Gotta love a local market that's a one stop shop ! Let's get into it . The staff I love them lol they're so cool and funny . Great energy . They have produce like eggs milk cheese veggies / freezer food / cabinet ingredients and canned food . I stop here if I'm missing an avocado or an onion . Parkside Market is a staple... a hidden gem that is unknown outside the East County area. The market is a market with probably an over abundance of variety. The real nugget is in the back, beyond the narrow aisles is the Deli! My family has been grilling sausage coils from here for over 20 years. Uncle Gerry always had these since he lived string there corner, for every family gathering, from birthdays to super bowl parties! The help & service at the meat counter was very fast and those serving me, inquired of my life and reason for visiting. This was my spot growing up! (Review only for Sandwiches) which used to be "on Point". While the market has really stepped up products like clothing, hair care, I can't say the same for sandwiches. If "bready" was a word this would have described my sandwich on that day. In all fairness, a new young lady made my sandwich. 3 slices of meat (I counted). I always ask for regular sandwich bread, so it's not the roll. Because this was the second time I had a sandwich like this is the last 6 months, i rated this a 3. Happened to be passing by this area (still had to detour about 20 miles) but all we could think about was the sausages. Went in for some of their Italian Sausage. Now, we've gotten some of the spicy when it is SUPER spicy. This time it was just right spicy. AMAZING. It comes in a coil that the Mr cut up after he bbq'd it and my 13 year old even couldn't help himself & went back for a second piece. I'm sure others from the area will say the same. The convenience store has always been great for the community. Conveniently right across the street from city park. The meat market (inside the store) is the star of the show. They make fresh sandwiches. Sell deli meats. Sell butchered meats. They have a very good marinated tri tip. My favorite is known as the legendary Parkside Sausage! They have many flavors but my favorite is the hot. If you have ever made sausage before...you know how labor intensive it is. So when you see the price per pound know that you are getting a deal. I have and will continue to support our local gem and highly recommend that you do too. read more

Having lived in a small town in Arkansas in the "Silver Era" I'm glad to have finally visited this place in the "Golden Era" and see what the buzz is about because the buzz is real in my neck of the woods. Now without turning this into into the review, allow me to tell you why I gave "Parkside Market" that 5 stars. "Parkside Market" Location - Pittsburg, Ca Food - Roast Beef Hogie, Spicy Head Cheese, Italian Saugage. Price - $34.00 Parkside Market: "Parkside Market" sits right off the freeway very close to the Pittsburg City hall and Police station. City Park and the Army National Guard post is nearby as well. Parkside market is everything you should come to expect out of your small neighbor hood market. They have your selection of snacks, beverages, ethnic fair, supplies ect. The perfect place if you forget to grab something from the bigger markets and you don't want to have to run back to grab it. The biggest draw for this market I would have to say would be the "Meat Counter/Deli" For me it was the reason why I came. Now, I've heard people from all over that's been to this market, on and off "Yelp" that mention the sausages here. I also hear people talk about how good the hogies (Sandwiches) are here. So with my mind pretty made up, I was going to get some of everything popular, here is what I thought.. Italian Sausage $9.99 - They had about 5 different kinds of Italian Sausage here when I visited this day, but as I waited in line for it, it was going pretty fast. I wanted to grab some to throw in the grill, I was lucky to get a pound of the mild and pound of the spicy sausage. Let me tell you, IDK if they make this themselves or if someone else makes it, but I see why it goes so fast. The sausages here are delicious. Just the right amount of seasonings and you can tell not a crap ton of fillers. Just on a lightly toasted bun with a beer, these were a hit and were gone pretty fast. Next time I'll have to just get more. Roast Beef Hogie Full Size $8.99 - I like coming to a place like this and getting a sandwich. It's almost like the whole make up of the sandwich is different. I opted for the full size Roast Beer with Swiss. I did omit a few ingredients, but it was pretty good. I liked the soft yet crusty sesame seed roll they used, I had this as a later on snack, needless to say, I gobbled it right up. The full size really is big enough for two people to share one sandwich, im just a glutton sometimes. I can't help it sometimes. Spicy Head Cheese $4.99 - Due to new regulations, they here serve the deli meats already pre-sliced and avaliable in a pound or half pound packages. Head Cheese may not be for everyone, but I love it. Next to Liver Cheese which they didn't have....I was a fan for the kind they had here. This I ate the next day with crackers and it was pretty good. This would be perfect in a Banh Mi style sandwich. Wasn't overly gelatinous as some head cheeses can be and it had the right amount of the bits of meats and other stuff that makes a good head cheese. I will forsure be back for more. In Closing: "Parkside Market" seems to hold a place in many people hearts. As I know people who have moved from the area, and still make the drive here to get their fix. There are other similar small markets in my general area. But non of those places seem to have the allure that "Parkside Market" does in my opinion. So I totally get it, I see why this place is so popular. I would totally recommend if you're in the area to at least have a sandwich from here. But if you ever plan on grilling something, the Italitan Sausages here are da bomb!! Glad to finally have made my way in, and now there's no turning back for me, I'm a fan. read more

I go with their veggie and My husband goes with their ham, turkey. They also have a deal on the chips 1$ for two bags of small bags of chips. I thought that was pretty cool. Staff are pretty cool and they have a market where you can do your grocery shopping, if need to be. But back to the yummy sandwiches, there bread makes the deal breaker for me. My husband and I drive all the way from Sacramento for their Mild Italian sausage! My husband found out about this spot from his trucker co-worker. We BBQ it and have it with rice, put it in pasta, eat it with veggies, hot dog style.... whatever you want with it. I can't explain the flavor. It's just the perfect amount of meat and fat and you can literally see the fresh herbs they put in the sausage. We're such fans that we bought Parkside Sausage t-shirts. Only thing is I wish they updated the hours on yelp for the deli for people who drive from other cities. We had to wait a whole hour last time to get the sausage plus our drive time. EVERYTHING ALWAYS FRESH. I like all flavors! It's a 10-15 min drive for me; I've been 3 times because the tri tip, and the spicy sausage is undeniably the best in the area as told by my friends and neighbors. My kiddos love the fresh ground beef for bbq burgers. I like that when I'm picking up goods for grilling they have chips/dips, cheese, fresh cilantro and all the necessary fixings.
