They had such a great selection and I ordered the chilaquiles con huevos. I really enjoyed the steak gordita. That was the best thing I tried while I was there. I have ate here once before and wanted to go today so I did. The weird thing is I wanted to order french toast and an enchilada plate and I felt judged right away. The women taking my order proceeded to say no that it was too much and then talked about me to other customers. Not only that she had a man who worked there as well come and ask me what I wanted and laughed in my face as well and said I was ordering too much. Whether I was ordering too much I don't think it's someone business to laugh at me let alone I'm paying for my food. It was inconsiderate and rude of both of them. read more

My partner has been coming here since he was a kid. He really wanted to go today with our 15 month old to get some tortas. We have a stroller. He figured out that he could find some seating in the back of the diner. He had asked a bigger older white man if there was another way to get inside and he responded in a way that made it obvious that the question was an inconvenience to him. Restaurants need to be handicap accessible and so I was a bit surprised by this. We shimmied through the dinner with our stroller and our 15 month old and as soon as we opened the stroller up to put him in it, we were told we were in the way. When we asked what solutions there may be so we can all be comfortable we were just met with a "I am sorry I do not know" this is extremely inconsiderate and disappointing. When my partner pointed out that the white guy had it out for him another person sitting in the diner stated that she peeped that. I do not care how frustrated with your day you may be. But please be considerate to mothers, fathers, and children. read more

This diner is a nice, welcoming place to eat. It definitely has a diner feel to it because there are no tables and you just eat at the counter on swivel stools. I've always gone here for breakfast, but it is great as a greasy diner. Their pancakes taste buttery and are done so well. You can also get a good selection of burgers and various Mexican food items. Unfortunately, vegetarians would have extremely limited options, because basically every dish has meat included. The Ecuadorian woman who I believe owns it is very grandmotherly, which you can tell from her endearing friendliness, eclectic decorating scheme and the fact that she has everyone choose a hard candy from a basket after they're done. i'm not going to lie...i'm a sucker for their bright pink electric sign. that's what originally drew me to Parkview. Fortunately, my penchant for gravitating towards shiny objects paid off in this case. Parkview is a really cute, little breakfast & lunch spot across from the baseball & soccer fields at Harrison Park. They have mostly counter seating with one or two tables in the back. When I went, it was mostly filled with neighborhood people who all seem to know each other and the random soccer/baseball mom with her kid. i usually rotate between the chilaquiles and the juevos con chorizo. both are really nicely sized portions, and it's the kind of greasy, delicious breakfast you'd expect from a place like this. they also have some american staples, like pancakes, hashbrowns, burgers, and hot dogs. i'm sure their pancakes are good because they put an extra layer of butter on top of the pancake as they're cooking it. how can that be bad? all in all, it's a cute neighborhood spot that gives you exactly what you're looking for in the morning. read more

Went here for lunch today and loved this little joint. Cute space, super friendly service, amazing Agua Fresca de Pepino (cucumber juice), and solid food. I got a ham/egg/cheese Torta (v yummy and big enough for 2 meals) and got a free cup of fantastic lentil soup. Favorite place in all of Pilsen. The molé chicken (I think only available on Fridays) IS A MUST. I wish it was served every day. After I had it for the first time I told so many people about it and returned there with another friend hoping we could both order it but of course it's not always available :(. Atmosphere is a 10, the workers are extremely friendly but not the annoying kind of super-friendly in waiters at some places. This place is amazing. I come in here on the weekends in the morning for the crispy fresh delicious huge-portioned chilaquiles and fresh juice (the cucumber and pineapple are my favorites), often to soak up a hang over, and it does the trick. No frills diner with such a homey, warm feel, affordable, and excellent service. The only issue I've ever had is that it can get extremely hot in there - HOWEVER one time I was sweating (I get very hot very easily), sitting by the window and the nice lady taking my order must have noticed and offered to move me to a cooler spot that had just opened up toward the back, close to a fan. My partner and I came here a few years ago and since then we have become "regulars." We come two or three times a month. The food is PERFECT for a diner experience and the price is right. I don't eat meat so I usually get a veggie omelet or chilaquiles without the chorizo. Recently, I tried something new: The mole enchiladas con queso and OH MY WOW!! Such a delicious flavor sensation! I was told that the mole is one of the cooks super secret recipes that she refuses to share - but it's easy to see that this recipe must be protected at all costs! We love Parkview - we call it a "mini-vacation" - and we will continue to come here for years to come. read more

I love food and I am opened to trying new places. I even fly out to LA, San Diego and San Francisco to go on food adventures. I order the chilaqulies and they were water down. They gave me salas and that was water down. I was straight up honest about the food and the guy did apologize but was not proactive. Towards the end I paid and I told him again how dissatisfied I was since I am Mexican and that is how you DON'T cook chilaqulies. He replied back he was not Mexican but that was not my point and I did call him a jerk. My pont is have a better representation of your food and do not water down the tortilla chips because it soak up the water and has no flavor. read more

Love this place! Its a small space but that's what makes it cozy! I usually order the Steak and Eggs or Chilaquiles w/ Steak for breakfast. It keeps me full for a long time since they give good portions. The steak has a unique seasoning which makes it special! I do not like tomato so when I order Chilaquiles they exclude it with no problem. There is not much wait for your order (5min approx.) and you can sit on the cool chairs and spin (before you eat, of course. lol) Weekends are sometimes busy towards noon so I just go in earlier. It really depends if activities, like sports, are going on, since it is in front of Harrison Park. Coffee is also good. Service is friendly and they make you feel at home! I ate here three times and each time the food was worse, the last item being the so called famously delicious chilaquiles. As a cook and Mexican I was disappointed, she (owner) prepared chips with watered salsa. The salsa was luke warm and the chips were oily. Although she's very nice, she cannot cook or has lost passion. I'm not sure why the reviewers gave it good remarks, I guess personality goes a long way but hey if that's the case you all can pay me too for crap food and good conversation. read more

This place was so unexpectedly wonderful. I originally expected it to be just a tiny diner. All we wanted was eggs and toast. As it turns out, the menu is small and authentic (including a breakfast special). They make their own fresh juices - Cucumber, Papaya, and Passion Fruit. I had the cucumber juice. I HIGHLY recommend it. We had the Spanish Omelette with their homemade salsa and it was delightful. The prices are cheap for how amazing the food is.
