I normally go here for my cleanings because Dr. J is fast and efficient. This time I had a chipped snaggle-tooth right in front that needed to be fixed. Ever heard of dental nirvana? I hadn't, but then I came to Park West Dental. I hate the dentist. I really do. It's painful, cold, unpleasant and not fun. Enter Park West Dental. Connie, the receptionist and dental assistant was wonderful. Easy to book appointments with, she assist's Dr. J, makes pleasant conversation and is very welcoming. Dr J. - he's awesome. Friendly, conversational, trustworthy, gentle, makes you feel relaxed, but, MOST of all, he's good at what he does. I came in to see him for the first time after not seeing the dentist for a full year or so. Bad idea on my part, but I couldn't afford it because I didn't have health insurance for time. I get cavities pretty easily no matter how often I brush, and I had a couple this time around too. The fillings were practically painless. Not only that, I got to watch Family Guy while he did it. Talk about fun distractions. Just don't laugh too hard while he's drilling... I kid, I kid. Been for cleanings, x-rays and the normal stuff since. He always remembers me (love the small business perks) and we'll banter back and forth about sports and such. Went to him because he was close by and in my insurance network. Then I moved and stuck with him even though there were thousands of dentists closer. Now I'm really bummed I might have to say goodbye because he's not in-network for my new plan. FINALLY, I have found an outstanding dental professional among those in my HMO list of providers. While I did research on the web previous providers, this did not preclude my bouncing from one nincompoop to another -2 of 5 that I have mistakenly gone to, also did a mickey mouse job on my wife, to whom I had recommended them prior to being disappointed. In my case, I went to this Croatian on 95th. St., regarding a large cavity at the base of a molar, which seemed to have come out of nowhere. This nice dentist, who likes to chat with his assistant while working on you, like surgeons on TV shows, did what I thought was a good job. A few months later, I discovered after 5 months that his masterful work basically amounted to having covered the cavity with an overhang, like an awning, under which the still asymptomatic cavity was gaping and waiting for an eventual root canal. So, I found this older Italian dentist on Lawrence, to whom I went seeking a professional correction. Oh, yes...: after 5 months, the filling fell out, turning out to be a resin composite, like some Chicago-style pavement pot-hole patch done with plastillin. So, I found this Romanian dentist in Morton Grove, who said that I most likely needed a root canal -which I wouldn't have since I learned about these-, for which she referred me to an associate -who, per my research, I decided that there was no way that this woman would put her hands on me, so I was referred to another clinic that specialises in root canals. Instead, I did not give up on my web researching, and found Dr. Jagadeesh, whose reviews were absolutely convincing -and genuine, as opposed to some reviews that you come across which are obviously written by the dentists themselves...! Dr. Jagadeesh did an outstanding, thorough cleaning of this cavity, which had been gaping for 1.5 years -and AMAZINGLY was still asymptomatic. Dr. Jagadeesh's assistant, Lidia, is totally in the same league as Dr. Jagadeesh: OUTSTANDING. WHAT A TEAM! After effectively having disinfected my molar, Dr. Jagadeesh proceeded to fit me for a crown, which should have seemed obviously necessary to those 2 previous "professionals". Dr. Jagadeesh interacts with a laboratory that, clearly, is VERY professional too: the first impression of my molar, in some unfathomable way, seemed to them in need of a second impression to ensure a perfect result, which was done. End result: TOTAL satisfaction and admiration on my part for Dr. Jagadeesh's Park West Dental Office. During 30 years of the first half of my life, I had had a dentist in a different country who, as I came to recognise, was one of the very best. I have been seeing Dr. Jagadeesh for about six years now and he is an outstanding dentist. He provides top quality work and is extremely friendly to boot. The office is very modern and nice with high tech equipment and there is ample free street parking nearby. You even get to choose from a variety of DVD's of television shows such as Seinfeld, Simpsons etc. to watch on the flat panel TV on the ceiling as you lay back, relax, and have your dental work done. Dr. Jagadeesh offers both weekend and evening appointments, so scheduling is always a breeze and he is easily accessible via phone if you ever have any questions or concerns. I highly recommend Dr. Jagadeesh to anybody not completely satisfied with their current dental care, to anybody new to the city or to anybody seeking a new dentist. This place opened near my former residence earlier this year and after passing by it a few times, I decided to stop in. The lobby was small but modern and the receptionist/assistant was very pleasant. My initial visit with Dr. J included x-rays, dental exam and teeth cleaning. He discussed my x-rays with me and gave me a thorough teeth cleaning. Upon his recommendation I came back the following week for one more teeth cleaning. Excellent dentist! I've seen Dr. Jagadeesh for several years now and couldn't be happier. I initially chose Park West because they accepted my dental insurance, but I stayed because they were extremely nice, honest, always made me feel comfortable and very accommodating when scheduling appointments. I've been thankful not to need much more done than x-rays, cleanings and an occasional cavity filled, but he's a very competent doctor and I'd trust him with any dental issue.
