Park Street Grille is one of those places that's easy to keep coming back to. The food is consistently great, the atmosphere is relaxed, and being right in downtown Rockland overlooking the harbor makes it even better. We started with the lobster wontons and wings, and both were excellent. The lobster wontons were especially amazing--I could honestly make a meal out of those alone. For dinner, our table ordered the tostada salad, a cheeseburger, the pork belly Cuban, and the Texas Burger. Everything came out fresh and looked fantastic. The pork belly Cuban was hands down the best Cuban sandwich we've ever had, and the Texas Burger is still my personal favorite every time I visit. The restaurant is spacious, the service was friendly and attentive, and the whole place has a welcoming, laid-back Maine vibe. My guy and I went there in search of mexican food. There is lack of it in the Midcoast area. We ordered carnitas and it wasn't good, no flavor. Not even beans in the rice, no sour cream, rice had carrots? ha and the waitress was busy but never stop to check in with us during the meal, we tried to get her attention because we wanted sour cream and more salsa, she just kept walking by. This is a pet peeve of mine. We asked to sit outside to have a drink. They seated us and brought tortilla chips and salsa and placed it on the table. We had already eaten lunch and it only come here for a drink, but then they told us if we didn't order we had to pay for the chips and salsa that we did not order and they put on the table. That's a pet peeve of mine We ordered some more chips with a trio of dip and didn't even eat it because we weren't hungry, but I hate to be charged for something I didn't even order. You can find Park Street Grille at 1 Park Dr, Rockland, ME 04841. If you use Google Maps it leads you to a street corner - the restaurant is actually in the front of the Maine Lighthouse Museum across the street. There's plenty of street parking or you can park in the lot by the harbor and walk up. I had low expectations of this restaurant from the reviews I perused online - fortunately was pleasantly surprised. We walked in during the week, shortly after tourist season, the place was still very busy but I think we managed to beat the dinner rush since we were seated immediately. The place is large and has some outdoor seating - we chose to sit inside so no wait. The interior wraps around a fairly large bar and from what I could tell, there were quite a few tap handles featuring local craft brews. Out server was also taking care of a large party so some of the other staff took our drink order and brought us glasses of water. Before getting into the food, there were two unusual features in the restaurant - there's stairs in the middle of the floor leading up, and the bathrooms are through doors to the museum - seems they share the same facilities. For drinks we both chose choose: * Baxter Brewing Ice Storm of '98 Hazy IPA 5.8% ABV - 3.3/5 Sweet tropical fruit notes in this easy drinker, a bit of haze in a super light body, finishing hoppy and fairly clean. They brought out chips and salsa - actually many TexMex items on the menu so it made sense. The chips were fresh and not overly thick - the salsa was pretty basic but satisfying. We split a bowl of Spicy Shrimp and Crab Gumbo which we both liked a lot - this is served on rice so be aware. I ordered the Lobster Mac-and-Cheese as I wanted to experience it in Maine - this is a huge portion served in a round plate on a platter that also held my side salad. No complaints here - the Mac was creamy and had a lot of both tail and claw chunks, super rich. My wife ordered the crabcakes which were delicious - plump, large and very moist, served with spicy remoulade and a garden salad. We were both surprised by the large portions - quite the deal compared to what we've tried so far in the area. We finished up with the carrot cake - it was a bit disappointing after the entries and soup. Seemed previously frozen and thawed for service with subdued flavors and flat icing. Went in to have a few drinks after dinner. Bar was full and lively, but there were several tables open inside and outside. We asked to be seated outside and told them we weren't looking for food, just a cocktail or two so we could take their "worst" outside table to keep others open for diners. The other reason we wanted to sit outside was that the inside was quite warm and definitely had the aroma of grill and fryer. Anyways, they refused to seat us outside. Not because we weren't eating, not because we we just going to have drinks, but because they were planning to close off the outside so nobody would go out there and smoke. I stopped for lunch with my parents (who had previously dined at PSG) in early June. It was a bit past peak lunch hours and outside of prime vacation season so the place was pretty quiet. We were promptly greeted by a friendly host who offered us either a table or a booth in the open concept dining area. Our waitress was just as affable and attentive. Not long after being sat complimentary chips & salsa were delivered to the table (future rounds require you to pay). There are plenty of drink options from non-alcoholic to fruity margaritas. I personally went with the house margarita which I assume to have well tequila; tasty but I wished I had thought to ask about their "award winning margarita" (but really they have award plaques to show off their standing in Knox County). PSG certainly has an interesting menu that is loaded with Tex-Amex options - many seafood inspired. I went with the fish tacos and honestly they were some of the best fish tacos I've had in a long while. Also the cheese quesadilla portion was huge especially paired with the soup special of the day. Certainly worthy of checking out of you are in the area and want a casual place that isn't focused solely on seafood but you'll still be able to catch some water views sitting inside or out on the small deck. 5-star service. Overall, nice lunch with 3 generations. My two teen daughters and I took my mother in law here for lunch as part of a girls day out in Rockland. We arrived at noon on a Thursday and the place filled up super quickly- not an empty table by the time we left around 1:30. A sign by the entrance states that all meals are made to order so may take a while, and this turned out to be accurate. We shared chips & salsa along with an order of bland, lukewarm queso. Salsa was quite good, fresh and flavorful. Among us, we tried the half rack of ribs, fish tacos, crab melt quesadilla, and 3 taco meal with ground beef tacos. Ribs were tender but didn't have any crackly or obviously grilled bits, slathered in a very thick layer of BBQ sauce, served with coleslaw, onion rings, and toast. My mother in law loved the crab dish. The three taco meal was very large but enjoyable, and my fish tacos were tasty. I asked for extra remoulade with them, and also added hot sauce. The black beans on the side were unexpectedly spicy. I like spicy food but I was surprised by the spice level. The wait staff seemed stretched. We had to wait quite a bit for the server to come back around to refill water & drinks, as well as when we were ready to close the check. Came here for lunch after visiting the Lighthouse museum since it's conveniently next door. We always are up for eating Mexican food! The only complaint was the wait, but everything else was great. Stopped in for lunch with my wife and daughter today to celebrate my 71st trip around the sun. As always, the service was top-notch and the food was delicious! About an hour later, after leaving, I noticed I had lost my wallet. I called the restaurant and asked if anyone had found it but the answer was no. I left my name and number, just in case. Just about an hour later, on my drive back to Augusta, I got a call that they had found my wallet!! We turned around and drove the 45 miles back to Rockland to retrieve it! I don't particularly care for Mexican/Southwestern food, but they had fish tacos on the menu, so I figured there was a safe option for me, although some of the burgers on the menu looked interesting. There is a no substitutions clause on the menu, which was a little off-putting. The complimentary salsa was okay. My fish tacos were good, but I was expecting a filet, and instead there were nuggets. The tacos themselves were tasty, but the chunks of fish fell out easily. You do get a lot of food and I ended up finishing my last one off with a fork.
