    Grilling Away

Context: MEA break with family in Green Bay, WI, my mom was looking for a good steakhouse and this one was close to our hotel. Aesthetic: This steakhouse's claim to fame is the chance to grill your own steak on grills located in the middle of the restaurant. The layout for the building is huge with lots of seating but reservations are still highly recommended. If you love old school supper clubs, this will fit the bill. Food and Drink: Loved the unique concept of grilling your own steaks. For one set price, you get to choose what type of steak to grill. T-bone, marinated top sirloin, filet mignon, steak kabobs, NY strip, KC strip - they are all available for the same price. Another cool option is that you can split a steak with another person for around $40. Each entree purchase comes with an AYCE salad bar, AYCE baked potatoes, and AYCE Texas toast. I literally could of filled my stomach with the bread. You basically can bring a loaf over to the grill, butter it up, and eat to your heart's content while you grill your steak to perfection. The bar had some great drink specials and prices for drinks were very generous. I got a classic Wisconsin Old-Fashioned for only $5. You know what is better than grilling your own steak while you are eating a loaf of Texas toast? Enjoying an Old-Fashioned while doing it! Service: Service was speedy and friendly. If you were not comfortable with grilling your own meat, you could have one of the staff do it for you at a small additional cost. Our waitress was super helpful on making sure we felt comfortable with the whole process and made sure we didn't go without anything. Price: Prices were very reasonable once you add in all the additions like AYCE options and the experience of grilling your own steak. It was either on par or below what a normal steak house charges, but you got to pick your own steak and eat it too. This place excels far beyond other steakhouses because of that. My consensus: Generously-priced grill your own steaks, AYCE Texas toast hot off the grill, and cheap Old-Fashioneds equals an easy five star experience.

Review of restaurant: Made reservations for 7:00 and ended up being seated at 7:15 which wasn't bad for how busy it was. It is quite hot and smoky inside as expected but wish the ventilation was a tad bit better. Food review: I got the porterhouse which is the best value for what you pay for IMO. There are two grills you can use. Just go to whatever one is less busy. The salad bar, texas toast and a potato were all average at best Overall: For the price, I wouldn't recommend this place as there are better restaurants in Green Bay you can try that will end up satisfying your steak needs. With that being said, if you haven't experience a place where you cook your own stone it's worth giving it a shot ‍.

A great experience, the ambience is really nice. The placement of the grills to cook your own steaks as well as toasting the bread.

One person in our party uses a walker a struggles with mobility. We requested a table and could only be accommodated with half table half booth. Okay we could make that work. Only our table access was blocked by another large group with a person sitting on the end. So in order to get to our seats we had to crawl over this other guest and try and get into the corner booth with 4 people and my dad sitting on the opposite side inline with the other guest. They seemed annoyed we wanted a better accessible table and were sat at a four top with person on the end which was not ideal but much better!! I understand things happen but the reaction from staff was not accommodating. The grab bars in the men's room are behind the toilet which caused another issue entirely. When my dad was walking out several staff kept cutting him off coming out of the kitchen and seemed annoyed despite him having issues. I think the restaurant could be more accommodating and sensitive for people with disabilities. Unfortunately this was my dad's one trip out in 6 months while we were home on a visit and it was a disappointing experience considering this is his favorite restaurant.

The steaks were great, tender and juicy. My pasta primavera was delicious. I did half marinara and half Alfredo for the sauce- so good. The fourth person liked their fish but did comment it could have used more seasoning. We did the butter pecan and grasshopper drinks after dinner and they were very good also. The main dining room can get very loud on busy nights so I appreciated the more closed off space for a large dinner event. The caveat being we received spotty service - for example, water pitchers were set in the corner and you had to get up to pour your own water. At minimum, it would've been better to just leave pitchers on the table directly for faster access. Food was hit or miss. While we loved the appetizers, half of our table found their main entrees to be MEH. For example, my halibut arrived warm but the curry was room temperature. My colleague said her burger was one of the worst she's had. My other colleague said his steak was mediocre. People who ordered pizza loved it. An unfortunate mixed bag given the lively environment and nice ambiance. I'd come back again to give it another try because the menu rotates enough where I'm sure I'll land on some better food options next time.

The inside almost feels like a house that was renovated into a restaurant in the coolest way possible with a very open layout, stripped-down feel, and a super unique kitchen setup literally right behind the bar. If you're a Star Wars fan, this place is a must. The theme throughout the restaurant was awesome and definitely added to the experience for us since we're huge Star Wars people. The staff overall was really friendly and welcoming too. Special shoutout to the hostess Lea super friendly... wink wink if you know, you know. Our server was chipper and sweet the whole time. She did accidentally get our drinks wrong and forgot the cheese on my burger, but honestly it wasn't a huge deal because she was so nice about everything. The burger itself was decent but a little dry. I did appreciate the extra pickles though because that's exactly how I like it. Now let's talk about the real reason to go here- drumroll... Cheese Whiz cheesesteak. Absolutely incredible. Honestly one of the best cheesesteaks I've had in a long time and 100% worth the drive alone. The cheese curds were also really good and definitely worth ordering for the table. And when I mean drive I mean drive, just a few hours south from Chicago aka Bear land, GO BEARS Overall, not every single item blew us away, but the atmosphere, Star Wars theme, friendly staff, and THAT cheesesteak made this place memorable. We'd absolutely come back just for the Cheese Whiz sandwich.
