Love this local bakery. They have great light breakfast and lunch options including pastries, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, soup and salads. The coffee is always spot on. They make a fantastic breve that is balanced.... Not bitter with a good half & half to espresso ratio and light foam. The cinnamon roll is a winner and a breakfast sandwich to complement made a great Mardi Gras breakfast. We even devoted the cinnamon roll to be a quasi-king cake. Been visiting this Bakery for years. My wife loves pastries. We lived two hours away and it was always a treat to get pastries from them even with four hours of driving round trip. So excited to try Park Street Pastry for the first time this morning! I'd written this place off for years - I had tried to come several times, but they were never open. They close early at 2 PM, and are only open Wednesday -Saturday. I finally happened to be in the area on an open day, and it was like the place came to life. Looking through the windows on the days it is closed, I didn't think I was missing much, but now that I'm here when it is open, it is full of life. There are lots of people here enjoying coffees, pastries, and food. Their menu is a pleasant surprise, I had no idea they offered more than bakery items - they have omelettes, made to order breakfast sandwiches, full lunch items, and more. I was also surprised to see that the dining area is more roomy than I expected with various tables and seating option - perfect for groups and bringing a book or your computer. I just came in for a quick iced coffee on my walk, but I can't wait to come back with friends, or to do some remote work. Cute mom and pop little cafe/pastry shop in downtown Olathe, KS. We went on a Saturday morning, so it was bustling with individuals and families trying to order and find seating. The vibe I got was homey, and then an aesthetic movie cafe vibe if you sat next to the high rise windows. Outside the windows has that old school rippled curtain that gives some shade. They sell some locally made goods, and of course several different pastries and cakes. They serve breakfast sandwiches as well and coffee, of course. We got a chorizo egg croissant breakfast sandwich and an americano. I wasn't super impressed with their americano-tasted a little burnt. Their egg sandwich was delicious-flavor profile was all there and the croissant was nicely toasted and flaky. I just wish the structure of the sandwich stayed together better. It fell apart pretty quickly and made for a very messy experience. Next time I'll have to go for their pastries! read more

The pastry chef was extremely rude to me and my family. We were visiting Olathe. We went to the farmers market down the street and got coffee from the coffee food truck there. We strolled around and came across the Park Street cafe. I went in with my wife and kids and ordered a few pastries. After we paid, the chef went on a little rant, loud enough for everyone in the café to hear. He said something like "you can't bring your coffee into my shop, coffee is how we make money. This is my business you're not allowed to have that in here." I replied I'm sorry, I picked this up at the farmers market and we're going outside to eat. He rolled his eyes and continued his rant. Fortunately, as we were eating outside, one of his employees came out and apologized for his behavior. No one likes to be yelled at. We were having a good day, enjoying ourselves as we strolled around, then the grumpy chef put a damper on things. We were in town for a whole week with lots of other family and friends. This hidden gem is one of my favorite spots in Olathe. The pastries and desserts are incredible, and the breakfast/lunch selections are delicious, as well. My daughter and I love to sit in their sidewalk bistro area to drink coffee and visit. It's a very nice "small downtown" feel ... complete with rocking chairs! The best part, though, is that the owner goes above and beyond to make customers feel welcome. Park Street Pastry will always have my loyalty because of this. During the early days of the pandemic, there was an egg shortage ... remember that? Eggs were nearly impossible to find, and very expensive when in stock. Park Street Pastry generously offered customers (myself included) a chance to purchase extra eggs in their bakery inventory, at their cost. It really moved me that they made that available to a desperate community during that scary time. I still think about and appreciate that. read more

What a hidden gem right in the middle of downtown olathe. Stopped in after a hard workout this morning with friends and tried out a bunch of items. Unfortunately we arrived at about 1045 on a Saturday so a lot of good items were gone. No crossaints - unfortunately but we were still able to order a breakfast sandwich on sourdough bread.
