Five for five. I came to Lexington diner as a kid with my dad. I continued the tradition with my wife. There breakfast is on point. My omelet and fries were delicious and hot. The waiter made sure my coffee was filled to the brim. You know I love my coffee. It got busy after I made my way in. It is just the hustle and bustle of how a diner should be. I miss that feel. We have gone here many many times . Food was good. Servers were very friendly. Prices are very reasonable. Went there on a Friday before mother's day . Said we could only order off special menu. Which was expensive. They had reasonable prices in the past. But I guess new management now. Charged for drink refill,said they have no tap water only bottle water for a fee. Charged 2.00 extra for mozzarella cheese on a cheese burger. I guess robbing loyal old customers means nothing. Don't think i will be back. read more

Came here the first time 17 years ago with my then fiance, now here with my wife and son. My wife is from Jersey so we decided to drop in and reminisce. I had fond memory of the friendly staff, amazing service and great food. 17 years later and the food wasnt bad, the staff, well they aren't the same people obviously, but they don't care to have a conversation with you. Overall it wasn't bad, not the same, and I wawasn't expecting it to be, but it would have been nice to feel appreciated as a customer. FYI, I'm a business owner and that is important. My brother, his girlfriend, and I visited Lexington Diner in Clifton, NJ, on March 23 at noon. Parking was limited, but we found a spot on the street and could have easily walked. The diner was packed, but we were seated within five minutes--larger groups may want to arrive earlier. Our waitress was outgoing, and our coffee was constantly refilled. Since the sign outside read "Pancake House," I had to try them. I ordered a short stack with bacon, my brother got scrambled eggs with home fries, sausage, and toast, while his girlfriend chose chicken scampi with rice, broccoli, and a salad. Despite the rush, our food arrived in about 25 minutes. The pancakes were fluffy, warm, and delicious--worthy of the "Pancake House" title. The eggs were well-cooked and paired nicely with the home fries. The chicken scampi was a generous portion and flavorful, according to my brother's girlfriend. Prices were reasonable for the quality and portions. Our waitress dropped off the check without rushing us, and we asked for a container for the leftovers. We paid in cash, leaving the change as a tip for our attentive server, Indyra. The welcoming atmosphere, friendly service, and extensive menu make Lexington Diner a great spot for a hearty meal. Manager is rude and disrespectful Server was unattentive!!!! The waitress sat us and threw the menus on the table. She also gave us a high chair with a broken seatbelt but, we asked for another. After the bus boy gave us our drinks the waitress then returned and took our order. At this point we felt ok. When we left to pay there was a gratuity added to the bill of 20%. on the back of the check. The check on the front said a total of $49 and change. So when we got to the register and they were charging us $59 and change I questioned the total. I then asked why was there a gratuity of 20% added. The manager who was charging us said any party over 5 get charged a gratuity so I asked is 5 and over or is it over 5 please clarify. as 4 of us were served and there were a few issues we wanted to address with service. she told me why is this an issue and for me not to be difficult. I just asked a question, I wasn't creating an issue. She began to count the people in our party very condescending manner. She wouldn't look at me and kept interrupting me and then told me to just pay my bill and go on about my day. If this is what the owners and management at Lexington Diner are about then I don't feel that they put the customer first nor they respect us enough to voice our concerns or ask questions regarding how service there. They have changed their menu and because they changed their menu they charge you 2.00 for each additional plate that you ask for because you are sharing a meal. Today, I went to the Lexington Diner to have what was once one of my very favorite breakfasts - the Garbage Plate (a combination of scrambled eggs, potatoes, ham, bacon, with a large breakfast sausage in the middle). The price has not changed, they have added coffee and juice to the menu, but the portion is about one-half of what it used to be. Originally, it would come out almost completely covering a dinner plate; today, it barely covered the size of a luncheon plate. I was usually only able to eat half of it and take the other half home for later. - not any more. My toast was as hard as a piece of cardboard, with butter on only half of it. I asked for additional butter and a jelly, but it was still inedible. Although the Lexington Diner appears to continue to be a popular dining option in that area, I will never again make the trip across town for breakfast there ever again read more

I used to live very close to this diner and never knew that the food was sooo good, the restaurant is very spacious, even though by now it should be remodeled inside but that's something minor. Their desserts are delicious and the best part is that they have super cheap prices and a descent menu. Highly recommend their "Hungry Man combo" it's good enough even for two people ;) read more
