My first visit at Maven Coco left me pleasantly surprised - the inventory was similar to the way it always was. The racks were still perfectly filled with quality items at decent prices. Items were nicely displayed and it was easy to peruse the racks because they weren't overstocked. I was able to find several pieces to buy that day. Sadly, my next two visits left me a bit disappointed. First the young girl behind the counter does not greet or talk to you at all. She sits looking down at her phone the whole time I'm in there. Yet, the shoe shelf is disheveled, lots of the clothes on the racks are not straightened - buttoned, tied, adjusted on the hangers so that it doesn't fall off when you move the hanger, etc.. The racks are filled almost beyond the ability to move the items easily. The prices are now pretty outrageously steep - even for quality, higher end items. I hope this is just temporary and that my next visit will prove me wrong.

I asked them to hem, and do "work on my bridesmaid dress" to cover my cleavage and shorten the straps. The expert seamstresses came up with an idea to reuse the hemmed fabric to add a much needed inch to the draping of the bodice to cover my over exposed cleavage. They were able to do a rush job turnaround in a week, and the results were stunning. I would have been embarrassed to show so much skin, but they did such a beautiful job that the bride loved the dress on me even more. And their store location is beautiful. It took 3 stylists just to hook the dress together before it could be zipped up. I had not gained any weight since ordering, and the dress felt like it had been ordered a size too small. The stylist who was helping me put on the dress kept reassuring me that the gown had a hard corset, and because it was strapless, it was meant to fit that tightly. Well before my actual wedding, I had my courthouse ceremony... I needed a lot of help to get the dress hooked on, and when it came time to drive to the courthouse, I couldn't even sit up. I had to lean the car seat all the way back in order to make it to the courthouse. The entire afternoon I was so uncomfortable that I didn't even want to drink water. After that experience, I brought my dress to Marina at Le Caprice. She took one look at my back and didn't even bother zipping me up. She assured me that my dress was too small, that it was not just in my head, and offered to remove the zipper and replace it with a corset back! I was nervous because I really loved the top part of my dress and how snatched it made my waist look, but when I received my dress it still looked just as perfect! Not only that, but I was completely comfortable in it when I was sitting and eating at my reception (: Marina was able to complete the alterations super fast at a fair price and I think the corset was elegantly executed.
