Friendly vegan only neighborhood coffee shop that roasts their own coffee, serves simple breakfast goods, plays the chillest music and has ample seating. Inside is welcoming and gives cabin vibes with a high wooden ceilings and an abundance of plant life. The owner is at the counter serving the coffee or just to chat you up. They roast their own beans which are a blend of Brazilian and Mexican, and also single origin Mexican. Both are smooth, with the blend being the obvious bolder choice. They do only have vegan milks, so keep that in mind when coming here to order a milky drink. I ordered a drip and it was light enough to drink straight. If you have a pet or just need some fresh air, there is a covered patio that has a few picnic tables and a good view of passersby on Weidler. Would come again to try a vegan cortado and the chill vibes that this spot brings.

Obsessed with the garden variety latte. You can ask for it hot too. The breakfast bagel sandwich was yummy, especially the dill spread on the sourdough. Love how spacious the cafe is and there's a significantly large patio to work outside during the spring and summer. There's also sugar free options like a sugar free vanilla latte that you can get. Baristas were kind!

(Bad photo) A satisfying vegan breakfast sandwich and yummy spicy chai.

My tune has changed after six years. Spicy chai was excellent and vegan breakfast sandwich (opt for the Mama's Lil Peppers) was better than expected.

Just moved to Portland and have been on the hunt for a chill spot to enjoy some coffee outdoors--and Jetblack totally delivered. Their patio is perfect: cozy wooden picnic benches, green-painted floors that blend in with the trees, and plenty of fresh air. Bonus: it's a fully vegan shop with four non-dairy milk options (soy, coconut, oat, and almond) and they use organic syrups.

    Cardi B latte. Soooo good.

Amazing coffee place we stumbled on which happened to be vegan which we happen to be as well. Breakfast sandwich was AMAZING!

came here to get coffee and a snack, left with one of the best vegan breakfast sandwiches of my life. it's dramatic but i've never had a sourdough english muffin that good before! i got 2 iced lattes (vanilla and pistachio) that were alright. service was fast and friendly and overall cute coffee shop vibe

I was having a crappy day, and it was still early in the day. I was driving home in an area I'm unfamiliar with. Traffic was backed up. The silver lining of my day came in the guise of an all vegan coffee shop. I was hungry and ordered the breakfast sandwich. It was made with Just Egg. When I got the sandwich, thought it looked a little plain. But it sure packed a flavor punch! It was delicious! I didn't order coffee because I still had quite a drive home. I loved the edgey vibe of this coffee shop, cool artwork!

Love this vegan place! Tucked away in the Gateway neighborhood next to a vegan sandwich food cart and Food Fight vegan grocery. Their policies are fairly strict when it comes to COVID - they still require masks and are not allowing indoor seating at the moment. However, they have a decent sized patio you can sit on to enjoy your coffee. I went today (Saturday) and they had a special banana-based creamer. I didn't try it but it seemed to be popular. I did get the iced latte and a squash green onion scone - both delicious. I appreciate that they serve their "for-here" coffees in mason jars and have real plates/silverware rather than paper or plastic ones to reduce waste. Plant-lovers, check out their collection! Some impressive plants. Guess I need to take lessons from them on both coffee-making and keeping plants alive.

Walking in less than an hour before closing, we were surprised to see most of the items still in stock! We ended up picking four things to try: Vanilla Bean Kouign Amann ($7) - This pasty has a sweet yet salty exterior that's complementary in flavor rather than clashing. It's accentuated with a crunchy glazed and caramelized sugar layer that's on the sweeter side. The interior is interesting. There's a cavernous gap right in the center that's filled with a sickly sweet melted sugar syrup. It's unpleasantly sweet and very cloying. The puffed and filled area is large enough that it compresses the other layers so the kouign amann is dense. I've never had a kouign amann quite this sweet before. (3/5) Meyer Lemon Olive Oil Cake with Thyme ($5.50) - This cake is so moist and rich, thick and dense, fatty and rich, that it feels like I"m eating a slab of butter. I'm sure it has just as many calories too! It's quite sweet, although not nearly to the level of the kouign amann. Overall, it's just a really rich and decadent cake. (4/5) Blueberry + Vanilla Cream Brioche Donut w/ Earl Grey ($6) - The top of the pastry is dressed with a cream that has an unmistakably strong bergomot earl grey taste. I wish there was way more cream - there's essentially only a dab on top! The rest of the donut is filled with a custardy light blueberry and vanilla jam. It's not too sweet and has an excellent high quality blueberry fragrance, creating an exceptionally strong blueberry taste. The jam is not too thick and is somewhat syrupy from sugar. The donut itself is really soft and extremely airy. It's the fluffiest donut I've eaten in a long time. (5/5) Raspberry Rose Cruffin ($8.50) - This pastry has some fun dehydrated raspberries sprinkled right on top of a light and fluffy cream that's not too sweet. The cruffin base is buttery in taste and great lamination even when filled with the custard and rose/raspberry cream. This is a heavy cruffin that's very filling. (5/5) Twisted Croissant certainly does some some really delectable treats. It's one of my favorite bakeries in Portland!

Crispy, airy, buttery and oh, so delicate, my raspberry cruffin was the dessert dreams are made of! If you've never had a cruffin... what are you waiting for?! It's croissant dough baked into a muffin shape. And the particular version I ordered today was filled with sweet and creamy vanilla custard and raspberry jelly. My mouth is watering describing this now, a true sign I'll be returning to experience this delicacy time and time again. There are three locations of Twisted Croissant in Portland, and this is the only one I've visited. The interior has a classic Parisian bakery vibe, clad in white subway tile from floor to ceiling. The bakery case in front of the store is beautifully stocked with fresh pastries, perfect for enjoying with a cup of coffee or tea. However, be advised, there are only two tables in the back of their public space, so it's not particularly inviting space to sit and enjoy your breakfast. Given the location, I assume there is outdoor seating in the summer months, but don't quote me on that. Regardless, run here if you haven't been. These baked goods are worth the visit!
