I've been coming here for 20 years and live about 25 miles away now, but won't leave them. They make sure to apprise you if insurance that may expire, and won't oversell or force you into unnecessary things. I've been a patient at this office for a long time and spent a significant amount of money here, including over $1,000 on Invisalign treatment. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have been extremely disappointing. Back in June 2024, when I was 7 months pregnant, my retainers broke and I needed a replacement. I scheduled an appointment and drove 45 minutes to the office, only to find out that Dr. Cho--the only provider who handles Invisalign--was not there that day. I had to make another trip. When I returned for my rescheduled appointment, the first thing the office manager said to me was, "Oh no, what are you doing here? We won't be able to help you." Being greeted that way, especially while pregnant and after already dealing with scheduling issues, was incredibly upsetting and unprofessional. I eventually paid for new retainers, expecting better quality and service. However, about a year and a half later, my "new" retainers cracked. When I called, I was again told I had to come in on a specific day to see Dr. Cho. I drove back down, assuming they would help fix the issue, but instead I was told they would not be doing anything. The doctor didn't even come out to speak with me or explain the situation. I had just missed two hours of work for something that could have been communicated over the phone. Throughout these experiences, I felt there was no understanding, no accountability, and no basic courtesy. To make matters worse, when I later called to speak with the doctor directly, I was hung up on. After years of being a loyal patient and investing a lot financially, this is not the level of care or respect I expected. I cannot recommend this office based on my experience. read more

I really appreciate this dental practice. I have been coming here for a few years or so now (my husband too), possibly longer and was just thinking today how nice of an experience I've had. No fuss. If you need something, they let you know and they fix it. When I was getting Invisalign elsewhere they made it a point to make sure the orthodontist didn't move my teeth too fast and I could tell they were looking out for my best interest. Went in for a cleaning and had a filling that needed to be repaired. Now it's fixed! Staff is friendly and both Dr. Cho and Dr. Shapiro are great. I've been seeing Dr. Shapiro the past couple years I believe and it's just so easy!!! Life can get busy so when you don't have to worry about your dentist upcharging you or doing a bad job, it makes life better! Would recommend this place. Easy to make appointments. Happened to come across this place in Yelp and it reminded me of my experience a decade ago and why I'm not a patient here anymore. Cho and Karimi said getting your wisdom teeth pulled in your 30s means you're very old and it's a very complicated procedure. They wanted over $6k for it after insurance. I saved for a while until someone convinced me to get a second opinion. I went to another place, she said you're not old, and this isn't that difficult. After insurance, it was under $300. I used to see Cho and his predecessor as my primary dentist before this incident. That was it. I will never ever trust Parkview Dental and I recommend anyone to stay away from here. read more

Please do not come here!! If you want good care and quality, this is NOT the place. I've been a patient for the past 3 years and after each appointment, I regret it each time. Without fail, every operation I've had done at this office has ended up with further complications! I am so frustrated and what's most disappointing is the lack of acknowledgment of their mistakes. I had a crown placed and they installed it wrong twice before finally getting it corrected. I had another crown placed later on and same thing happened, the crowns weren't installed correctly and broke. My final straw was today after I had been complaining about a tooth for the past 5 months during several visits without much solution. Now the tooth is infected and I have to get a root canal. Beware of this place I went in for a dental cleaning about a year ago and they insisted I needed my crown replaced due to discoloration along the gum line though I had no pain or any issues with it. They were making it seem so urgent. I went ahead and went along with what they suggested got a new crown replacement Ever since my new crown has been bleeding around the gums and just now I noticed black discoloration on the gumline already when my previous crown was 10 years old this new one shouldn't be doing that after one year with gushing blood with the water floss. I got regular floss, and the floss just keeps getting stuck underneath the tooth like I can pull it out, they also overcharged me in billing once I confronted the billing manager she said I would be reimbursed, months later I had to call them back to ask for my money. She then tried to pull it off like I had a credit on my account because she wasn't doing her part correctly, I am going to call tomorrow to see if they will rectify the situation though. It is too late to do a chargeback with my bank. I will have to try to call them if they do not want to do any reimbursement. I do not want to go back and have it "fixed" because I don't trust this place at all. Dr. Cho did the crown replacement. And I forget the lady in billings name but I believe there's only one girl in the office who handles that. read more

Parkview Dental is the absolute BEST! The quality of service is always unparalleled, the cleanings are so incredibly thorough and meticulous, and the people are amazing. The entire staff is so kind, welcoming, and accommodating. Since I have to squeeze my visits in during quick trips from San Francisco (I refuse to see any other dentist!), I've often had to cancel or reschedule at the last minute. The staff is always so patient and kind, always finding a way to make it work. And Dr. Cho is amazing. Just like the other 1 star reviews, BEWARE! I have never in my life experienced such terrible service before. I had veneers done at this office and quickly had issues with the work done. My gums became incredibly inflamed and infected. One tooth ended up needing a root canal due to the margins of the veneer being so poorly done. A second tooth also had infected and inflamed gums. I sought out three other dentists and each one of them confirmed the veneers were poorly done. When I went back to Parkview Dental to try and have them fix the issues they refused, and did not take ownership in their poor work. If anything, they tried to upsell me on other work they thought I needed instead. Then, when speaking to their office manager about the issues, and wanting at least some compensation back as this has cost me thousands at this point, she would take weeks to respond back to me and kept deflecting. I finally got new veneers from a different office, and all of my problems have been resolved now that I don't have Parkview's terrible veneers. This is an incredibly poorly run dental office. They have cost me thousands, left me in physical pain, and would not accept any responsibility in the matter. Awful! read more

I didn't expect to have to come back to leave yet another 1-star review for Parkview Dental--I really didn't. However, my treatment here seems to have become the gift that keeps on giving. How incredible that I originally gave them a 5-star review. -All of my teeth cleanings at Parkview dental were incorrectly labeled by their office as "Periodontal maintenance cleanings." At first, they did so in order to clean my teeth soon after having a routine teeth cleaning at my previous office. My subsequent cleanings at Parkview dental were billed at Periodontal maintenance cleanings as well, however, despite being routine cleanings. When the time came for me to actually see a periodontist--surprise, surprise--my yearly periodontal appointments had been used up by Parkview dental, requiring me to pay out of pocket. -During all new appointments, I've come to learn, are recommended a "laser cleaning service" for your teeth. The service is not covered by any insurance, and is $50 out-of-pocket. I asked the Dental hygienist how often I would need this laser treatment. Her reply: "If you keep your teeth clean, you'll never need it again." My wife received this treatment as well, and she suffered from inflamed gums (from gingivitis) soon after. The laser didn't do shit. -This office is one of those which are aggressive in recommending tooth fillings. They will rush you to get treatment (like a tooth filling), sign a contract, and get to work. GET A SECOND OPINION! -Dr. Cho always seems rushed, and generally comes across like an asshole. I couldn't imagine trying to work with this guy. After a dental surgery, he botched our prescription for pain medication in 3 separate places. The pharmacy wouldn't fill our prescription, so I needed to return to the office, have them call Dr. Cho, and wait a few more hours before he could return and give us a real prescription for pain medication. -Dr. Cho has been confrontational during appointments with me. I thought if I could avoid him, I could still come to Parkview Dental. However, I now know that's impossible. I made an appointment to see their periodontist (for my first REAL periodontal appointment with them, mind you). When I came in for my appointment, the receptionist asked why I was there. I told her my specific reason for seeing their periodontist; she miss-heard me and proceeded to change the purpose of my appointment without my knowing, cancelling my appointment and changing to another doctor. After waiting in the chair for 30 minutes, the wrong doctor came, so I needed to request to see the periodontist. Naturally, the receptionist cancelled my periodontal appointment, and so I would need to wait an ADDITIONAL hour in order to see him. I didn't have anything else in my schedule, so I said yes. A half-hour later, the same receptionist comes back, and gives me a bunch of reasons for why I wouldn't need to actually see a periodontist. OK...I guess I don't seed to see him, and I call another dental office that she refers me to for further dental work. I call that office and...they ask me first to get a referral from a periodontist. Whomp whomp. After calling Parkview Dental back, I explain this to the same receptionist, who then proceeds to blame ME for cancelling the appointment. I came in 10 minutes early, and waited over 30 minutes for my properly scheduled appointment, which I made 2 weeks earlier mind you. I gave up, and went to a better office for periodontal work in Tustin. It has been night-and-day at this office. Don't settle for Parkview Dental. It is only a matter of time before they are hit with malpractice and insurance fraud allegations. read more

Stay away! I live close to here and I thought I would be coming here for the rest of my life along with my entire family I guess the dentist doesn't know business 101 its always best to keep customers happy then go get new customers every time. Long story short he did my crown incorrectly and I was in pain for almost two years and they kept brushing me off and recommended I see a root cannel specialist. Turns out they did a botched job and my tooth was exposed giving me hyper sensitivity even to water. Bad dentist isn't this dental school 101 they show you how to properly seal the tooth. Thankful for the second dentist was able to save my tooth. RUN AWAY NOW IF YOU CAN! Below are the exact chain of events. Summary: Dr. Johnathan Cho DDS did crown work on tooth #19, May 19, 2017. Sensitivity started, badly that I can't let room temperature water touch it. At every subsequent visits the problem was dismissive. Constantly being told give it sometime. After his office referred me to a root cannel specialist I found a reputable dentist and it was found tooth #19 has open mesial and distal contacts and a new crown was needed. I had work done on tooth #19, a crown since it was cracked according to Dr. Johnathan Cho DDS. I had the crown placed on the tooth and after this occurred I had extreme sensitivity to hot/cold/sweets I did not have sensitivity on this tooth before. He recommended a mouth guard which I wear religiously. On subsequent visits. I continued to complain about the tooth sensitivity that did not have this issue prior to the procedure. At the most recent visit they recommended I see a specialist stating I may need a root cannel. These are the dates that are registered as claims but it seems there is a few more visits that were not documented here. 07/29/2019, 01/02/2019, 06/26/2018, 01/12/2018, 11/06/2017, 05/19/2017, 05/05/2017 In the meantime I requested for a retainer from Joanthan Cho's office Parkview Dentistry to be made to add to the mouth guard that I had already been using. It took the dental office 3 impressions and they still could not get it right. The retainer was not fitting properly and they said "just take it home and play with it, until it feels right, maybe you just need to wear it a little bit" I refused and said if it doesn't fit me here it is not going to fit me at home. So one of the gals was nice enough to offer a refund since they couldn't get the retainer right. Why am I brining this story up? It lends itself to me not feeling comfortable going back to this dental office if they couldn't even get my retainers done right maybe the same lab does botch jobs on their crowns too? Fast forward to the dental specialist evaluation at new dentist, they couldn't take an X-ray since I was pregnant, so I returned after delivery in January 2020. The New dentist filed/polished my tooth as it was sitting two high,( a mature mistake he left my tooth sitting two high even after all those visits LOL) With the new dentist I gave it two weeks to see if the sensitivity would go away it slightly helped but the sensitivity was still there. They attempted to do whatever they could to assist with my sensitivity. After further evaluation it was discovered tooth has open mesial and distal contacts and a new crown was recommended. Meaning Dr. Johnathan Cho did not seal my tooth correctly the nerves were exposed giving me hyper sensitivity even to room temperature water. In February 2020, I had the procedure redone and had to out of pocket. So the money I spent at Parkview was a waste of money, they refused to negotiate a settlement to assist in paying for the correction. So anyway, they lost a customer for life, I am very loyal customer and now they lost four customers all my family and I would never recommend this dentist to anyone , not even your worst enemy deserves this! Oh well live and grow $1212 down the drain at least deserves me venting on the truth! Come here if you want to get your dental work redone since they have no pride in their work or taking care of their customers by doing whats right. I even offered to file a claim with his malpractice insurance and nothing! My repayment will be everyone knowing how risky it could be to come here. read more

Dr. Fang has been our family dentist for over 10 years and we drive for an hour just to see her. She's super knowledgeable and gentle. I only trust her to deal with my daughter who unfortunately has had several fillings done at an early age. I wouldn't trust any other dentist besides Dr. Fang for my daughter and for me (I'm really squeamish about it dental needles!) If you need a patient and caring dentist, look no further than Dr. Fang. I am 30 years old and still hate going to the dentist. I put off buying dental insurance for 4 years, because my anxiety goes through the roof every single time, most dental assistants in my previous experiences have been idiots, so it's never fun. However, I finally sucked it up, and made an appointment a couple years ago. Parkview was the closest dentist covered by my insurance, so we made the appointment. It was a pleasant enough experience, the first time going in. The dental hygienist was kind, explained everything I needed to know in a compassionate manner, and put my anxiety at ease, and actually made me feel heard. But the dentist I had seen that day: rude. The only thing I remembered about her was that she was a female. Turns out, among a few fillings, I also needed my wisdom teeth removed. My appointment had been scheduled, and then COVID hit, and fortunately, they only pushed it back a month while they figured everything out. Went back to Parkview about a month or so later for a regular cleaning, and had the same amazing hygienist, and was advised that the next big thing needed done was a root canal. They referred me to another office, and told me that the other office would be calling to make an appointment. They never did. I forgot, and my tooth didn't hurt, so I never called to make an appointment, either. Kept seeing the referral paperwork pop up around my home, but by this point, I didn't have the funds in my account for it, due to work closures and everything. I'll get back to it when I can afford it, and again, just forgot. Fast forward to this past week, I got tired of food getting stuck in the cavity that needed filling (partly on the tooth that needs to be pulled, but I hadn't remembered about the root canal.) So I hiked my big girl panties up, and made another appointment for a filling. Still not looking forward to the shots and the drilling, my anxiety was super high again, but I went. And guess who my dentist was? The same super rude female from before. Dr. Ahmadi is condescending and demeaning and kept shaming me for not coming in sooner or having work done. She greeted me by saying "Why didn't you make the appointment with the endo before? I can't do that filling. It would be like putting a bandaid on a broken bone that has an infection. I can't do that. I can't touch that tooth, because if anything happens, then I'm liable for it." Thanks lady, good to see you, too. Whatever. I'm not going to ask for a different dentist today because I just want to get this taken care of and I don't want to wait longer. They put the lidocaine in, let it sit, and then came back to begin treatment, and I could feel it. So she added more. I could still feel it, but it wasn't painful, so I let it be. Then she hit something bad. Instantly started tearing up and shaking and was trying hard not to punch her out of pure reflex. "Oh, did that hurt? Here, let me put some more lidocaine in. Then we'll sit you up and let you relax for a bit." While I know it wasn't her fault, an apology in that situation can go a long way to make your PATIENT feel better. After about another 15 minutes, my face felt like it was the size of a softball, so I had assumed I was numb enough when she came back to ask, at which point she adds "Yeah, the infection can push the lidocaine out and make it less effective, and since it's right next to it, that's probably what happened. You need to get that taken care of and get that root canal." HOW ABOUT YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR PATIENTS AND TRY TO MAKE THEM FEEL BETTER, NOT WORSE WHEN THEY ALREADY DON'T WANT TO BE THERE. Gave Parkview a generous 2 stars for the REST of the staff, and asked the front desk to put a note on my account to never ever EVER schedule me with her again. There is a keurig machine for coffee and hot chocolate which was nice. 5/5 Dental assistant was very gentle with the X-rays. Hygienist was very thorough and gentle as well with the deep cleaning. Dr. Cho and Dr Kwan are both excellent Dentists, and all their Dental hygienist are friendly and gentle. Today I had Jen. She is beautiful and always fun to chat with... They never make you sit in the waiting room. The receptionists are friendly and help you get you in and out of your dentist's appointment and on your way in life... If you do have to sit in the waiting room any length of time, they have an awesome Keurig with teas, coffees or hot chocolate to choose from too! I came in to have a night guard made. One of the dentists put on gloves, turned on the light (the switch was not covered with the plastic wrap), adjusted her glasses (obviously not covered) and adjusted her chair (also not covered) before asking me to open my mouth. I very apologetically pointed out to her all the items she'd touched with her gloves and asked her to change her gloves before putting her hands in my mouth. She did, then proceeded to adjust her glasses again and told me "you need to open your mouth now." Um, no, I don't need to open my mouth as much as you need to go back to school and learn about how diseases get transmitted. The dentist said the night guard would be ready in 1 week. Front desk changed that to 1.5 weeks. 20 days later, no one had called me yet so I had to call them. Oh, yeah, your night guard came in sorry we forgot to call you. I don't really have time to babysit a dentist's office, nor do I want to catch a disease because of the shocking lack of attention to sanitation, so I won't be back. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Cho's at Parkview for about nine years. I can recommend Parkview without hesitation. Even though I have insurance for other dental offices, I actually choose to go to Parkview and pay cash, rather than use my Plan's dentists. That shows just how good this office is. (Parkview does take insurance, just not mine. Incidentally, Parkview does have a very good in-house plan, for those, like myself, who either don't use, or have insurance). The whole staff at Parkview have been friendly, kind, and understanding, and they contribute to a low-pressure, "non-rushed", but professional atmosphere, which I like. Jennifer, Gio, Nikki, Hannah, and Marissa are all top notch. I've had only limited contact with Dr. Kwan, but he seems to be just as capable as the rest of the staff. Additionally, I especially appreciate that I've experienced no "hard sell" here, unlike some facilities. That means a lot to me. Highly recommended. read more

I received a text message this morning at 8am confirming my appointment, but when I arrived at 9:40am (after sitting in traffic for 40 min) I was told that my appointment was cancelled because the hygienist was double booked. This is going to be a long review, so to summarize my experience: I was made very uncomfortable at this dentistry in addition to being told my retainer was ruining my teeth and that I had a bunch of cavities. I got a second opinion, and my retainer is actually fine, and 4 cavities they told me I needed filled are not even cavities. I came to Parkview for a cleaning because I could not commute to my previous dentistry. The first thing the dentist told me was that I needed my permanent retainer removed. I have seen FOUR different orthodontists over the past 8 years, and have never once heard it was a problem. I told him I would rather not remove it, and he told me that only children should have permanent retainers, and that I will be lazy about keeping it clean and end up with receding gums that will make me look like a hick. After repeating that I would rather just keep it clean than have it removed, he told me that I would be back asking him to remove it "pretty soon," anyway. He then showed me a spot on my x-ray and explained that it was a cavity. I said something like "shoot I've only had one cavity in my life, when I was a kid." He then laughed and said "well you have a lot more than one!" Not very professional, but okay. He went on to tell me I had 6 cavities and needed 6 fillings. I was a few days from losing my insurance, and I had not changed anything in regards to caring for my teeth, so I became a bit overwhelmed. I started tearing up, and he began laughing at me and continued to ask me questions, despite the fact that I clearly was trying to hold back my tears. I tried to nod yes or no but he would keep prying for me to talk. He then asked me if I am a "snacker," and when I responded "no," (I'm healthy and a small person by the way) he continued to lecture me on "snacking," for several minutes. He finally left, still giggling at me, and then another employee came in to go over the cost information. She was also laughing at the fact that I was crying. I tried to explain I was scared because I was losing my insurance and if this somehow happened again it would be very expensive, and she said it was fine because I still had a few days of insurance, not understanding my point at all. I finally got so frustrated with the giggling I had to say "it's not funny." I am a shy person that has never had to ask someone to stop laughing at me before. I decided I would rather drive the 2 hours to my former dentist for the fillings, after the uncomfortable experience I had at Parkview. I told the dentist about being told I needed to remove my permanent retainer, and about how my gums were starting to recede and would get worse. He told me there was no reason to remove it, and that my gums are perfectly healthy. He also confirmed that the claim that only children should have them in is completely false. The x-rays that Parkview emailed them were not clear enough for him to even draw any conclusions, so they re-did them for me. They showed me a comparison of both x-rays and theirs were very bright and clear, as opposed to the dark blurry ones they had been sent (which was confusing to me considering Parkview took about 40 minutes of x-rays, and my dentist did not understand why they took 2 different kinds of xrays, which was not only unnecessary, but somehow still not clear enough to draw conclusions from). He went on to thoroughly check my teeth by hand as well as in the x-rays, and let me know I had two cavities. Not six. That's four fillings less than what Parkview told me I "needed," and encouraged me to have filled the same day of my cleaning. The 4 other spots were incredibly small and completely reversible. They had not broken through and were not cavities. Essentially, they were spots I just need to make sure to floss better, and they will go back to normal. This is something the Parkview dentist probably knew, but chose to withhold from me. Perhaps disclosing that information and giving me the option to choose to be aggressive and fill them anyway would have been a good solution, rather than telling me they all absolutely need to be filled, and telling me they were all cavities. My advice to this dentistry, to prevent people from having bad experiences like I did is this: don't belittle your patient's emotions; laughing at someone who is upset is never a good solution, especially if they are clearly not amused by your laughter. Don't tell your patients they have one and only one option (like drilling into 4 teeth that don't even have cavities or telling them their retainer is for children and will ruin their teeth, just because you simply prefer removable retainers), when that's simply not true. To me, it seems as if they want to perform whatever procedures they can that will make them the most money. read more

After searching for 10 years for a dentist that I was comfortable with and trusted, I finally found the one. Dental hygienist, Jennifer was perhaps the best I have ever experienced. She was over -the-top kind, knowledgeable, and adjusted her process to meet my needs without me saying a word. The office staff is wonderful. Clean, organized, welcoming and professional. Everything is explained well in a very personal manner. I appreciated that they are up to date with their technologies, but they are not about creating a fake spa experience. I've been coming here for the last several years and always have had a positive experience. The hygienist Jennifer is honestly the reason I keep coming back she is so great at what she does! Dr. Cho is very friendly and knowledgeable, and I trust him completely with all my dental needs.
