    Parkerz -

My first Galentine brunch went exceptionally well, didn't expect it would be so much fun. The pink room with artificial cherry blossoms set the perfect tone for the occasion and we were all dressed in pink to match. Elizabeth waited on us. She was very cheerful and efficient . Got the nojitos for drinks, which are non alcoholic mojitos. I took the Purple Poison and others got the Mango, Strawberry etc. One ordered the Moroccon tea, and it came in a cute artistic pot. All non- alcoholic were priced between 8-$11. For food got the Cauliflower for starters. It was hot and pretty good. Then came the pasta, the Caprsese Avocado toasts and lastly the hummus pita. This was just our vegetarian table. The Avocado toasts was yummy but I found it a tad salty. Maybe because of the sweet drink , I don't know. The pasta was hot creamy and just the right texture. The hummus and pita was fresh but compared to the others mentioned above faded a bit in glamour. Last came the Molton lava cake with butterscotch icecream.... yummy..... and perfect way to end the meal. Parkerz has brunch options and right now Galantine special is going on. I must mention that they have so many spots to take some great insta worthy pics including the little waterfall at the back. Beware, Construction is going on at the entrance, and I hope they can do something about the wires over the waterfall so pics can be even better. There were many groups that came to celebrate today, there was group of gals all dressed in pure white, a bday gal gang .... girls day out it was ! Happy Galantine's Day to all the ladies out there.

Cute place. I like that it has a traditional parking lot. Went on a Sunday around 12 for brunch. It was empty! Don't know if that's good or bad. I felt like the waitress could have been a bit more aware of her timing, especially at the end. I feel like we waited extremely long to pay our tabs. I got the chicken tenders and waffles. Beautiful presentation but the chicken tenders have 0 taste.

This quaint space is nestled on Westheimer and is a great space to study or a casual night out. They offer assorted coffees, mocktails and fresh juices. My absolute favorite is the Purple Poison- lemonade mixed with elderflower that is tart goodness. Their beef burger and wings are equally as amazing. Hookah is about $13 and very smooth. Service is always nice and attentive. I love that the music is never too loud which holds space for conversation and for those studying.

Intro: I stopped by Parkerz on a Sunday for dinner. This Mediterranean spot is known for its hookah, Mediterranean fare, and trendy ambiance. Once I arrived, they had three different sections you could sit in: the patio, the main indoor area, or the "library" area. Ambiance (5/5): This is where Parkerz really shines. I've been to quite a few hookah spots in my life and they all look pretty similar. That's not the case here. You seem like you're in a tropical jungle while you're sitting indoors in the main dining area. Tropical vibes. The patio is also nice but we thought it would be a little too toasty when we visited. If you want more of an intimate experience, check out the small "library" area. Pick your poison. Service (3/5): Standard service. A little slow. Not terribly attentive. But friendly and they did the job. Drinks (3/5): Some hookah spots serve alcohol and some don't. This one doesn't. Instead, you can order bottled water (they don't have free water), juices, soft drinks, or mocktails. I've always been anti-mocktails because I feel like they're grossly overpriced so I went with an iced tea. Food (4/5): We started with the baba ganoush (eggplant appetizer) which is served with fresh pita bread. A little more pita bread would have been nice as we finished the two pieces of bread with a good amount of dip leftover. From there, we shared the mixed platter which comes with a chicken kebab, lamb kebab, and ground meat kebab. Plus rice, a little bread, and a tomato and cucumber salad. This is a good dish to order if you like some variety. The meat was well seasoned and juicy. The saffron rice was plentiful. And the salad was fresh. Overall: If you're looking for some solid Mediterranean food and hookah, while in a cool environment, give Parkerz a try. There's free parking in the parking lot they share with other businesses. It was a bit busy when I was there but I found a spot.

This is one of the few spots in Houston that I call my favorite. Good food and reasonable prices. Always friendly staff to meet and greet you. Plenty of seating options inside and outside in the patio and big fountain. And an extra icing on the cake a small prayer room.

The food was pretty good my friends and i only went to eat over here for a late brunch. When we were done with the food and asked for the check to our surprise they had charged each of us a 23 service fee we didn't even know about ! I feel like that's something we should know ahead of time. The places is great for photos if you are trying to get a few insta pics after you eat.

One of my favorite spots in Houston. Service is always good and the food is always tasty what more can you ask for. I went there for my first time and came back the next day with my family. It's also halal so that made it even better. My go to is the lamb chops, they are a little spicy but packed with flavor. My lady enjoyed it a lot as well because of the vibes she was able to take nice little pictures and enjoy her food. Whenever I'm in the Houston area I make sure this is one of my stop

The atmosphere/staff I absolutely love this place! Upon walking in, I was greeted by the receptionist. She asked me if I would like to sit inside or outside. I chose to sit outside because it was a nice day. They have beautiful landscaping outside and beautiful design inside also. If you do choose to sit outside, make sure you still walk around the inside. It's so much to see and it's just an experience. The outside area has a really big grotto/waterfall and it's very relaxing. The food The food was to die for! it was so amazing. It had great flavor and everything came quite quickly. One thing that I really loved about this restaurant was that they are alcohol free. That may not be appealing for some people, but it was for me because I typically go with mocktails anyway, so it was really nice that they had such a variety of mocktails to choose from. I ended up just getting an appetizer to share with the table, wings and a dessert. All of the food was so good. I wish I could've tried more of the food, but I was just so stuffed after eating all of that. I would highly recommend giving them a try!

Came here for a birthday dinner on a Thursday during spring break. There was no wait at all then I learned many were observing Ramadan, including the owner and servers so it was understandable. We had the jungle themed room and reserved for our party and they allowed us a few balloons and centerpieces to make the place pop. The decor is fun and unique, can come off a little tacky but definitely works to draw a crowd for pictures and Instagram worth moments. The food was very good. I won't lie, I was surprised. We got the wings, although they lacked lemon pepper flavor, they were cooked to perfection and very hot! Also ordered the sampler which had hummus and pesto with naan and simosas. Lastly, a gyro with lamb and pesto. All very delicious. Prices were considerably adapt to the area. The place was ok in cleanliness. I do think sometimes you can miss things getting properly cleaned when your decor is this overwhelming but nothing was down right dirty...could just use a touch up. Greasy finger prints on the tables and cups that were a little slick. There were three other themed rooms that were also cute. I would return.

Came here for dinner with a friend. Loved the decor to the drinks, the food, and the service. There are multiple rooms with various decor and photo opportunities. Free parking and plenty of it. Free entry. No reservations are needed. Just show up and enjoy. If it wasn't cold, I would have sat outside on the patio near the waterfal. This place has ample space, decent music, great service, and delicious food drinks. Food: Chicken shwarma 10/10 Chicken kabob 9/10 Parkerz shrimp 8/10 Mocktails: Strawberry lemonade 7/10 Purple poison 10/10. Just try it! Where do I begin? I cane here to celebrate a friend's birthday, I had never been here before. The ambiance was beautiful. Our wait staff was on top of his game! Service was impeccable! He was kind, courteous, and fast! The food was amazing and portioned just right. The fried cauliflower, delicious!!!! 10/10 recommend! I also ordered the salmon over rice...so good, and enough to take some home too! I will be returning!

The food was so good, I had to take a pic with the cooks

Give Elizabeth a raise. She is the best waitress. This place is phenomenal. My first time and the food is 10/10.

I didn't catch the bartender's name, but he greeted us immediately. There was only one other patron and the staff was decorating the bar with Christmas decor. The bartender informed us that the bar wasn't fully stocked but asked us what types of drinks we like. Based on my preference, he suggested a Martinez. I had never even heard of a Martinez but I was open to trying it. He made it, looked at it, and said it didn't come out right. He asked if it would be okay for him to redo it which I of course obliged. I appreciated the fact that he didn't serve me a drink that wasn't properly made. The wait was worth it. The Martinez tasted like a sweeter Negroni and I really enjoyed it! I'm glad I was able to visit one of the oldest bars in Houston. Friday after work during happy hour and the prices could not be beat, especially with their lobster bites (was sitting at about $30, and we got them half off!) Drinks were fantastic! I selected the "Golden Cadillac" that comes with a miniature bottle of Grand Marnier inside of it. Very good. My company decided on an array of appetizers for his "main course", while I went with their Fried Salmon (served with Mac and cheese, and collard greens). Omg! So tasty! The pepper was prevalent throughout, but it did not over power the flavor! I make collard greens at home (and learned from one of the best), and even I found theirs to be pretty good! My company selected fried ribs, along with the lobster bites, and crawfish queso dip, and their wings! I tasted what he got, and we both agreed that the wings were "off the chart" delicious with a beautiful straight off the grill smoky flavor! So good that he got another order to go! Lol. What made our experience there amazing was our server Ray (Rajean = think "the 90's TV Show "Living Single"..."smooches"!)...she was the best!! From her hello, to walking us through the menu (as first-timers), her recommendations, her energy, her smile, and her being very relatable. Loved her! My only gripe was the bathrooms, the ladies room needed attention (and could use a spruce all around). It doesn't help that it is a bit small, but yeah, they need to focus some efforts on ensuring it's upkeep. As for seating and parking, there is a bar area and limited seating toward the front of the restaurant, but it does extend to back of the house with additional seating. There is also patio seating as well. Because this place seems popular, it is best to reserve ahead to ensure your seating. Parking is very limited! They do however, offer valet (but at $20+). There is off-street parking, but be careful since this is a residential area and nothing is secure. All in all, I really had a great time and left with my belly full! Definitely worth checking out! What was lost is now found! Enjoy!

It's BYOB, offers hookah, smoothies, fresh juices, teas, and an extensive food menu with plenty of great priced food options. The service was decent, but the waiter could have been more attentive to our table. Unfortunately, the hookah wasn't the best. The shisha flavors weren't prominent enough to really enjoy not even the mint flavor. I don't think a hookah has to be made with Love 66 to be flavorful, so that was a bit disappointing. On the bright side, the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Four seasoned lamb chops for under $30 is a great deal! I ordered mine medium well and substituted the hummus for french fries and kept the rice. The meal came with a white garlic tzatziki sauce and what I believe was a red spicy sauce called harissa sauce. The tzatziki sauce was very good with the rice and is definitely worth trying. The menus description of mixed vegetables was misleading to me. Instead of an actual scoop of mixed vegetables (what I thought I was getting) it came with a single slice of onion, tomato, and bell pepper, which felt more like garnishes than a side. I didn't get a chance to try the chicken philly sub or gyro wrap because my friends cleaned their plates before I could grab a bite. From the emptiness of their plates that should tell you all you need to know about how good the food was. Overall, Cafe Layal is a convenient spot with plenty of parking. It's a good place to study, hang out with friends, or enjoy affordable hookah, plus it's BYOB with only a small corkage fee. I'm just not ok with a dj who is being paid by the owner, telling folks or allowing the MC to tell folks in order to request a song, you gotta pay. If I chose to tip him, so be it, but being forced ain't cool. My biggest complaint was the price of everything. Now I'm a country chick and realize that prices are more expensive in the city. I was approached by the manager and I told her I needed a set up. She asked me what chasers I wanted and I said water and coke. I was charged separately for the water and coke that was supposed to be included in my set up.... so all together for a set up and a hookah, I paid over $60. I've never paid, IN HOUSTON, more than $10 for a set up and $35 for a hookah. Then they have small 4 oz paper cups to get the ice out with. After all this she attempted to charge me a bottle fee for each bottle I brought in. I sincerely think the young lady wasn't sure about what she was doing. Again she maintained her professionalism but she looked overwhelmed. Let's move on to those hookahs, the flavor lasted maybe 10-15 minutes and then the other lady who was helping refresh the coals was firmly pressing them down on the foil. I called her to the side and advised her that she was going to burn the shisha like that and sure enough my next puff was nothing but burnt shisha. They did replace it for free so I can't say much about that but overall....... The employees need training, I think they were overwhelmed and I think y'all were understaffed to serve the amount of people that accompanied this party...
