I just saved a trip to Elkhart!!…read more We live in a Thor Palazzo RV full time. We've been stranded multiple times because we couldn't get our right (kitchen) slide to retract. We discussed this with Thor and they suggested we come back to the factory to get it addressed. We couldn't decide if it was alignment our the controller. With winter, we opted to deal with it until spring. Over the past 4 weeks, we were again stranded 3 times. The first time, Thor service gave us a tip on reversing the wiring at the controller (under the right side bay). That worked and got us on the road. The next stop had the same issue and again we were stranded. A local mechanic showed me a process to override the controller and again got us on the road. We recently hit Denver for two weeks so I began looking for a way to get it fixed. After three calls to Lazy Days RV which were never returned, I talked to a Overall RV. They were helping me with a frozen valve in the water bay. Turns out the tech was the owner...he and his partner did slide alignments at Camping World for years. They looked at my slide and measured the alignment. I was off by more the 1 1/2 inches, top to bottom putting a strain on the motors and the controller. They gave me an estimate to fix it on site. The cost to drive to Elkhart IN along with continued frustration made my decision easy... two hours later, they aligned the slide, checked the controller and motors, lubbedd the tracks, checked the rollers and tested the slide at least 8 times. They ended their appointment by telling me they reduced my expense by $200! Because only one end of the slide was off track, their labor was less... Oh and they did this work on New Year's Day! A huge shout out to Overall RV Service in Denver CO. They walked me through every step of the process so I would understand what they were doing and how I could keep up with maintenance going forward. They never said a negative word about Thor or the Palazzo and demonstrated a strong knowledge of the rig and systems. Awesome job and keeps us on the road! We love our Palazzo. There are things I can and cannot do on my own. When we find a good technician and honest business, we do our best to let the folks know. If in this area and need help, give them a call... I'm back on the road tomorrow!! Happy New Year!

The rental company we had reserved a van with did not have a van available. They were not able to explain why the van I had reserved was not ready for my crew. We were stranded in the rental area without transportation. Mr. Chancy Quarles, the manager of Mile Marker Rentals overheard my conversation and approached me to help. He reviewed his inventory and was able to provide a 12-passenger van for my crew. He even matched the price, although he did not have to. When we returned, I dropped off my crew at the airport and returned the van. He drove me back to the airport so I could be with my crew without having to wait for the shuttle. I highly recommend giving Mile Marker Van Rentals a call if you need a van. They also provide local outdoor tours. Thank you Mr. Chancy Quarles for taking care of my crew.

After 11 months, we took our camper to another facility to complete repairs All Stars still had not done. All Stars could or would not schedule our repair. In hindsight, I think it doesn't have scheduling software (it seems to manage repairs with plastic sleeves full of customer information hung on multiple walls in the office). We dropped our camper off to wait its turn. Colton Swan (owner's son) told us we would have it back in 8 weeks. It actually took 4 months (twice as long) to complete only some of the repairs, but we needed the camper so we took it. After we picked the camper up, the warranty company told me repeatedly that All Stars had not given it what it needed to authorize more repairs. To speed things up, I wrote words for Colton to send to the warranty company in an email. He told me he could not send emails to it. But he later admitted he could and he even sent me an email he had received back from the warranty company. In the end, I sent a letter to the warranty company with the information it needed and it authorized an additional five repairs. I asked Colton to order parts for those repairs right away. After three weeks, I called about the additional repairs. No one answered. I left a voicemail, asking about the repairs. No one ever responded to my message. I called again the next day and again the day after that and still got no answer. We ended up going on a trip without having the repairs made. During our trip, the thermostat (one of the repairs not yet made) failed completely. We had to figure out how to install a new thermostat while we were sitting in the campground. When we got back home 6 weeks after I asked Colton to order parts, I emailed him about the rest of the repairs. He did not respond. Two days later, I called and he happened to answer. When I was talking to him, he checked a vendor's website and told me it was in the process of shipping a new oven (one of the repairs). In other words, Colton did not order the oven until he got my email six weeks after I asked him to order parts. And he still had not ordered any of the other parts. When we got the oven installed, I asked Colton to refund what we had paid for one of the repairs the warranty company later authorized. Colton referred us to Rob, his father and owner of the company. Rob told me he would not give us a refund because it would screw up his computer. Huh?! I told Rob I was frustrated that Colton had taken so long to order the oven and that he still had not ordered any of the other parts. Rob told me that was in the past and he prefers to live in the present. I'm not kidding. That's really what he said. Then he told me I could yell at him all I wanted. I did not want to yell at him. I just wanted to get the repairs made. Rob ended up shrugging his shoulders and walking away. After we left All Stars that day, I sent Colton an email to make sure he had ordered the other parts. He never responded. By then, it was then 11 months after we first dropped our camper off at All Stars. I contacted another repair facility to complete the remaining repairs. I am happy to report the new repair facility is far more responsive than All Stars.

It was so cold that our morning urine broke the layer of ice that had formed in the toilet. We called the help line for cruise America and the walked us through the heat not working. After an hour and a half, the technician was stumped. The propane in the unit (oven) was working even though it was turned off at the source. However the heater was still not working. We were directed to a local mechanic. After 3.5 hours of him taking the unit apart and putting it pack together he shared with us that the unit had been tampered/serviced prior to him opening it up. He could tell by the fingerprints in the dust but the unit was unrepairable according to him. He gave us a space heater and sent us on our way. As we moved into Utah and Colorado from LA we started to smell propane. We called the helpline once again. The call was two fold, first because the windshield washer fluid wasn't working (in snowy conditions) and because of the smell of propane. We told the helpline about the smell of propane (ad headaches it was causing) and they told us that our only choice was to keep driving. As far as the windshield; they said to throw water on it from a cup as we were driving to clean it off - you can't make this up. We finally figured out that the windshield washer fluid was filled with ONLY water by the LA location - very dangerous! AND after fighting with Cruise America for the last 6+ months about forcing us to drive with a propane leak for 500+ miles they offered us a gift card. Extremely insulting. Come to find out, Cruise America replaced the heater in our vehicle after we returned it. We also stayed in hotel rooms for the last two nights of our events rental due to the propane smell (cruise America, in their terms states they will not reimburse you if you don't have heat or a/c - however their terms say nothing about your safety if your RV is leaking propane into the cab). Don't risk it, DO NOT rent w Cruise America. They ONLY care about the bottom line. You the customer are 100% not their concern, your money however is. Just know it!

We picked our RV up at the Cruise America in Castle Rock, Colorado. I will spare you the details, however it became clear as we were packing our things in, the RV had not been cleaned. We spent over an hour cleaning it ourselves which delayed our trip. Later in our trip we realized it had not been dumped either. We cruised America with other people's shit on board and then we dumped it. On our last night, water started leaking onto the floor in the bathroom and kitchen. We hadn't even used the water except for about 10 hours total and the leak damaged some of our belongings. I believe the woman, Lynn, at Cruise America in Castle Rock knew she was giving us a dirty, full RV and took advantage of us being first timers. We have reached out to customer service who said they will be in touch with in a month as there is no phone number only an email for contact. Icing on the cake. Thankfully our stops along the way were beautiful and if we ever do another RV trip we learned it is worth spending more money to get an RV and respectful customer service.
