad was great. The skillet was exactly what I wanted, clean ingredients that were tasty and quite filling. We would definitely return to try more menu items, in addition to attending any of the special cooking events they host, as their event space was lovely. Let's begin with the appetizer, buffalo bacon chicken dip. This dish itself can win awards. Absolutely delicious with a perfect balance of heat and flavor. Made with real shredded chicken (no canned) and served with the house thick cut potato chips that can hold up to the weight and thickness of the dip. A must try! Garlic basil shrimp - 6 beautiful shrimp on a bed of perfectly executed risotto. That's not easy. The flavors of the basil and garlic compliment each other delightfully. Delivers on flavor. My only concern is the portion. It's more of an appetizer than a main course. 6 shrimp is awesome, problem is the amount of risotto. I want more! It's addictive! Need more. Dish as it is suffices just enough to get a little spoon of rice with every shrimp. Let's call it an ozempic portion. Spanish paella - well executed, moist and a good amount of seafood. The flavors overall in this one didn't meet expectations. One of the mussels were unopened. The chicken tasted dry. Sausage was missing in the sense of what I would expect. It had sausage bits but they didn't really bring that blend of flavor I was hoping for. Am I coming back? Dang right! If only just for the buffalo dip. It's THAT good. Have visited this location varies times the last few years and have had the opportunity to really taste many of their different seasonal menu offerings, which are always designed to eat with your eyes first. ;) Additionally its worth mentioning to save room for dessert as they have quite the tasty selection, as you can see from my various pics. ;) Service has always been on point, so combine that with delicious food offerings and more than ample street and municipal parking, you can't go wrong stopping in any day of the week. Even with reservations, we still waited about 5-10 minutes to be seated and around 30 minutes for the food. The paella was a bit salty for my taste, but the cod dish was good and the side of mashed potatoes was decent too. I also wanted a cucumber avocado roll, but they don't allow modifications on their rolls since the rolls are pre-made. Overall still a good spot if you don't mind the wait. read more

The few times my service has been less than par has been happy hour so I let it go but I finally tried their brunch today and it was unprofessional. We placed our order about 20min in, and got our food approx. 10 min later. After that we never saw our server again and when we asked for our bill and a last mimosa (only had 2-3, never saw her again so figured we'd ask with our bill) she said we were over our time frame. When I asked her to double check her time frame seeing as she ignored us 75% of our time, she said she'd talk to her manager, threw 2 glasses of OJ on our table with our bill and said "thanks." It was rude and uncomfortable and confirms how I've always felt every other time I've come here. Got there for dinner at 8. Had a reservation and we got seated promptly. I will say parking is not so easy. So if you're going at a busy time set aside some time to park. The place is very inviting. Decided to give the movie- dine in experience here another chance. I'm really happy that I did, much more pleasant experience this time around watching ratatouille. The decorations were really cute and well placed. Customer service was a lot better for personally but I did witness the staff drop the ball a couple of times for another guests. The grilled cheese and tomato soup stole the show for me but I also really enjoyed the chicken parm and ratatouille. The caesar salad was really soggy and the chocolate mousse cup for dessert wasn't really anything special. I ordered a drink from the regular menu this time around instead of the drinks designated for the movie and although the drink was extremely overpriced I did enjoy it. Only issue I have with this restaurant is that every time you walk in unless you have a reservation they always tell you there is a wait meanwhile there is plenty available seating. We went to 317 Main for the first time with another couple. Just an FYI the parking situation on a Saturday night is challenging, but the meal was worth it. We enjoyed some appetizers and our entrees. Paella was good, scallops very good and the burgers are big. It is a loud environment so if you are looking for a quiet place , don't go. Definition of Chef's kiss. I love my Queens but I do miss my Farmingdale. When we moved 317 Main was a baby. I love that it's flourished. They host Dine-In themed movie nights. They also do other themed nights like bingo and trivia. We came for a friend's birthday. He wanted brunch with just the adults, no kids allowed (we loved it when we get to do this because it doesn't happen often). They nailed down this spot as it was one of the few places that took reservations for a party of 12 and they had a bottomless brunch deal ($25 for 90 minutes of mimosas, bloody Mary's and other designated drinks). The food was smashing. I got the Cuban grilled cheese which was everything I needed for brunch. It came with fries which I shared. Our friends got Cinnabuns for the table and they were fawned over. And just like years ago, when they first opened, the Chef came out to say hi and see how we liked our meal. It's was absolutely awesome. The service, was top notch. While I came for brunch, I wanted to stay for BINGO! I had a great time for my 90 minutes of Mimosas. Tried a couple of breakfast dishes and they were tasty and contained CLEAN ingredients! The server was attentive and timely. I also had to try my personal favorite, deviled eggs and they came prepared in 3 different ways. All different flavors and tasty nonetheless. None were traditional, some had more of a vinegar taste, the avocado a light flavor, and I would order it again! The venue is HUGE. The bathrooms were nice and clean. Apparently seats at least 100 people in the front of the restaurant and there was a large room in the back where bingo was being hosted. This place started off well. Now, its dropped a significant amount. Food is eh, bar service is pretty awful. Ordered a tequila soda, and about inch and a half of the top of the glass was empty. Staff stands off to the side chatting. Ordered $30 meal and it was a super small serving size. Hate seeing a great start, then a place does well...and it goes down the toilet.
