Parkway is a very welcoming and enjoyable dining experience! Most recently they have added to name one, the salmon burger. For me, this has been a huge success! All of their soups are delicious. My favorites are clam chowder, vegetable barley and lentil. Outstanding entrees include roast turkey platter with gravy that has been taste tested by staff and happens to be delicious. The loin pork chops are the healthy choice for pork. Occasionally a friend of the parkway family bakes a blueberry pie that is absolutely delicious! For example, when comes to fish just because it is on the menu doesn't automatically guarantee it is available. If staff shopping for the delicacy, is not satisfied with the quality they will not purchase it and therefore it will not be available despite being listed as part of the menu. This is the quality and dedication that you can depend on consistently from Parkway. I must almost mention that their oatmeal is totally delicious and worth selecting! Finally, you have to select the baked potato because there is no way you can produce the quality they serve, in your own kitchen at home. How I ended up in Dyker Height's is too long of a story to tell on Yelp, but I wanted stamp my presence w/ my review. I gave this diner a 3 stars because the service was really good, the triple decker club sandwich tasted delicious, and the ambiance gave me a vintage classic feel to it - which I happen to like (lots of seniors at this joint)! But I wouldn't give it more stars because they don't have vegan milks (just half and half and 2% cows milk) for my coffee and no wifi. This doesn't mean it's a bad restaurant, but for me it doesn't make 5 stars because they limited their customers although I understand that their market probably doesn't care for dairy alternatives like younger people would. Also, they don't have many vegan options and I doubt anything is organic. read more

SUCH A GEM! Me and my wife been coming here for over 20 years. The food is phenomenal we always go for breakfast. Wait staff is perfect they work so hard pay attention to every detail. Just your average Greek diner to me. Nothing special really overall. The food was decent, but service seemed lax; no one refilled my water or even bothered to ask how it all was. I live on the Avenue and ordered for delivery. I ordered: 1 BEC, 1 EC, French fries, and an order of home fries. Somehow it came out to $28. If anybody knows diners you already know that's a ridiculous overcharge off the rip. "Oh it's in Dyker.." I don't care. You can't charge people so much, we're still in a global pandemic. $6.75 here for French fries AND home fries. Also a gross price for sides that are $5 and below anywhere else. Even Bay Ridge. Then on top of it our order of french fries was not filled up, which the old woman who claimed to be the owner admitted to. I want to clarify the man who took our order originally was kind and good at articulating himself. When we called back, this old b i t c h answered. And proceeded to make herself look stupid before we even got there. She couldn't form proper sentences, kept stumbling on her words, and caught an attitude with the first comment I made about a $30 BREAKFAST order. We went in and got our money back thankfully. But this old asshole thinks telling us to never call again does anything for us? This was the first (and not even) and absolutely the last time I ever consider ordering anything from there. Maybe if you're a rich geriatric from Dyker you'd like it here. Other than that I recommend BAGELICIOUS across the street. We literally went right across, ordered the SAME EXACT order, and got drinks with it this time. ONLY CHARGED $20. Like I said don't go to "Parkway". This used to be the go-to spot for breakfast and lunch, but the quality has declined. You can come here for standard breakfast fare which is pretty good but the prices have gone up. My last experience here was extremely disappointing. I ordered basic chicken tenders and fries only to find that the chicken was still raw in the middle. Pancakes, oatmeal, meatloaf, salmon burger and yes, even the french fries. I have eaten with people at Parkway who have said to me the fries are clear. That is not burnt and/or not dark. I have eaten the fries without leaving any. The salmon burger is a healthy choice and delicious. Have not found this item on any other menu. No one can touch Parkway's oatmeal. I have covered the food. Now to the staff. A wonderful family who welcomes everyone. They are friendly and from my experience cover the entire service package to ensure customer satisfaction whether it is in-house or ordered over the phone. Also from my experience the few to complain are from that sector of people that pretty much are hard to satisfy in most given areas. Unfortunately they exist in society. Lastly another desirable aspect. Staff has told me if they go to a market and do not like the quality that is being offered, they will not accept it. I liked this diner until this morning. The burgers are great, fries are good but unfortunately the staff is rude and I refuse to spend my money in a place that the staff replies with "uh ugh no" to asking if the oj can be strained. When I asked if they have a strainer he goes "no, we don't do that here" when I informed him I placed an order last week and it was strained he says "idk who did that, we don't do that". Sorry, that's bs. And the "uh ugh no" completely unprofessional and beyond rude. I canceled the entire order and do not plan on eating from this diner again. Sucks bc they had potential. First of all, I always thought this place was called "New Parkway." Secondly, it's really a very decent diner on 13th Avenue in an area where there aren't very many similar establishments. It can get crowded on weekends, but you usually get a seat rather quickly, and I think that it's kind of a neighborhood favorite since you always see a lot of older people in here having a meal. The menu consists of very standard diner fare, but the prices are good and the portions are generous - I am a big fan of their breakfast stuff which is served all day. There is even a counter where you can sit and eat if you want a "real" diner experience. Overall, I think this place is consistently good and their friendly and endearing wait staff make it a fun place to get a meal. read more

Meh, was not impressed at all. Service was good, though. I usually go to Jimmy's down the street but I wanted to give this place a chance. The menu wasn't as extensive as most diner menus, but it was okay. I started with the Manhattan Clam Chowder (cup). I didn't taste any clams....it tasted like canned soup. I didn't finish it. Then I ordered coffee - diner coffee, They were good at refilling it. For my entree I got fish and chips. My mistake. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't impressive. You can tell the fish is just frozen fish sticks....it tasted like really cheap fish. Fries are fries. $10 My boyfriend got the beef tenderloin sandwich. $15............why is this $15? I don't know. It was white bread with beef on top, a little coleslaw and some fries. The meat was ok (I had a bite). We also got a slice of cheesecake. The cheesecake was good! I didn't like the crust, though. Eh is how I would rate this place. I'll admit food quality is pretty good. The breakfast foods are decent, the lunch items are probably the best on the menu. I recommend the club sandwiches and the burgers. The prices, however, are pretty outrageous. You pay an extra $4 for fries or onion rings with your burger and I kid you not they literally give you only about 6 onion rings. I wouldn't mind the prices so much except the service is subpar. The waiters are good, but the owners are slightly rude and unaccommodating. God forbid they comped an item when they made a mistake or it came out terrible. Jimmy's Place, a few blocks away is probably a better option... or Pegasus in Bay Ridge which definitely matches Parkway when it comes to more expensively priced diners. read more

I like this diner. It's right around the corner from my home, the waiters are very friendly and accommodating and the food is good. A little overpriced, but it makes up for getting in the car or taking the bus to other diners in Bay Ridge or Bensonhurst. The only complaint I have is the seats in the booths. They are old, bumpy and uncomfortable and every time I go there, I wake up the next day with a serious backache. I've told the waiters about it, hoping it would get back to the owners, but they just shrug their shoulders. So, unfortunately, I won't be visiting this diner anymore. Am tired of waking up with back pain. But, whoever has a good strong back, eat at this restaurant. I'm sure you will like it. read more

Parkway resturant has good food and service. The only reason I didn't rate it higher is because of the prices. Some prices are very high for items that shouldn't be that pricey. The resturant is pretty clean inside and has fast delivery. I highly recommend the cream of turkey soup! I will be back! read more

I only have ever come here for breakfast on weekends but each time the service has been great and the food is cooked exactly how I order it. This is normally frequented by the local senior citizens but that doesn't deter me from coming here. I usually order one of the omelets with whole wheat toast. The waiter brings water right away and always asks if we want coffee. The coffee is fresh too. Nothing really special about this place but its a great neighborhood place for some decent Diner food. Decided to go to this diner one day since I live down the block from it. It's your average diner. The pancakes though were great. The only thing about it was the service. We stepped in and no one greeted or acknowledged us until we made eye contact with one of the waiters. We sat ourselves down after he tilted his head toward an open booth. We were handed our menus right away but it took him a while to come back to take our orders. It was a Sunday and there seem to be only 3 people working. This diner is somewhat a second choice to me in my neighborhood, as a diner called Jimmy's Place comes in as my first choice. Unfortunately, for me Jimmy's Place is on vacation this week, which prompted me to order my breakfast from Parkway this morning. I already know to expect higher prices/smaller portions when ordering from here, which already deducts a star or 2 for most people. However, I've spent more for less in other areas so I'm not one to really complain about that. When ordering my food, probably the most simplest thing you can order.. I said I would like a bagel with cream cheese. I did express "please do not put too much cream cheese on my bagel (I know most other places aside from corner delis literally put a solid stack of cream cheese on each half, yuck!!) I just need a normal spread of cream cheese on my bagel please", she replied "no problem just a normal amount". Cut to my order coming, the delivery guy was down the block when my building clearly states the address on the door. I open up the aluminum foil to find my bagel has a THICK stack of cream cheese on each half of the bagel. No utensils were provided for my families breakfast platters, French fries were unbelievable soft and soggy, and the apple juice we ordered seemed to be leaking through the brown paper bags. ABSOLUTE FAIL! I would say about 70% of the cream cheese on my bagel ended up in the garbage. Sure, my views on how I like my bagel may not be the views of others... However, if you're in the Dyker Heights area, you're better off ordering from Jimmy's Place. You'll save money in the process. read more

I will never return to this diner style restaurant and here is my main reason why. The food is just ok, but we went on a busy Saturday for some breakfast and we were told that they ran out of home fries. Can you believe a breakfast place would run out of potatoes? Ok so that is ok, but the only thing they would substitute was for french fries, why couldn't we have something else besides fries? Anything else, but nope, oh and I almost forgot, they didn't tell us they ran out of homefries until we got our food and so french fries on the plate. Awful awful coffee- just terrible. Poor service but surprisingly good wraps. I had the chicken florentine wrap and while it was a little greasy, it was really really good. My friend had the balsamic chicken wrap and she liked it. The French fries were bad though, cold and kinda wilted. I don't think the wraps were enough to bring us back to Brooklyn though. I've lived around the corner from this place my whole life, but I have only came here to eat a couple times. I have to say, I was happy with the prices of breakfast. They weren't over inflated, and worked with my budget. The breakfast I ordered was great, two sunny side eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast, orange juice and coffee for like $6. I was very ok with that.
