You are not only painting your board, but also sanding and distressing the wood to your style and choosing your stain. Some of the crafts feature items besides wood too, like my mason jar craft. We heavily used stencils, so an artsy touch is not required, and the owners were great about helping us clean up some small mistakes too. In fact, the owners were so friendly and helpful, they really made the whole event fun and we learned a lot along the way. They are BYO, so you can also bring along a drink! You don't have to get too messy, but you do work with paint so I'd recommend clothes you don't mind getting dirty.

The workers gave great instruction on how to make sure the pottery comes out of the kiln nicely (three coats!). The color of your pot when you paint it will not be the same colors as after firing. I said I am seeking assistance with a product over here. "What is it?" I explained that it was an upholster tool that says that I need to get sales assistance. She said if you are looking for a sewing machine then you need to do ...I said, it isn't a sewing machine it is an upholstery tool that says to get she said again, if you want a sewing machine and I said, I do not need a sewing machine. If you could just come over here. She started yelling and I said, forget it I will go elsewhere. These three ladies were all employees. Brand new high end yarn shop finally arrives on the Main Line! Yay!…read more Main Line Purls opened up two weeks ago in Devon. It's tucked away in a mixed use building right by the Marriott Courtyard, half a block from the Whole Goods and, in the other direction, the Black Cat Cafe. FDC and I spotted their colorful, bright sign after breakfast at the cafe. The shop is bright, clean and open. The yarn is all high quality, hand dyed skeins in a beautiful variety of colors and weights. They have done fun notions and gorgeous handbags too. We were greeted warmly, and the staff were lovely, answering questions and making thoughtful suggestions. They will also wind a skein or two while you wait if they're not very busy, and you can leave purchased skeins there for winding & pick up later. They told us they are planning to have classes and a Thursday night "knot in". This is a high end shop, with skeins of hand dyed yarn, including their own private label line. Do not come here expecting $6 Lion Brand acrylic yarns. The prices reflect the high quality of their yarn. Small free private parking lot right by the store, and more free parking only a few steps farther away. We'll be back for sure.
