I was told on the phone when making me appointment I could get a cleaning as well as exam. When i got there they said they didn't have a hygienist on Fridays. The Dr was rude and short with me and did not check my gums... he didn't do a thorough exam! I have concerns about my gums. He told me years ago that I needed $3500 in crowns. Over that time, I had 2 other dentists two me I didn't need crowns, that filings were sufficient. So, I had someone else do fillings. He seemed irritated when I told him this. He was dismissive and again, didn't do am exam. Why tell me I could get a cleaning if they knew they had no hygienist in that day. I gave them another shot... never again read more

Parkway Dental charged my wife full price for an extraction, despite our insurance. When we tried to file a claim with our insurance, we found that they had already paid Parkway, too. Parkway offered no explanation but simply performed the next extraction free. Now she needs a crown and Parkway refuses to do a crown that is covered by our insurance but want us to pay for a much more expensive crown in full out of our own pocket. We are changing dentists as we cannot trust or afford Parkway. read more

PLEASE!!! Verify everything with your insurance, they will want to overcharge you and make it sound legit. Trust me they are very kind but of course in the moment no one cares to check why prices are so high but speaking from experience please avoid the hassle of waiting until it's too late. Even though Dr. Lopez contracts with my dental insurance I was quoted prices far higher than my dental plan pays. I ask for a predetermination from my insurance company on the crowns to get the correct prices. Even though I made repeated request for a month the x-rays and chart notes required to make the determination by my insurance company we never sent. read more

Place is a complete scam. They will not do cleaning at time of exam so you have to come back AGAIN for a cleaning. Then they will tell you that you need a deep cleaning and charge you more than a regular insurance coverage will cover at 100%. I'm reporting them to my insurance carrier. Absolutely the worst dentist office I've ever been to. The doctor was rude wouldn't answer any questions. I went there with intense amount of pain and they refused to do anything. Horrible service given today by Dr.George Lopez! I brought my daughter in for a chipped tooth and he walks in tells me nothing but "do you want me to take the tooth out or not? Didn't explain anything, didn't even look at her tooth only the X-ray. As I begin to ask questions he tells me "l don't care if you want me to take the tooth out or not it will come out eventually!" After waiting nearly an hour to get my xrays, I was quoted neatly $500 to get my teeth cleaned, and that is with amazing insurance. The place us clean and the staff are professional but the wait is long and the price is too high for my taste. They do have state of the art equipment. read more

I really needed my wisdom teeth out, while other places were trying to book me out weeks or trying to charge me a fortune to book me as emergency, Sonia was able to fit me in next day. Her customer service surpassed all my expectations and I appreciate her kindness beyond words. My surgery went great, Dr. Ali and his wonderful team made sure to comfort me and hear out all of my concerns. I have never been one to like a dentist office but I will definitely be coming back. Dr. Lopez is amazing. He did my initial appointment and saw I was in pain and had me in to pull out my upper wisdom teeth that afternoon. I was not under sedation, so I saw and heard everything, but he was kind and made sure I didn't feel any pain. He was really quick, but listened to me. Definitely recommend. read more

This is the best dentist I've been in to!!!!! The staff was excellent!! The receptionist called and got everything covered!! New dentures on the bottom, new bridge up top, pulled two teeth!! But, first, he got to know me!! He asked about my hobbies, pets, etc!!! After the rudeness and being put in a chair and being completely ignored and having my mouth torn up by Western Dental, I thought I was in dental heaven!!!! Before this review, I was a long time happy patient of Parkway Dental, but after the pandemic when I decided to have my wife and children have their checkups and teeth clear. Anyway, after my wife had her checkup and was told that she needed a deep lacer cleaning, I was expecting maybe about $200 to have it done. When I was told about $400.00 for each side of her mouth, I was shocked because the last time the same cleaning was done on her a little over a year ago, I was charge about $200.00. Total cost would have been $800.00 total. I cancelled all our appointments and found another dentist. Before returning to this dental office, I was thinking of switching because I had another problem with one of the doctors who works at this office. Beware of the unprofessional,aggressive and condescending manager! My experience with the temporary crown when I got home and ate scrambled eggs is that it had chipped with in 2 hours! This has never happened to me. Upon returning I was annoyed to say the least that I had to go back because of the chipped temp... two days later the same spot on the temporary chipped again and this time I did not go back in. Today I got my permanent crown and I needed the managers assistance to straighten out my bill and she said I'm going be on the phone For a while and I said that's fine I'll wait. She did not want to deal with me at all. She proceeded to finish your phone call until somebody else came up to talk to her she immediately got off the phone. This is completely unacceptable professional behavior for a doctors office hence the yelp score for customer service. Dr. Alfonso is wonderful and has a very soft caring and warm personality. Terrible billing practices. Despite having an Explanation of Benefits from my insurance company stating I owe NOTHING, Parkway insists I owe them money. Several conversations with Parkway included inferring I was behind in payments despite their inaccurate billing systems and joggling between two billing systems that only one employee understands how to access, they struggle to confirm the dates of service for which they are billing. I am shocked by the number of one star comments. Next stop will be the California Insurance Commission to file a grievance for questionable billing practices as I have all the documentation needed. read more

I have given this office 3 solid try's, the only real one in this office is Letty. This last visit I went in due to my crown popping off ( trying to get this appt took 30mins. for anyone to answer the phone, They set me up with an appointment the following day) I thought simple solution, throw some new cement on the tooth & Im good to go, wrong Dr Lopez put my crown on then stepped out Jasmine scraped and flossed the excess. She asked how it felt and I told her my bite didn't feel right, she said bite down and I hear and feel a crunch, my crown cracked she steps out, comes back in and tells me I can make an appointment and come back if I want to address the now broken crown, WTF ...where is Dr Lopez? Why wouldn't he come back to address my now broken crown ? She proceeds to tell me it should be fine, what is wrong with these people, I come to this dentist to fix my tooth and they send me home with a broken crown and tell me it's fine!?! Dr Lopez lacks professionalism and does not care for his patient's. The two other times they screwed my appointments up, canceling and rescheduling us 3 different times for my family. Finally I clarified with I believe her name was Naomi for my daughter's appt. confirming the date. I had to juggle with her ortho to get her bars off to get a cleaning with this office. I get to parkway and they tell me she doesn't have an appointment ‍ this office is so unorganized, lacks passion for their job, and do not care about the patient's. These people are terrible! First off I had been taking my son there for dental work and they'd been charging hundreds of dollars more than they were supposed to per my insurance. When I brought this to the attention of the office manager she acted like she was pissed off. My husband was givin so much Novocain that his face was numb for 6 months. The final straw was when I took my little guy for a tooth ache we seen Mr.Lopez the same guy that over numbed my husband. This guy is a complete jerk. I have never been in the company of somebody who was being paid for a service that acted like such an ass. This guy acted like he did not need our business or want our business. Like he had something better to do and was in a hurry. He treated me like he knew me personally and did not like me. I had never met him before this. I was looking for a new dentist. Have had bad experiences in the past. So I went to a number of dentists to see if I could find one that would meet my needs. Either the dentist had no personality and was in a rush or the office staff really didn't care. That is until I went to Parkway Dental. Dr. Alfonso was great, he took the time to explain all my options and we were able to develop a plan that's right for me. Next came the part that I usually dread....dealing with the front office. Wow what a difference. Melanie, the Operations Manager was terrific. She worked with me to transfer my insurance, answer all my questions and schedule my appointments. She even left me for a few minutes to check on a very young patient that was in for some emergency work, now that's caring. I just wanted to give the staff at Parkway Dental Group a huge pat on the back. I have, well i should say had a big fear of the dentist but after this experience I feel much more at ease with dental work. All of the staff was so nice and helpful. They made sure i was comfortable and doing ok the whole visit (which was a few hours long due to the amount of work I needed done). The Dentist himself Dr Lopez was fantastic. He made me feel at ease and let me know as he was working on me what exactly he was doing and explained things in a way that was understandable to me. From the receptionist Tina and Bridget always greeting you with a smile and helpful when necessary, to Melanie the Manager that always explains treatments so clearly and try to work with my insurance fees. Awesome experience! I had never been to this office but when I called and explained that I had a broken tooth, I was told to come right in. Once I got there, the staff took over. So awful! I had a filling done and the doctor did a lousy job making it fit with my "bite". This caused me a lot of pain when eating. I went back and the doctor was trying to shape the filling, when he couldn't get it to work with my bite, HE FILED ON HEALTHY TEETH! Now I have pain from the awful filling and from a healthy tooth being filed on. Lame excuse for a doctor. And it was Lopez who did this. Dr Lopez really took the time to explain what was causing the issues with my teeth. My Hygienist Letty was very thorough and really educated me on dental health.
