Park Winters is an absolute dream come true. I can write pages about the beautiful setting in nature, the amazing attention to detail that's been given to the gardens and interior decor, the unique blend of traditional and modern elements - but one visit here will show you all of that in an instant. Rather, I will share what can't be readily seen but can only be experienced. My husband and I wanted to have a rustic and elegant outdoor wedding and came across Park Winters during our search. It was the first and last venue we visited together. From the first foot we set on the grounds, we fell in love and knew it would be the perfect place for our wedding. D'artagnan showed us around the large property and answered every question we had without hesitation. The polite professionalism we received that very first day from him was a big reason why we chose Park Winters. Once we settled on our date, we began to plan. We had both just graduated from professional school with debt and were working - we had 8 months to plan a wedding and no idea where to start. Helping with the planning process is one of the areas where Park Winters truly shines. Amber Daly is the event coordinator and from the beginning, she was there to help arrange the details for our wedding. Though she was responsible for discussing details related to the venue (i.e. meal type, linen color, bar options, etc), I found that she actually helped with many details related to outside vendors. She offered to print signs and menus, gave recommendations for decor, and offered advice regarding shuttle services. She was always polite, professional, efficient, and HIGHLY detail oriented when it came to answering the many questions we had. I never once felt that Amber was tired of our questions or not present during our conversations. What's unique and appreciated is that she always knew the answers to our questions immediately and did not have to check in with the owners for clarification. I feel this shows not only how competent she is at what she does, but that she does her work with passion. Furthermore, it highlights the excellence with which the owners - John and Rafael - manage their dream grounds. My husband and I had the chance to meet Rafael and we were blown away by his incredible dedication to the gardens, as well as his extreme hospitality and humbleness. After meeting Rafael and learning about the history of Park Winters, we were even more excited to hold our wedding there. By the time the week of the wedding came, I felt so confident with the entire Park Winters staff. So many details had been reviewed multiple times that I had zero stress about things not going as planned. Park Winters is also extremely flexible and worked with us to incorporate certain non-traditional elements into our wedding without once making us feel like we were asking them to do additional work. On our wedding day, my husband and I were very excited to share the magic of Park Winters with all our guests. During the wedding and afterwards, we received many compliments about the venue - its natural beauty, the courteous staff, the generous bartenders, and the incredible food. Yes, all the other reviews are right - the food is absolutely amazing! I have never been to a wedding that has had such carefully prepared and delicious food. Park Winters is a real hidden gem! I was looking to get away from the San Francisco fog and noticed how nice and warm the weather was in Winters, CA. A good friend of mine recommended we stay at Park Winters. Park Winters was the perfect destination for me and my boyfriend to relax by the pool and enjoy the countryside in a luxurious setting. Everything about Park Winters was perfect - the pool was warm, inviting and surrounded by chairs and shaded chaise lounges. I was hungry when we arrived, and someone from Park Winters was kind enough to bring out a fruit and nut plate while I was laying by the pool. We stayed in the "Pecan" room, which was very comfortable. The best part about the pecan room was the jetted bathtub in the bathroom. During the day, we walked around the property and enjoyed the views of the mountains. There are many sights to see around the property, including a pond with fish, a chicken palace, multiple gardens and more. The library at Park Winters was also a great spot to do work and relax in during the day when we wanted to stay inside. In the morning, we were presented with a fresh, organic farm-to-table breakfast, which included fresh fruit, homemade blackberry muffins, french toast and omelets from the chickens at Park Winters. The food was incredibly delicious and the outdoor setting was breathtaking. Park Winters is a real hidden gem and is a close drive from San Francisco. I think Park Winters may be my favorite place in the world. My husband and I got married there this weekend and it was the most beautiful and happiest day ever. Park Winters is a really special place - it is breathtakingly beautiful, the owners (we worked mainly with John but they are both wonderful) and the staff are warm, welcoming and amazing, and everything is so perfectly and smoothly run. They're also the kindest people ever and were so open and awesome as we planned our wedding. We brought in our own pizza for example, and Amber was extremely organized, thoughtful, and generous with her time answering all of our questions. You can really tell they care about the couples getting married there and want to make the day really special for you. We stayed at Park Winters on our wedding night and they made us feel SO special - the rooms are beautiful, the breakfast was awesome, they even gave us hors d'oeuvres as we were running late checking out - can't think of another place who would do that. Our guests were so blown away by the venue (we heard storybook and fairytale a lot) and the beautiful setting and thoughtful staff really contributed to the happy, relaxed, ready-to-party vibes from our guests. The property is absolutely breathtaking, the photos do not do it justice! There are so many areas to have the ceremony and reception. With beautiful outdoor landscapes as well as the air-conditioned event barn. The old fashioned Victorian house makes for the perfect backdrop for getting ready/ pre-wedding photos. Its truly the perfect combination of classic and modern. I have to say the entire staff was phenomenal at the event, and Park Winters definitely deserves an A+ in customer satisfaction. The Occasion: My wife and I were married here on May 18th, 2013. We rented the Inn for the weekend and had a Saturday evening wedding. About 12 in our wedding party stayed at Park Winters during the weekend. We also held a pool party on Friday. My wife had the bridesmaids get ready on Saturday at the venue. Our wedding had 150 people. The Fears: As my now wife and I showed up to Park Winters that weekend in May for what we would hope to be a wonderful wedding weekend we had two primary fears. First, we had been working with John and Katie for months leading up the big event. John and Katie were soooo agreeable and nice about everything that we thought there had to be a catch. We just could not believe that everything would work like John had talked about. Thus we honestly brought our contract with us prepared to confront John if things were not like he said. (Though it needs to be said, that John and Katie were always great. They did not give us anything to really fear. We just wanted to be extra prepared in case.) The second fear was that mosquitos would eat us alive like one of the yelp reviews had said. The Reality and Review: From the start through the end of the weekend, my wife and I hid that wedding contract quickly. This is because John, Katy, and the staff went FAR above and beyond what our contract said. They had added beautiful lights throughout the yard, a new area of furniture for people to interact during the events, and the staff was there for anything we wanted. It was truly a feeling that John and the staff wanted this to be the best weekend of our lives. The great thing about Park Winters is that we felt like it was our special place. Whatever we wanted to do we could. Never once did John or the staff turn down anything we wanted to do. Our guests and us had freedom to go anywhere on the property, play our music, and make it our weekend. Nonstop we were told by our bridal party, family, and guests how amazing the venue was. People would remark that Park Winters was a venue made for the movies. Yet it was our venue. Oh yeah, the mosquito thing. It was not a problem for us. John and the staff did a number of things to get rid of them. Then on top of that, there was an organic bug spray that smelled better than most people's cologne and perfume. But we did realize that we were in the country, so if one of us got a bite or two, we were ok with it because we realized we just had to put on that bug spray and everything was fine. The Summary: I would say that Park Winters is simply majestic!!! I have two pieces of advise for you! One, if you have already picked out a venue somewhere else, I would see if you can get out that contract and make Park Winters your wedding venue. WOW!! My fiancé and I just booked our August 2013 wedding at the Park Winters and we couldn't be more excited! John is by far a great pleasure to work with!! We've already gone out to the property three times and he has always been more than happy to have us there and has been happy to answer any questions we've had (and believe me we've had a lot of questions)! The property itself is exquisite, exclusive and all around- amazing! As the previous reviewer said, everywhere you go there is another discovery! The walk in salt water pool (that will light up and change colors) is absolutely beautiful. They're building another pond that will have a waterfall which will also change colors as well. And the barn is absolutely gorgeous! We really wanted the country/outdoor themed wedding and this definitely is the place for the elegant, yet country feel we're looking for. Along with being an exclusive event place, everywhere you go on the property will be exclusive as they've done a great job with adding greenery throughout. Then you get to the inside of the main house - and oh my gosh have they done an amazing job! The bedrooms are any girls DREAM for their wedding - there is PLENTY of room for all the girls to get ready, doing hair, makeup, getting dressed - etc. The photo opportunities at this place are endless! I am sure any photographer will be able to go crazy and create the most amazing and unique photos with this place. Oh and of course the florist as well - endless opportunities!! We are beside ourselves at how amazing this place is and are truly counting down the days to the day that we'll get to fully experience what the property has to offer, on our wedding day! I've photographed a handful of weddings at this venue and every single time the staff/planners at Park Winters have made each of those wedding days run as smooth as can be. Everyone works efficiently as a team together while having such a great time. From the moment we stepped out of our car I knew we were in for a special experience. I could tell that whoever designed (John and Rafael) the space had put a great deal of thought into the perception of the guest. We were greeted warmly and seated at our table. Instantly, we all commented on how serene the space was. There were guests at every other table and yet there wasn't much noise...we attributed it to the high ceiling. Our team of servers were all attentive...napkin rings removed, water refilled, silver replaced after each course....all these tasks were executed swiftly, quietly as not to disturb our serene environment. Our sommelier knew her stuff and after seeing the pairings they had chosen for each course we decided to put our wine away and go with theirs and I'm so glad we did. Each pairing was so on-point with the course. Let me just say this now....Chef Scott Ostrander is a genius. We were treated to some of the most amazing tastes, flavor profiles, and textures we've ever had....and we've eaten all over the world. The amuse, the soup, the salad, the pasta, the pork....whoa! it was all fan-flipping-amazing!!! The consistency of the foie gras, the sweetbreads in the ravioli with parmesan foam, the squash soup poured over the thinnest bacon I've ever had, the quail egg with pickled shallot...and all paired with the most thoughtfully chosen wines ever. We enjoyed our dessert and coffee out by the fire and with the super moon shining above us we all marveled at the dinner experience in which we had just participated. Even out by the fire our servers were very attentive. We all agreed that it was well-worth what we paid and that we would return again and again. It's hard to know what to love the most about this magical place. The owners are amazing individual with dreams that reach the stars. You only have to walk up to this beautiful home to feel how surreal it is. We were so blessed to have our daughters wedding here this past July. The home is beautiful for a wedding, event, getaway or just a day swimming in their salt water pool. The food is farm to table and magnificent. Park Winters actually executed our signature drink a Fig Moscow Mule that they infused the vodka themselves. We celebrated our son's wedding here this weekend and we were thrilled with the entire experience. The facility and setting was magical. The owners have created vignettes of loveliness all over the grounds. The team there exceeded our expectations in every respect. The food was great and the service was impeccable. We just had our wedding at Park Winters on 7/21/18 and it was everything I could have asked for for one of the most important days of my life. From the initial response to set up a tour I could tell this venue had great staff that provided top tier service. I didn't know the area well and it seemed further than the Sonoma properties we had toured which was not the case coming from SF. Venue is gorgeous no matter where your ceremony is on property (ours was in front of the sunken garden). We knew right when we walked from the parking lot in, this was going to be our place (we visited 8 sites). From the view of the fields to the fig forest, artichoke plants, swamp shack, pizza oven, gorgeous Victorian mixed with modern accommodations and the event barn with chandeliers - everything resonated with us. I wanted a California rustic feel without all the dust and dirt :) It truly is country luxury. The bathrooms are also very warm, nicely decorated and modern/clean which you won't find at other venues. Food is fresh, CA farm to table and we received rave reviews at dinner. We had the good fortune as no other events were booked before our wedding to stay several nights on property and our entire family had enough time to enjoy the pool, get ready for hair and makeup and have the ease of just walking upstairs after the last song was played to go to bed. The morning breakfast they serve with your stay - amazing is an understatement. Price point was fair for what we received and well worth the cost. Note the extreme temperatures during "off season" as it will get very hot but we prepared for it with parasols, fans, cold towels and well timed shade during our ceremony but if you want family (with kids) at your wedding - summer it is! I'll remember our time at Park Winters for the rest of my life and it truly is SO BEAUTIFUL. So many of my friends, family and coworkers asked me "where did you find this place?" They were so impressed once they set foot on property. They made us look GREAT and deserve every bit of business that comes their way because they are fantastic and it will be the best decision you ever made. read more

I did not have one person at my wedding that did not mention how beautiful the venue was! Secondly, their food is absolutely amazing! Food is an important part of a wedding for both you and your guests and Park Winters offers the absolute best wedding and event food I have ever experienced. All the food they prepare will not feel like it is something catered for a large group such as a wedding but will feel like it was a meal just made for two with every little piece thought through with a purpose. Lastly, you will receive the best service possible with every step of the way. It is absolutely imperative to have a venue that will accommodate what you need and will make your life much less stressful. We just celebrated our sons wedding at Park Winters and I cannot say enough about the venue, food and staff. The property is absolutely gorgeous. The mansion, from the decor to the large comfortable guest rooms, is beautiful. First off, the food was amazing. The porcini mushroom soup was perhaps the most flavorful soup I've ever eaten. The risotto was amazing, as was the main dish of duck. The wine pairing was quite excellent as well, and the sommelier, Chris clearly was well versed in wine pairing. HOWEVER, the service was horrid. We waited an extremely long time between courses, and I'm pretty sure we waited at least half an hour before we got dessert. I almost got up and left at that point. Also, thanks to the delay and boredom towards the end (coupled with having to get our own coats as we left), any romance was essentially squashed. There was very little interaction between the servers and us, although it seemed they spent a long time talking with people seated at other tables. Park Winters is beyond amazing, timeless, beautiful and everything I could ever hope for in a wedding venue. My husband and I were married in August and to this day we are receiving emails from guest detailing how much they loved the food and service. When it came to the initial tour that John gave us, I was very impressed and grateful that He and his staff happily answered the multitude of tedious questions I asked before making the decision. Amber coordinated the detailing meetings, tastings, and event details with such professionalism and kindness! Our daughter and her husband just got married at Inn at Park Winters on September the 14th 2013 and it was truly magical and the best wedding I have ever been to and not just because it was my daughter getting married. The staff was wonderful and the owners John and Rafeal genuinely care what is each bride and grooms dream and work to help make that happen. You feel like part of the family and guests are welcomed with open arms to this jewel nestled away in the Winters Country, The pictures can not ever show everything it has to offer in the fullness that it is in person...You really need to make a appointment and walk the place to get the feel from the fig forest to hammocks to a salt water pool two fountains a mulberry lounge a few beautiful fountains and a pond and on and on..''Call John and go see for yourself! Then you have the 1800s mansion you can stay in as well as some of the guests like we did and wake up to the chefs making everyone delicious brunch in a calming place you will not want to leave. Again all staff was great. The grounds are stunning and did I mention that I am very allergic to mosquitos and that was really the only negative I had seen on post about the place and I rubbed down with Bounce dryer sheets and have not one mosquito bite on my body!!! Where the heck is Winters? Answer, near Sacramento and Davis. I have been coming here since I was a child. This little town is becoming a destination small town with an evening dining and entertainment vibe, a D-D&D heralded cafe and a northern CA famous steakhouse. Oh, and a great place to start your wine tasting adventure. I have family here but have always had to stay in a hotel outside of town until I discovered Park Winters. I actually canceled where I was going to stay so I could check out this relatively new venture. WOW! An impeccably restored and furnished old farmhouse and water tower bed and breakfast on 10 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds and feature areas for you to explore. Total country chic with modern amenities. We started each morning with a chef inspired breakfast that was wonderful (they will cater to your dietary needs) and weekend chef tasting farm dinners (unfortunately missed) that we can't wait to try on our next visit. We literally had the run of the house and grounds so you won't ever feel confined or cramped. Literally the perfect spot to start your day, spend your day and end your day, all in one place. Owners John and Rafael are consummate hosts and made us feel welcomed and pampered and that includes their wonderful staff. From the moment we met John, Rafael, Amber and the incredible staff at Park Winters, we knew our daughter was in good hands for her wedding. We have lived in Davis for 16 years, and had never experienced this breathtaking venue. The historic property and grounds, along with the newer building, combine a perfect backdrop for an exceptional event. In addition, the seamless professionalism and superb food were impressive. Many of our guests complimented us on the menu and the remarkable waitstaff, including the awesome bartenders, as one of the best weddings they had attended.
