I stayed at the Park Shore for 18 days while I was in Hawaii. my experience was top notch! The location is perfect, and the staff was very accommodating when I needed to extend my trip. Anything I needed (blanket, garbage bags, extra hangers) they had ready for me in the room prior to my arrival. I was able to freeze my ice packs in the mini-fridge, and there was plenty of space to store everything and it not be in the way. My only issues were that there were no chairs on my balcony, so it wasn't really useable other than to dry clothes, and rooms by the elevator are subject to loud guests going back and forth from the elevators at all hours of the night. I will definitely stay there again. read more

We (2 adults/child-9 then, 17 now) stayed at the park shore pre pandemic. We had a partial ocean view with a king bed and they brought in a rollaway bed with no extra charge. We chose to stay there again earlier this month (just before the hurricane hit). They advertise a room with a king bed and the room sleeps 3. I (although I should know better) assumed that there would be a couch or one of those fancy chairs they have in the hospitals that extend out into a single bed or we would get a rollaway. We get to our room. No couch. No reclining chair. So I call for a rollaway. FORTY FIVE DOLLARS A NIGHT (x 7 nights). How is it they (PSH) assumes that 3 people will share ONE bed? I feel if they advertise that it sleeps 3, there should be NO charge for the rollaway especially if there is no couch or reclining chair. The staff is wonderful. The location is wonderful. But my poor kid had to sleep on the floor for a week. It was disappointing for sure! read more

Wow, what an amazing hotel! The staff (girl w/ the amazing eyeshadow) is friendly, welcoming, and super knowledgeable. The location is perfect--it's on the quieter side of the strip, so it isn't as crowded, and the views are incredible. Soft ,comfy , clean beds . You have Lulu's and an ABC Store on site, and the beach is directly across the street. We booked an ocean view room, and it was 100% worth it (though from the looks of it, even the other rooms have great views as well). The bathroom is a bit weathered, but not enough to ruin the experience. The elevators can be slow, the other guests are so friendly that you don't even mind the wait. I am a local (we played tourist for my brothers bday) so picking a hotel in Waikiki has to be choice. Price of the hotel room was a bit pricey but you pay for the view. ALL staff was so nice and professional. There's 2 ABC stores side by side of the hotel. There's Denny's and Teddy's Bigger Burger a walk away. The Zoo and Aquarium was walking distance too. The beach is right across the street and Lulu's restaurant is right above the hotel along with a amazing Japanese restaurant inside called Yoshitsune. read more

Locals, you've passed this hotel. It's across the Honolulu Zoo next to Tucker and Bevvy. It's easy to miss because it has a tiny driveway, and the hotel doesn't take very much real estate compared to other nearby hotels. It's an old hotel that has been newly renovated within the past couple of years and it was the perfect place for a staycation. The only parking option at this hotel is valet. Upon arrival, we were greeted by August, who was friendly and helpful. He asked us if we planned to leave using our car anytime soon so that he could park our vehicle in an accessible place, hence, less waiting time for us. At the front desk, check-in was quick and easy. Chevas, one of the Guest Services Managers provided us with our room keys and pool/beach towel cards. They sent text messages throughout our stay to check-in on us to see if we needed anything. The texts weren't annoying spam-like messages, and it wasn't intrusive, nor did they go overboard. We had the perfect view from our corner room with one side giving us a nice view of the hotel's pool and Diamond Head, and the other giving us an unobstructed view of the ocean and Waikiki Walls, a popular spot for spectating surfers, swimmers, and volleyball games. In the lobby, there is a direct door to one of the dozens of ABC stores in Waikiki. Around the corner is a Starbucks, Tucker and Bevvy, and Lulu's on the second floor with a balcony view of the beach and zoo. Park Shore is doing their part to lessen their carbon footprint and has done away with the single-use toiletry bottles. They have their own brand (Olu) of refillable bottles of lotion, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash fixated to the bathroom walls. Our room also had all the standard stuff: Keurig machine, mini-fridge, microwave, safe, and balcony. Each morning, there is coffee service available in the Korner Pocket. Named accordingly because it's a small lounge next to the lobby that has a pool table available to guests. There is a serve yourself cappuccino machine and cream and sugar in the Korner Pocket. If you like coffee, please do yourself a favor and buy some from around the corner. I did not enjoy this coffee one bit. The pool is tiny, but there are ample lounging chairs, benches, and cabanas. The cabanas are free to use, unlike the larger resorts we're used to where you have to rent by the hour. Lulu's Waikiki, the restaurant next door provides not only room service, but poolside delivery. Overall, enjoyed a nice stay at a low-key hotel where customer service was good. Would I return? Wouldn't be my first choice but certainly not my last. read more

The hotel is located right across from the zoo and about a block from the bleach. Quite a convenient location. Also has 2 ABC stores close by if you need a snack. They do charge for parking but if you're lucky you can find metered parking at the zoo lot or on the street. The room was decent. Not very special but had the essentials. When the AC is on it can be a bit loud. Fairly priced for the location tho. They offer beach towels and also SPF and aloe vera. Staff are pleasant. read more

The one star is for the close location to the beach right across the street. These rooms are very dated paint on the table the carpet the stool and base boards. the table and one night stand are chipped and dusty. brought some wipes to wipe down the room. lamp shades are dirty one of them is sliced and held together by tape blankets had stains on them which I returned. 2days are room not cleaned although im told by house keeping that it is scheduled. sand dirty towels, at this point I asked for a vacuum and cleaning rag and I will clean it my self. oh and the kicker you have 3 elevators and bone of them are working since last night because of a faulty water sprinkler. mind you there are a lot of smokers in this hotel and alarms went off. we all had to evacuate out front. People in wheel chairs and walkers im on the fifth other family on 12th. its alot going on here and it still ain't working as of 3:43 pm never again. oh one more thing after we were allowed back in going up the stairs of course the door was lock so we all are waiting to get thru to the next floor. and no staffed cared. outrageous service if you gonna have elevators which is a great amenity with 18 floors be prepared and have a better plan. read more

The front desk manager lied to me. I made a non refundable reservation. I was attempting to upgrade my room type while sitting on my couch, when my Pomeranian puppy walked across my keyboard. This resulted in it being cancelled. I immediately reached out to the 3rd party app and explained the situation. The person that assisted me (Lubna) stated she spoke with John, the person that was the front desk manager. John told Lubna that park shore would refund my $1015. I lost with the cancellation if I rebooked. I rebooked the higher quality room. (Premium Ocean view from standard partial ocean view.) I contacted the park shore about the refund. Was told to go thru the 3rd party app. I went thru the 3rd party. Two days later, I found that the park shore and John the front desk manager were not truthful. Do not trust them. They will steal your money, as they did mine. I'm very disappointed. read more

Our stay at the Park Shore Waikīkī was not at all as hoped for. Essentially it's a Motel 6 with a different name slapped on the front of it. We had a hole in our ceiling in the shower that leaked, blinds ripped to shreds and they had to come fix our shower because it was broken. They don't even fully fix it. My parents stayed at this hotel in another room with us and had to be moved rooms due to so many bugs they kept finding in their room. The hotel wouldn't even comp them for the trouble - they waived one nights service fees. (Their sink was filled with baby spiders that were crawling everywhere for 4 days / and they complained each day. And it was on record) This hotel is garbage. And the service fees and valet put about an additional $1 on the charge. So just beware what you're getting yourself into. read more

We stayed here for 4 nights. Rooms are updated enough. Elevators come quickly. Pool is a nice size. They only have about 14 deck chairs, which get filled up pretty quickly during prime time. To me the negative is the towel situation. To get pool towels you have to go to the 1st floor. The pool is on the 3rd floor. This becomes inconvenient when you're wanting to go to the pool or get new towels. In addition you have to use your room key for the elevator. If your hands are full with bags or snacks from ABC, again a bit of a pain. I did appreciate the offer late check out for late flights. This is $15 per hour. We had a midnight flight and appreciated the option to utilize our room until 9pm for an added fee. The resort fee is $55 per day. I am not sure what they actually offer for this price. It seems pretty steep for the lack of amenities. read more

My family stayed here from Feb 7th-Feb 12th. The staff were friendly, helpful and available 24/7. When my mom needed towels or an extra blanket all she need to do was send the front desk a text and they promptly answered. Our room which had two queen beds was on the 3rd Floor pool side. Housekeeping only services the rooms every other day. There is no room service or complimentary breakfast. Just coffee from 6am-9am in their mini playroom which has a foosball table and pool table. There's an ABC store next door, LuLu Waikiki Restaurant on the 2nd floor, A cafe around the corner and a Japanese restaurant on the first floor. Valet parking only which they charge $55 per day and taxes. Location is great across the street from the beach and Honolulu Zoo. Plenty of shopping and restaurants on the strip. Overall my stay was ok but I were to return to Waikiki I would stay someplace else. read more

Travis the guest services manager is 5 stars all the way, from checking me in early to asking how I'm doing every time I see him to even giving me some snacks to cheer me up when he thought I seemed down. He is a GEM! 4 stars because the property needs some TLC. Probably should consider remodel at some point. Black out curtains in my room have holes, my mattress has a sizable dip on one side, pillows are not the best, just a general sense of worn in. BUT this view saves everything!!!! read more

It was clean. It was in the heart of everything and it was right near the ocean I could literally, jump into the water go back to my room and shower and then go out to eat. Short on amenities like a chair or couch in the room, no real desk. Gym was ok But uncomfortably small for more than 1 or 2 people. Older but clean and comfy. Somewhat noisy due to adjacent hotel. This is my 2nd time staying at this property. The first time was better than this time. Granted it was almost 10yrs ago but for what you pay and what you get......disappointed. Location is great and the staff is mostly friendly and those are the best things I can say. -Room was small and mildew smelling. -Bed was initially comfortable until you're 2/3 hrs into sleep and realize the mattress is sloping. -Beach towels have to be at least 5yrs old (holes included). -Pigeons pooping on the balcony daily and not cleaned off. So don't leave your swimsuit outside to dry. -No restaurant inside hotel (although space is there for one, maybe post Covid it couldn't recover). Overall this place needs a remodel. It's difficult to reason the price I paid. If you think you're getting a good deal....you're probably not. Rated a 3.5 star, maybe it's the old reviews that are helping keep the average rating up! I had to check out of the hotel due to the A/C being broken and no WiFi. The front desk purposely did not disclose that the air conditioning was out and the amenities were not working prior to check in. I booked through a third party and I am unable to get a refund because the hotel checked me in. Not to mention that here was 3 fire alarms in which I had to go down 12 flights of stairs only to be told after that it was a false alarm. I am so disappointed and displeased with this hotel and losing $173 on a room I couldn't stay in. This hotel is below industry standard. This is an older hotel and doesn't seem to belong to any large chain of a franchise. The best thing about this hotel is its location, at least for our needs when we visit Oahu. We are not a typical tourist and have already done the major "tourist" things so we prefer to have a nice room to lay our heads down, access to Waikiki and be able to hop in the car and explore other parts of the island and visit relatives. We do want to be able to get to the beaches in Waikiki and relish in the beauty that is right there. The location was ideal for us. The partial ocean view room had a view of the ocean but only through a window that did not open. The patio/lanai was overlooking the high-rise building next door and had a slight view of the beach. Housekeeping was atrocious. Never enough towels despite the room booked for 4 people. Constantly had to call down to get those stocked. The carpets are old and could use deep cleaning. The beds were a decent size for double/doubles. The hotel didn't have many other amenities in terms of fancy restaurants, but it is connected to an ABC store to grab incidentals or small snacks. There is a pool table which was a nice activity except the pool sticks are broken and it is situated too close to the wall to play a real game. The lobby is beautiful. They supply beach towels which is handy and they even have sunscreen for you to lather up in the lobby. The valet parking was convenient and the staff were friendly to deal with whenever we needed our car. Their price for parking is much less than most hotels so that's a win for us. All in all, it was a pleasant stay, but be aware that this isn't a luxury place which is reflected in their pricing. Regardless, it suited our needs for our trip to Oahu so it was a positive experience. read more

My husband and I love staying at the Park Shore every time we are visiting. The location of this hotel is perfect. We always have the best views of the ocean with nothing obstructing our view. The hotel is right across from the beach. Everything was pretty convenient. You can walk the strip to have dinner or go out and shop. There is a Starbucks and ABC store connected to the hotel. With our ocean view room we had the best view for sunrise and sunset. I promise it will be the best sunset you will ever see. Our room also had a clear view of Diamond head! The staff is always so friendly and helpful. The only downside is the parking. It is valet only. read more

I will say the hotel staff were friendly and nice. The hotel is WAY over priced fro what you get. A low end room starts at 200 a night, with the additional restort fee of 59.60, which when all is said and done, close to 300 for a basic room facing another hotel. The room has curtains that are stained with many guests of the hotels past. Crawling with cockroaches, which yes, is normal for HI but cleaning them up would be appreciated prior to seeing your room for the first time. Wifi non existant. All of Oahu is expensive but I feel you could get a better price and cleanliness elsewhere, which I know to be true as this is not my first visit. read more

The Decline of Park Shore. Stayed here 3 times over the last 6 years and noted a marked decline in quality- EVERYTHING is falling apart. Paid for premium room with poolside lanai. Sliding door so stuck that a only 200+ lb man could open it with difficulty- they didn't care to fix it, or tell us that they already knew it was stuck... In-room phone didn't work to report the issues- they didn't care to fix it. Toilet paper holder fell off in the floor on first use- they did fix that one! Curtain pull broke off- they asked if "I" wanted it fixed? Pool ladder was broken half the time we were there. The room smelled so "funky" we had to get our own air freshener. Plenty of insincere customer service at front desk. No more Park Shore for us... good luck to anyone who stays. read more

My husband and I are frequent visitors to Park Shore Waikīkī and have always enjoyed the excellent location across from the beach, the beautiful views, and the warm, welcoming staff who truly embody the aloha spirit. Unfortunately, during our most recent visit, we had an unpleasant experience in the lobby that detracted from our time there. While waiting for our Lyft (I was 8 months pregnant and needed to sit down), a man wearing an Allied Security shirt sitting in the seat right next to us--who had been watching videos on his phone with the sound on--suddenly identified himself as security 10-15 minutes after us sitting down.He asked if we were guests and demanded to see our room key. It caught me off guard because I have never seen him before nor would I expect someone on the clock casually on his phone. We've visited here multiple times and have never been approached this way while simply sitting in the lobby, nor have we ever seen this individual before. When we politely declined, he became accusatory, insisting we were "lying" and that he'd "never seen us before." His demeanor was unprofessional and confrontational, especially given his earlier behavior on his phone. This interaction felt unnecessary and stressful, particularly in my condition. While I understand the need for security, this did not align with the high standards and hospitality we've come to expect from Park Shore Waikīkī. I wasn't able to get his name, but I hope management can address this with Allied Security to ensure all guests continue to feel welcomed. read more

We were at the Park Shore for all of ten minutes before we witnessed a drug pick up. What looked like a homeless person walked in, collected what looked like a black bag from behind the ATM, and walked out again. Travis on the front desk explained that 'this is Waikiki, the amenities are not just for guests', which is an odd response to hearing of a drug deal in their lobby, essentially acknowledging that this is common practice. (It's worth noting that hotel lobbies in Honolulu are generally completely open access. We subsequently stayed in the Marriott almost next door with much the same set up, but has not been a problem.) This occurrence was the final of a few straws. We didn't need to see our room to know that it is a very dated hotel. We used the bathrooms which were unclean, as much as in need up renovation. Travis was also not particularly welcoming, on top of being completely dismissive of our account. We landed early and went to the hotel to leave our bags. We enquired whether there was any chance of an earlier check in, to which his response was 'well, check in is at 3', rather than being polite. We could have overlooked the unwelcoming welcome, and the dated decor, but the dismissal of our concern regarding safety was where we had to draw the line. We could only recommend that you avoid this hotel at all costs. read more

Park Shore was just what we needed for our first trip to Oahu. It's directly across the street from the zoo and the beach is right out front. It's at the end of the main drag through Waikiki, so you can walk everywhere. There's an ABC store about every 20 feet along the main road and one with direct access to the hotel lobby. Our room was clean and comfortable. Yes, the entire hotel is a bit outdated and tired, but it was fine for what we needed. The AC ran constantly and was really loud, but ear plugs solved that. Staff were all friendly. Lulu's was great. They had the best acai bowls. If you visit the beach out front, bring shoes to wear in the water since there's a bunch of sharp rocks. The hotel gives you a voucher for 3 free rentals from Beach Candy each day--and that's next door, so very convenient. Note the umbrella comes in two parts and has handles to make drilling into the sand easier! Overall, I was worried about all the negative reviews on here, but our stay was near perfect. read more

This was my first time staying at Park Shore Waikiki, and as a Native Hawaiian who is born and raised on the island of O'ahu, and now residing in Hilo on the Big Island, and now travels worldwide both for work and leisure, this hotel and it's staff provided an exceptional experience. The location of the hotel is unmatched. I loved being at the end of Waikiki, just close enough, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the Waikiki madness. Being next to the park and the views of Diamond Head were everything. Having the valet service so we did not need to fuss about parking took so much stress out of our trip. Love that the hotel is quaint. Walking in, it is very welcoming. Being so close to so many yummy food options was so great. It was so easy every morning to wake up, enjoy the view from our balcony, then walk out and enjoy the beach, walk to the shops, enjoy the park and all the views. I appreciated the towel exchange, the complimentary reef safe sunscreen and cooling gel. The valet attendants were quick, efficient and very friendly, all the time. I appreciated that very much. Our room was on the top floor and had a partial ocean view that was just right for us. The cleanliness, layout and size of the room was perfect. I enjoyed the extremely breathtaking view of Diamond Head from the balcony adjacent the elevator. Mahalo again to all the staff from the moment I called after booking my reservation online to ask questions, to the valet people, to the check-in staff and housecleaning 'ohana, everyone was extremely helpful and kind. I will definitely be booking again. Can't wait for our next stay! This trip we stayed three days, two nights. Next time, we plan on booking at least five days because we enjoyed our stat at Park Shore Waikiki so much. read more

1 stars for hotel staff back and forth regarding our early check out. We had an emergency back at home which shorted our trip. We gave them 2.5 day notice. We contacted them as soon as we heard and we also called hotels.com (who we booked through). Hotels.com said sure they would refund us if the hotel approved it. They placed us on hold called the hotel and the hotel told them: "sorry the person who handle this is not here today. Call back tomorrow". Next day: we called hotels.com again and they called hotel again and spoke to Eric. Eric told the hotels.com lady they would refund the $283.00 resort fee and the extra two days of the upgraded room we paid for. Just be sure to check out at the lobby when we leave. Day we left: went down to the front desk and the gentleman there said they would refund the $283.00 resort fee and we needed to contact hotels.com for the refund... It was obvious the hotel was not wanting to refund us... and instead of just saying so they bounced us around for 2.5 days prior to and during check out. We have yet to see a $283.00 refund! So keep in mind if you have any type of emergency and need to check out early this hotel I will screw with you and not be honest about the process. If we didn't have an early flight to catch I would have stayed to fight it. Now I will have to via phone. 5 stars for location/convenience/restaurant discounts/beach rentals. They have an ABC store attached to the hotel and they offer excellent 10% discounts on attached/surrounding food places. They also offer beach type rentals (beach chairs, paddle boards, speakers, etc.) which are included in with your stay. 2 stars for hotel rooms. Lobby is deceiving... it's very nice, clean, and modern looking. Hotels rooms (we saw two different types of rooms) both were incredibly old and dated. Walls are super thin so you hear everything! And I mean everything. Only plus to the room we stayed in was the mini kitchen, fridge and microwave. Other than that it's was dingy, old and musty smelling. Ultimately we were very disappointed in the hotel bouncing us back and forth related to our early check out and the condition of the rooms. We will not stay here in the future. UPDATE: 7/15 Jim the hotel manager called me. Super friendly and helpful! Hotel approved our refund of the two nights since we had to check out early due to an unexpected emergency back home. I cannot say enough about this hotel. In particular about one of their managers named Travis. I am the mother of a young woman who graduated from college recently, worked very hard and saved for a special vacation at this hotel. I called the hotel and asked for a manager. I got Travis. I explained that I wanted to make sure that my daughter and her friend had a wonderful time and that they were safe. He bent over backwards to accommodate my request. I will never forget it. This place goes above and beyond. My daughter called me that evening telling me if her vacation only lasted one day. It was already perfect and enough. ROACHES + BEWARE OF FRAUDULENT CHARGES ON YOUR CARD WHEN STAYING HERE. We recently stayed 5 nights and we were returned guest booking directly. Our anniversary trip was turned sour when we checked out and was given a surprise bill of $500 for smoking when we did not! They have a silly smoking detector claiming we smoked during the morning hours of the day we are checking out! For starters, no one called us to warn us about the charge and the front desk + manager has zero customer service. We explained to them we were sleeping at that time so how could the detector go off? We asked the front desk manager to go check the room and he will see that it is in perfect condition with no evidence of smoke. He declined to do this and totally ignored our REASONABLE request to resolve this issue. They were not understanding at all and was given a generic script to explain why they weren't going to waive it. Being in the hotel industry myself for over 10 years I am truly shocked how okay the front desk was with me leaving unsatisfied. As a former General manager, I would not recommend this hotel any longer. I stayed at many hotels with lots of problems before but I would always return if issues are resolved and most importantly that the staff is genuine and do their job to take care of the guests Why would we smoke the very last day and risk being in trouble? We didnt smoke in the room at all, but suddenly there is smoke detected in our room on the day of check OUT? Sounds like just a desperate way to make a buck. It makes for a sour experience because now I have to dispute with my credit card company. Feels like a slap to the face after spending thousands of dollars and tipping every team member along the way. Other reasons why we would not return: - the lobby is deceiving. The rooms are extremely dated - no service everyday and took over 30 minutes to get towels delivered - roach found in our bathroom and was told it's a normal thing to happen. Just wow. - seen staff members smoking their vape in the halls - right infront of the busiest street with homeless at night causing fights. Do not stay if looking for peace & quiet. - water in shower was always cold. Had to wait 10 minutes for it to finally get hot. - staff is not trained on how to take care of guests when problems arise and extremely dismissive. read more

I took my wife here for the Valentines weekend, upon check in we were charged $89. Randi who checked us in quoted "wow I've never seen these rates before, you guys have the best rates I ever seen" per usual when checking into a hotel, you pay everything upfront. So we pay & go upon our day. Due to the extremely low pricing we got, we decided to extend another day. Also calling in, Randi is the one who answers my call, I ask about an additional day & late check out, she quotes "same price, late check out already requested & may I charge the same card?" I say yes, she proceeds to do so & we move on. Upon check out, Olivia who is a "manager" says we owe $332, I explain to her what was said & what was the $300 charge for. She proceeds to say "I can print out the folio for you so you can see the charges." I agree then explain to her why weren't we charge this from the get go, my wife is upset & asks why are being charged more than quoted, she proceeds to say this is what we owe & doesn't find a way to understand why we charged what we charged. My wife asked for an explaination & Olivia smirks at my wife, huffs & says with a sarcastic tone "this is whats owed" so we ask for a manager above her because she has a smug attitude & doesn't apologise for the confusion. I was in dislief with her smug attitude, Eric comes out & asks whats the problem, we explain to him what went on & he makes the situation better by taking off a night. From my understanding, way too many managers, no communication or proper training at all. With people who are not from this island & have no aloha are at the front desk with a snotty attitude. Bad service & bad first impression. Only people who wwre awesome there was valet, Eric & Chevis! Rest of the crew needs training & better communication!!! Ruined our Valentines weekend. read more

Top rated hotel here in a special place in Waikiki. The staff was wonderful, friendly and helpful. Everyone was totally professional. The place was clean. An excellent spot to spend time relaxing, I will return. Thank you for everything. read more

The Park Shore is a nice hotel located right at Waikiki Beach. Walking out the front entrance you are on the beach in about five minutes. The hotel is surrounded by nice restaurants and stores to get souvenirs. The rooms are fairly small, but you don't spend a lot of time in them. The staff at the Park Shore were all great. Uber is readily available and can get you around town fairly easily. They have free coffee available very morning in the entertainment room located across from the front desk. The tour buses pickup right around the corner from the hotel so getting to your excursion is fairly easy. The zoo is directly across the street from the hotel. I recommend this hotel. read more
