Have stayed at the Park Inn twice now. Had very positive experiences both times. This is one of those I hate to tell you about it, because then you'll try it, and I won't be able to get a room reserved kind of places. Rooms are on top of the Park Inn Restaurant - which in itself is quite good for dinner. Building is old/historic - so there is a bit of creak to the stairs, and the lovely wooden floors do show some age - but everything is well cared for - clearly a lot of time and attention have gone into making the rooms comfortable, yet not sterile like a big chain hotel. Our room had a coffee maker, mini fridge, home made biscotti were a big hit. Room was very clean, well appointed. Bed was outstanding, we both slept extremely well. Shower was hot. Had extra coffee and tea in the hallway. Local area information was readily available. Inn is located right downtown, across from the...wait for it...park. Bottom line - you need a calm, centrally located, place to stay in Hammondsport NY, then this is well worth a look. And even if you don't stay - going for dinner is worth your time. read more

They have a decent amount of outdoor seating, although there was a 20 minute wait. I ordered a beer and the salmon. Their menu was one of the cheaper options in town ($20 -25). My salmon was flavorful and I also liked the bean salad. read more

We can't say enough about the wonderful meals and the people at The Park Inn !! We have dined here twice now, and every time, Jason makes us feel at home the moment we walk through the door. Even on the busiest of days, that personal welcome immediately prepares you for the dining experience to come. We enjoyed the recommendations and the attentiveness of Samantha and especially from Emily at the bar. We have several food allergies and intolerances (gluten free, low FODMAP), and yet the staff and the chef were extremely accommodating. Everyone works hard to make sure you have a top-notch dining experience, and their passion for their work really shows. The experience they bring to The Park Inn in Hammondsport from previous work in California, New York, and Toronto really lifts the restaurant to another level. Several months ago we dined with Katie, and she came over to say hi when she saw us there as well. Tonight we chose to sit at the bar, and it was comfortable, casual, and relaxing. The ambiance was perfect after a day of wine tasting. The restaurant was quite busy, yet the noise level was fine and other diners appeared to be enjoying conversations. We started with an amazing Parmesan custard with farm-to-table fresh vegetables. I enjoyed the grilled lamb and my wife had a tasty grilled salmon over a potato corn chowder. The quality of the food and its preparation was superb. The Park Inn has become our gold standard dining experience in the Finger Lakes. Our waiter Matt was well-versed on the menu, quick to attend to our table, and offered to check with the back when he was unsure of the perfect dessert and wine pairing. Best spot around hands down. We've been here three times and every time is better than the last. Amazingly cool, sweet and attentive staff, interesting cocktail menu, delicious food. Squash blossoms are a must and my favorite main has been the filet on creamy corn risotto. The filet was great--but to be perfectly honest I could've eaten about 92 bowls of the risotto alone. We were looking for a special dinner out to celebrate a friend and tried Park Inn. I live in Boston now (grew up in the FLX) and am a self admitted snob when it comes to restaurants. Park Inn did not disappoint. They source local and fresh so the menu changes every few days. Essentially- everything is a special. We tried the mussels and the shrimp with grits to start. The broth with the mussels is so delicious they should offer it as a main or sell it with a loaf of bread since you don't want to waste a drop. For the main 3 of us had the Portuguese seafood stew which was phenomenal and one had the chicken and waffles which was perfect. The waffle was thin and light and didn't overwhelm or overstuff you. It was served over a sauté of beans and vegetables with a compote of peaches for sweetness rather than syrup. Dessert were also delicious. Cocktails were craft and reasonably priced in addition to a beer and wine menu that includes local offerings. Hammondsport is quaint and adorable with other restaurants and shops. Quite a disappointment. We decided to try out Park Inn in search of the perfect fish fry but incredible total disaster. We started with the signature cocktails that were actually a poorly executed Manhattan, Gimlet, and others that were renamed, mismixed and overpriced. Insult to injury - the drinks came after the appetizer and during the salad. Too much french fries, too little fish and overdone, mayonased vegetables trying to pass off as coleslaw. House ketchup = sweet tomato mash. Enough said. Avoid until they figure themselves out. read more

I am very disappointed on how disrespectful we were greeted!!!! Not a hello, how can we help you. The restaurant was empty and asked for a table. They said only reservations at this time which was very late. Jason attitude was very unprofessional to say the least he should not be representing the business. As a business owner you go out of your way to help customers, especially if you want to keep them, we are local. I feel that the owners must not know what is going on, I have heard other remarks about his placement in the business. Also heard he has been fired by local restaurants for his behavior. I will never go there after this experience and will not recommend it. I am very disappointed as I love the setting. we are visiting friends in Hammondsport ( We are from Long Island ny) and we had dinner there tonight. the service was excellent (Matt was our server) the crab cakes were great and my main which was filet was cooked to perfection! the other couple had a beet salad and everyone else at table had pork chops. we all were so satisfied the food was delicious! We had a long day of traveling, including a flat tire that would have made us miss our reservation. They could NOT have been any nicer or more accommodating when we called to explain. This restaurant had some of the best food I've ever tasted! It was so good, my husband and I returned for another evening (we were in Hammondsport only three nights). Deviled eggs were amazing; stuffed zucchini was scrumptious; shrimp and scallop risotto was marvelous. Layers of flavors were in each bite. The dinner was not very good. The Caesar salad was heavy with some mayo-like dressing and smothered with tasteless cheese. The fish and chips..well the chips were soggy. Great accommodations. We did not dine in the bar/tavern but wish we had. Marie the Inn Keeper was terrific. Our newly remodeled room comfortable. The workmanship on the remodels flawless. Love being in the quaint town Hammondsport close to all our favorite wineries on Keuga and Seneca Lake. One suggestion and one minor caution. It would be nice if the new owners would reinstate the hallway frig. that was in the pre-remodeled Inn. Not having one became a problem as we like to purchase local cheese and other products while in the FL area. Caution, we thought the room price was pretty steep, especially since the complimentary breakfast deal at the Crooked Lake Cafe was sadly discontinued with the new owners. read more

I am so glad i can enjoy great food and service at the Park Inn. Their fish fry is absolutely incredible.

We had a bad experience here a couple years ago, but a local said it changed owners, so we decided to chance it, and it was great. Fried fish had very thin breading and great tarter sauce. Fries had the skin on them. Flank steak cooked perfectly. We ate at the bar. They played albums! Going back next week. read more

We decided to eat here when the wait for another restaurant was ~1 hour wait as we had an email meant to feed. Come to find out, the original restaurant was easy to seat us in 20 minutes! We were quickly seated in the back room as all the front tables were filled. Our waiter Phillip was outstanding! He was courteous, very customer focused and hustled! We were a party of 10, so having a great waiter is important. The mussels appetizer and crab & spinach dip were excellent. I ordered the beer battered fish fry and it stated it was the best in the area. I normally don't order fish fries. However, since I was back in the area, I wanted to try it. The fish was done perfectly the main problem is that it was room temp. I'm sure it was room temp because we were such a large party and the restaurant was packed. Nice, cozy, we have the smaller of the 5 suites. Clean, comfortable, we are pleased. The price is very affordable. Breakfast is At next door property. There's a restaurant and pub below the suites. But it is only open till 11 pm. And we couldn't hear anything. The restaurant had a good selection and I had the fish and chips. read more

The service was good but the food was awful. Fish fry was not light crispy batter and grease soaked into fish, tiny thin size fries were cold and 2 Tbs of coleslaw. Corn and potato chowder tasteless also. $18 for a fish fry?? Plus $7 for tasteless chowder. Ridiculous. $11 for a glass of wine? We live in Rochester and don't pay that and I'm originally from the Keuka Lake area. Guess I was expecting the old Park Inn. We will not go there again. We'll stick to the Bistro. We were with our friends from Ohio so we were even more disappointed in having such a lousy meal. One star too much. read more

Sat at the bar with friends. They recieved drinks right away. We did not, had to ask. My wife ordered soup & an entree. I was told they were out of the special fish fry, which I wanted. Then I ordered soup. My wife's soup & meal came, however my soup was not served. Wife's soup was not hot& sent back. I waited for the soup as everyone ate. Finally got my soup which was OK & hot. The restaurant had an old local bar feel with a small dark dining room the food we selected was fine and the white wine we chose was too warm. The restaurant was recently renovated and looked very nice. The dining area is a small open area. We were quickly seated. Wait staff were okay. Due to being such a confined area it was noisy. Unfortunately we were seated at the same time as a group of people from the bar. They were so loud I couldn't talk to anyone at my table without yelling and straining to hear them. The food was mediocre. They serve an odd tasting ketchup. Wish they would serve a known brand like Heinz or Hunts. They serve a vegan burger which I ordered. It wasn't as flavorful as I thought it would be and nothing I'd order again. It is served with sweet onion jam and chipotle aioli. There was no description of the aioli so I'm unsure if it was vegan too. They seem to really market their fries. I found them a bit soggy and salty. read more

A great place to go if you want luke warm food and wait 35 minutes for it to be served. Waited 20 minutes for the waitress to bring drinks to the table and then had to ask twice for refills.
