If I could give this place zero stars I would. I can't even begin to express my level of fury at this business. We brought our dog in for an appointment, was told it would possibly take all day and we could pick him up later. Fast forward to a time much earlier than anticipated. We received a call that our boy was ready. When my husband showed up, the lady, who we now are told is the owner, started ringing up my husband without ever bringing our pup out (weird). She also proceeded to explain how to leave a tip, my husband made a joke that what would happen if after he paid our dog came out looking like a poodle. I would have taken him looking like a poodle to what we have been dealing as a consequence of this appointment. When they opened the door to go get our boy, my husband called to him and saw him hesitate to come to him. He started walking and instantly collapsed. His back legs gave out on him and he was in visible distress. He kept trying to stand up and walk out the door. We asked what the hell happened that he now can't walk! We were told nothing had happened that he had arrived for his appointment like that. We would completely understand if we had gotten a call that he had maybe fallen off the table, slipped in the ground SOME SORT OF EXPLANATION! We received NO information! There is no way nothing happened! Our dog was somehow injured during his appointment and this business is refusing to own up to something happening! OUR DOG WALKED INTO THAT SALON AND COULDNT WALK BACK OUT! We rushed him to the emergency vet. He was kept overnight for bloodwork, X-rays, mri, and also to have a catheter inserted as he doesn't have the stability to use his back legs to potty. I would recommend NO ONE go here! They are acting very shady and they take your money before you even get to see your dog. ZERO STARS read more

I am not a customer but was in the parking lot for another business. Saw an employee being SUPER aggressive with a Golden Retriever who was obviously just scared. He was pulling REALLY hard on the leash and the dog just needed to go to the bathroom. If this was your dog, never use them again. read more

I've been a client for a few years and I have been trying to get in touch with them via phone. Finally, I drove by, today, to find out the company is closed. I'm extremely disappointed that they did not reach out to their clients to inform them of the closure. It's difficult to find a good pet groomer. New to Dallas area, very pleased with her haircut! After reading the few negative reviews I was worried about two things, 1) time spent crated before she was groomed, and 2) nails being clipped good/ no razor burns. Pros; - dropped her off at noon, they called me to pick her up at 2:30 pm which is pretty good! - nails/ overall haircut looks good they did exactly what I was hoping for. Cons; - In general, when walking into the salon It looks unorganized with stacks of papers, and leaves me thinking the behind the scenes is kind of a mess. It is pretty bare, and there was no one at the front to greet me, so, maybe they are a bit low staffed as well? -After farther inspection I noticed the underside of my dog had a quarter-sized red circular mark almost like her skin was pinched but it didn't bleed. I am not sure if this is from their razor? I did notice she had some slight irritation and razor burn on her underside. She is older so her skin is more saggy. Which, makes me nervous that the razor could have clipped her and left that red mark. She doesn't seem bothered by it, and isn't licking it. I am also not sure since her hair was so long as to if she had it before or not. I will continue to monitor. 4 stars for everything seeming perfect except the mysterious red mark which I can't say for sure was their doing and the questionable organization of the store. I may try out another place just to see how they do, and come back here if they can't book me. The price was reasonable! read more

Disappointed to leave Park Cities Pet Salon after a couple of years, but it has gone downhill. Was told to bring my dog in at 10 the night before and that they would be closing by 5. At 5 PM, I went to get my dog even though that hadn't called. She hadn't been touched. She had sat in a cage all day long. Not ok!! In addition, I also have a hard time reaching Karen (like the other reviews have stated). Not sure what's going on, but I won't be back. :( read more

After researching and reviewing pet salons all over DFW for my puppy's first hair cut I decided to try them out and have been a faithful customer ever since. They take their time and listen to all of your feedback and answer all of your questions. You even have 24 hours to come back in for a free retouch which I utilized today when I decided I wanted Birdee's hair just a little shorter. They were more than accommodating. I took my two fur babies to get their hair cut on Saturday. I have a blue Heeler/border collie mix, Harley that has pretty thick medium length hair. He was shedding really bad and I asked for him to get shaved. I also have a Cairn Terrier that has similar hair to a Yorkie and I asked for a teddy bear face and to leave about an inch of hair all over her body. When I called to make the appointment it was hard to get any pricing out of the person who answered. I understand that it's best for them to see the dog before they give an estimate but I was just trying to budget enough money. They said when I come in they would let me know. I dropped my dogs off at 8:55am and my appointment was at 9am. There weren't many dogs there yet and the guy that greeted me was actually a groomer me didn't give me any pricing. He was really nice and my dogs really liked him which made me feel better to leave them. After 3 hours I hadn't heard anything so I called because I was trying to make plans for my day and didn't want my dogs to have to stay in a kennel once they were finished. The guy that answered the phone couldn't tell me when they would be finished. In fact they hadn't even started Miley my Cairn Terrier which really shocked me. When I came back to pick up my dogs the staff was kind but when I checked out they still couldn't tell me why they charged me what they did. It makes me feel uncomfortable that they don't have prices listed and no one could tell me why they charged me what they did. It feels almost like dishonest like there isn't a rhythm or reason to the charges. They mentioned that it had to do with the weight of the dogs but Harley weighs 40lbs and Miley weighs 11lbs and they cost almost exactly the same. Just didn't make sense to me. I will say that my dogs looked really good. The groomers did a great job and my dogs were really happy. The reason for 2 stars is because of the lack of communication and openness on pricing as well as the lack of organization on appointments. I don't have a problem with what I paid, I just have a problem with things not being explained. Just keep these things in mind and you will be okay with your experience here. read more

I was very disappointed in this groomer. My pets usually go to another park city pet salon but decided to opt for this one because it had availibilty and we were desperate. I have never had any issues with my dogs going to any other groomer and they go at least once a month. I dropped my dogs off and picked them up with cuts on their face and body, red scrapes and rashes on the their bellies that were not there beforehand. I notified the groomer and she legit tried to argue with me that are you sure my dog didnt scratch himself earlier? when there are OBVIOUS bald spots and cuts on him. there was zero accountability and i believe my dogs were not handled correctly. i do not recommend this place. read more

I can't say enough great things about this pet salon. I followed them from their old location. The groomers take the time to get to know you and your pet and strive to meet your expectations. It is rare that you will find an owner of a pet salon "working" the clientele. It is very difficult to find a pet groomer, my dog could not be happier. read more

We hav been coming to PCPS for 2 yrs & were very happy until 6 mts ago. We hav an 8 yr old Wheaton that has a very mild disposition. She has NEVER bitten anyone & is great w all our rambunctious grandchildren. 4-6 mts ago Karen said she snapped at the groomer& they had to muzzle her. Very unusual... today on a return visit they said she was snappy but they "handled It" When she got home she was walking very stiff & would not put her head down at all. She has cried in pain every time she extends her neck & cannot lay flat. I don't know what happened but I suspect she was handled very roughly. I have tried to reach Karen. I called close to two weeks ago at 5pm. Left Voicemail and haven't heard anything back from her. Today (7/9/19) I tried calling her two different times both times just rang & rang no answer, I let it keep ringing hoping it would go to voicemail both times it said Memory full. Most every time I take my dog to park cities pet salon, they won't cut him as I want him cut. They tell me if I don't like it they will trim more. Well guess what, I always have him trimmed more. I am real tired of this debate and will be looking for another groomer. read more

I have brought my dog several times, but this past time my dog came home with really bad razor burn on his belly and cuts on his foot and ear. When i brought him back in the next day to ask what had happened, the women said he did it to himself with his sharp nails after they were cut. Sorry, but that did not happen. I did not want to argue since the groomer was a lot older (and out of respect to that), but will never bring my dog back. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. Beware!!! read more

Park Cities Pet Salon exceeded my expectations! I have tried several other grooming companies in the area and was disappointed. However, when I called Park Cities Pet Salon, they were friendly, detailed about time/place/shot records, and were able to take us the next morning! I arrived and was promptly greeted. I was asked about exactly what kind of cut I wanted and the groomer went above and beyond in describing differences in styles, making recommendations, and looking through pictures I brought. Everyone I met was friendly and my pup felt very comfortable. When I picked my little fur baby up, his hair was beautiful (exactly what I asked for) and he was so happy! The location is super convenient- right off 75- with tons of parking (an issue for many boutique pet salons). All the dogs and owners I saw for drop-off or pickup seemed happy and the environment was warm and inviting. You can even watch dogs getting groomed through a glass window behind the counter. They do an excellent job grooming my pup so I've generally been pretty understanding when it takes a bit of time to hear back from them when trying to schedule an appointment. Also, Karen is super sweet and can usually get me in quickly. However, multiple messages left multiple days in a row with no response is unacceptable. Karen, not sure if you're still in business or not but if you are PLEASE invest in an online scheduling system! You have got to be losing business left and right, not to mention this is extremely frustrating for your long term customers. read more

In their down time while setting up their new location I searched, reviewed and tried several other good groomers but none compared to Park Cities. I took my 2 four pound Yorkies here for their first time & I was nervous since it was a new place for them. When I walked in I was able to watch them being groomed and the groomers did a MARVELOUS job- the girls were extremely calm while they were being groomed & seemed very happy. I have just taken my dogs for a groom this past Saturday. When I went to pick them up, the guy had gone in back and was back there for a very long time. After a short time, my girlfriend and I heard horrible loud screams from what I thought was another dog. They brought my dogs out and were very detailed in saying those screams were not your dogs....so I didn't think anything of it and left. Late that evening, I noticed my younger dog (shih tzu) was acting very strange. He was not his normal playful energetic self. When I went to pick him up, he yelled out that horrible scream I heard at the groomer. I inspected his body and noticed they cut his nails extremely short & past the quick!! He is in a lot of pain! He is constantly shaking and nervous anytime I reach down to him. I now I have to take him to the vet to make sure not only that his nails don't get infected, but that there is nothing else more serious wrong with him. I'm sorry but nails are really the easiest thing to do correctly and I don't appreciate being lied to about my dog being in pain. I don't plan on returning with my pets and I suggest you either avoid or make sure they don't even attempt to trim nails as my dogs are cracked/bleeding!!! read more

I have been an avid customer of this salon since I've moved to Dallas, and I can't express my satisfaction enough for these groomers who take their time with my fur son and make him absolutely beautiful at the end of his visit. Every time I call and mention my pets name they know who he's exactly is and know how I want him groomed when I walk in. When they were relocating, we tried another pet salon. All of our dogs always cannot get into Park Cities fast enough they love it so much, but when we arrived at the new one we were taking them to in the interim, all three were resisting. This place does an AMAZING job on my goldendoodle. It's about $15 more than the previous groomer I used (Vhea's), but it is worth the extra money (and the longer drive). My pup was flawless when I picked him up. They did EXACTLY what I asked for and even spent about 15 min. with me when I dropped him off to take instructions. I didn't experience any pricing issues; I was quoted a range over the phone, it was the same range when I dropped him off, and that's what I was charged when I picked him up. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place and will certainly be returning. read more
