Great location. Every neighborhood needs a local place like this. Large back patio area with tables, chairs and umbrellas. Lots of toys for kids to play with while moms and dads enjoy a cup of whatever gets them going. Service was extremely friendly and the munchies were great too. Our dog was with us and she was happy to simply be mellow laying out in the sun. One child came over and asked what kind of dog she was and what was her name and if she could pet her. Shiba Inu, Mochi and yes. I saw some comments about prices being on the higher side. I recognize what people are saying. It's unfortunate that so many things seem to be getting out of reach of many Americans. I wish I had the magic wand that would make it so that more people could afford what they needed and that the business owners would still make a decent profit and share some of that with their employees in the form of living wages and benefits. I'm old school and we managed to both save and invest during our working lives. And now in retirement, we still don't spend like there's no tomorrow. When the news broke in our local community Facebook group of a new coffee shop opening nearby, I viewed it as (another) sign of positive change in Parkrose. Every since moving here five years ago, I've been paying keen attention to this neighborhood's transformation; with a few outliers, most of it has been positive, and proof that things are headed, for the most part, in the right direction. Despite being shut out on opening day due to crazy long lines and wait times, I returned a week later to grab an iced matcha and a croissant for my wife, while out running errands, and I was pleased to confirm that my initial suspicions were correct: this place is great, and a wonderful addition to the neighborhood! Fantastic beverages, excellent pastries, warm and friendly (if a little green) service, and a literal stone's throw away from our house - no more driving over to 122nd to grab her a coffee on the weekends, when Barista Brew is closed! With plenty of seating (indoor and outdoor, including a surprisingly large patio/paved lot, perfect for seasonal events, when the weather cooperates), a small play place for the littles, and all the perks (get it?!) mentioned above, Parkrose Coffee Shop is everything this neglected part of Portland needs more of, and more! I am a regular to this sweet NE Portland coffee shop. The barista is always friendly, knows our names, and there are always cute free stickers! That's the tip of the iceberg for this family friendly spot - there is an indoor kiddo play spot, and a large outdoor area with playset and bikes. Cute little coffee shop with lots of stuff for small children. This would be a great place for a mom meet up and have kids play outside or they have a cut setup inside with books, and little play kitchen and tables. I ordered a lavender iced latte and it wasn't very good. Kind of bummed me out when I was driving away but I was on my way out of town and needed coffww. Love our new neighborhood coffee shop! Right down the street and went for their soft opening. The coffee is amazing and smooth! So good. Many assorted pasteries and we tried several. The croissants were super flakey, the coffee cake was super moist and they have the cutest personalized shortbread cookies! We usually judge a coffee shop by its lattes. The espresso was full, energetic, and had some wonderful flavor notes, though a bit darker than we prefer. The milk was foamed right and hot enough. The croissants were perfectly flaky and chewy. The interior was bright and cheery. It isn't a large place, but we made it there before a big crowd, so we were happy. Their beans are roasted by local roaster, which I always prefer. Service was fast and friendly. Great job overall! read more

Needed a coffee shop and wifi and discovered this gem in the neighborhood. Clearly quite new, bright, cheerful, welcoming staff, good latte, adequate wifi. Huge patio out back and a really cozy and charming interior 2-room space with actually comfortable window bench seating (aided by some darling cheerful pillows). I'm a fan; well worth a visit and the sort of business that should make folks think about re-visiting and re-investing in corners of Portland that need good energy. Thank you! read more
