I love Jersey diners. They are always pushing the envelope. I had to come over from Staten Island, and so I checked their online menu. I liked what I saw, so I had breakfast here. It was a large menu, including a very diverse selection of pancakes, as is their name. Just a nice diner vibe, and everybody was friendly and helpful. I decided to go for the loaded baked potato omelette. I had had a mashed potato omelette at another jersey diner, which I liked, so I decided to try this one. The omelette was fantastic. It had potatoes, bacon, cheese, and sour cream. Just like you'd find an a loaded baked potato. The eggs were tender, as were the potatoes, and all of the fillings played very well with each other. It was an absolute fantastic breakfast. As if I didn't need enough potatoes, it also came with home fries on the side, which were also tender and delicious. The coffee was very good, and they kept my cup full. The prices are reasonable, although there is a small up charge if you pay with plastic, instead of cash. I enjoyed dining at a local restaurant as I headed from Newark to I-95 South. This restaurant was not difficult to locate. Staff were friendly, and there was a reasonable wait time for my food. I did not enjoy the orange juice and black coffee, but that was not a big deal. The bacon was hard, slim, and trimmed. I also preferred cheese to be cooked throughout my scrambled eggs, instead of melting cheese on top of the eggs. The toast was dry and harder than I prefer my toasted bread. On the good foot, the pork sausage links were the best food item for me. The ambience had a classic, old school diner vibe. Seating at the booth was not comfortable. Check it out! In ordered a Steak Quesadilla for $15 on the menu. The check charged me $16.45 for cash or $16.95 for card payments. This is before taxes. I told them the price was more than the menu, they said that was the tax. I showed them the tax was on the next line. Then they went to the m ale manager. He finally said to adjust the bill. My wife and I Enjoyed another visit to this quaint family oriented diner in Linden just across from the Warinaco Park entrance on Rt 27. We decided to revisit this dinner as we've been here 4 times prior. Upon sitting at our table, we were greeted with a smile by Jessica. We recognized her as our waitress from our last visit Upon arriving from California to New Jersey in May. We had just gotten off our flight and wanted a delicious breakfast upon our return visit to the Roselle-Rahway area. The Park Diner and Pancake House was the First stop to start our 2024 NJ vacation. We informed Jessica that she served us during our last visit. She slightly remembered, gave us our menus and asked how we wished to start our meal. Jessica had many guests to serve but she was very attentive to our table and our dining needs. Our meal, consisting of French Toast COMBO, Scrambled Eggs, Country Fried Potatoes, Bacon and Sausage was enough to feed the two of us. It was hot and Dee-licious!! Ya get Three Cinnamon-Texas Toast style slices, hot off the griddle and toasted just right! The scrambled eggs were like momma makes. The country fried potatoes were enough for two with left overs. Two bacon strips and two sausages fed the both of us happy and full. We enjoy our breakfast every visit without complaints. Just smiles on our faces with full tummies. It is a consummate Jersey diner and I wanted to give it at least 4 stars - but could not. We stopped here after returning from a trip to CA so we were tired, wanting comfort food. Our waiter, Anthony gets a solid 5 stars. He was personable and made us feel welcome. Good job! Our food was just okay. I went to Park Diner on 4th of July to treat the wife to breakfast. I ordered the "Show Stopper" pancakes which are my favorite. My wife ordered a breakfast special with eggs, bacon, home fries and toast. The waitress must have been new because what I got was a short stack of 2 pancakes. Definitely not what I ordered. When I told her about it she took my order and was wandering around seeming confused. I told her to just give me the order back and I'll eat it. My wife's food was made to her liking. Mine, no. To be fair we have been there a few times and the food is always good. The short stack was good but my Canadian bacon was a little well done for my taste. In the end I ate everything as did my wife. Plus, the Park Diner and Pancake House also has a salad bar, which is increasingly more challenging to find diners with such. Coffee: The coffee at Park Diner and Pancake House was brewed hot and fresh and I couldn't have asked for better coffee. Food: The Park Diner and Pancake House menu has plenty of options. Outside there is a large sign that says new menu specials and hospitality, which I found interesting. There are all of the regular diner options from pages of breakfast specials, lunch specials, and several dinner options like steak and seafood. By the name, I would assume they are well known for pancakes.  I was between pancakes, french toast, or the avocado toast and ultimately I decided to order their avocado mash. Can you believe I've never had avocado toast before? A diner seemed like the perfect time to do it. The avocado mash came with two pieces of toast topped with avocado and poached eggs. It also came with a grilled tomato, which I appreciated. It was delicious and fun to try something new. Service: The waitress at the Park Diner and Pancake House was friendly and my food came out fast. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Would I Come Back? I enjoyed the Park Diner and Pancake House and I would go back. The food was excellent and there were plenty of specials I want to try. The chicken breast was nicely breaded with a nice crunchy texture, slightly seasoned on the outside, but flavorless on the inside & lacking salt altogether. This atmosphere is family oriented, yet ruined by the vulgar brothers across from me. Stopped by on a Saturday morning for an unplanned visit to this diner. I've been a few times before but nowhere near a frequent or regular customer. Since I was alone I sat at the counter. It was really busy, an understandably so since it was a Saturday morning. There was about two hostesses who were very visible helping the servers which was nice to see. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming; my waitress was busy so I didn't see much of her as she was also taking care of tables and taking telephone orders - I didn't mind too much (it's a Saturday morning, I get it). I've going here for years and i've always had a couple problems when ordering with them, this Sunday recently I went and I can fairly say the cooks do not care sometimes, I ordered avocado toast and received a couple slices of avocado on top of the toast instead of squished down, I had to do it myself, although its not on the menu I feel that it is common sense to do so when you order avocado toast. Instead I received French toast with a heavy purée-which is fine- but not when a random piece of bacon is sitting in the container with what looks like whip cream. Food: When I saw it said pancake house, I was excited to have their pancakes. Unfortunately, they were nothing to brag about. They were on the dry side. I had to use butter and lots of syrup to be able to eat them. Service: our waiter (Jose) was incredible. He was on point. I Didn't need for anything. Ambiance: there were many workers crowded up near the counter gossiping and carrying on. Talking about their tips and how much they make. And counting their tips at the counter. I was here for about 30-40 minutes and there were some waitresses just sitting at the counter the entire time. There were also 2 waitresses that had a disagreement in the middle of the floor. Was here for breakfast earlier this morning and i ordered a taylor ham sandwich and a side of fries. They brought the food to our table and everything was fine at first until i looked at the first half of the sandwich and saw a broken toothpick in the sandwich half, i took that one out and continued to eat the one half. When i got to the second half of the sandwich, i didn't expect another broken toothpick in the second half and i almost swallowed the toothpick but thank god i realized what was in my mouth. After seeing the second toothpick piece that looked bent in the sandwich, i stopped eating and called the waitress over and told her what happened. She said she would let the manager know. When they brought the check, i realized that they didn't remove the sandwich off of the bill. You think they would without me mentioning it since toothpicks in a sandwich like that are basically a safety hazard but no i had to ask for them to remove it from the bill. I can't seem to understand why taylor ham sandwiches even need toothpicks in the first place. Also the fries were barely even cooked at all and the ketchup tasted like as if someone had washed the ketchup bottle out with soap and didn't clean it enough and that the ketchup tasted like soap. It was so disgusting. I have been coming here for a while but i guarantee this will be my last time going here after this incident. read more
