How I ended up in Dyker Height's is too long of a story to tell on Yelp, but I wanted stamp my presence w/ my review. I gave this diner a 3 stars because the service was really good, the triple decker club sandwich tasted delicious, and the ambiance gave me a vintage classic feel to it - which I happen to like (lots of seniors at this joint)! But I wouldn't give it more stars because they don't have vegan milks (just half and half and 2% cows milk) for my coffee and no wifi. This doesn't mean it's a bad restaurant, but for me it doesn't make 5 stars because they limited their customers although I understand that their market probably doesn't care for dairy alternatives like younger people would. Also, they don't have many vegan options and I doubt anything is organic.

I feel like I am with my Italian friends and family in Corona,NY. There is nothing but love in all three restaurants. They have everything covered. The staff are a beautiful group of "International", young people. The tastes of the food and the creativity, blew my mind. The Crab Cakes are the best I have ever had! Food wise, Bayridge rivals Manhattan. The female staff made me fall in love! They make this old man feel special. Drinks are awesome and inventive.

The fried calamari could've been less oily, as this took away from the crunch; also slightly overcooked. Baked clams were decent. Salmon was cooked to perfection. Pizza was great! They reheated for us, since our group was too busy chatting. Desserts - phenomenal! Drinks- ehh. Brunch menu - French toast was decent. The salmon over hash brown , was lacking a touch of something , couldn't pinpoint what was lacking. Chicken and waffles, decent, wasn't the best I've had. Service- jonathan was our waiter during brunch and also our bartender. He's GREAT! During service dinner, we had a female waitress and I felt she lacked attention to details and couldn't flag her down when we wanted something. Overall, service is a hit or miss , I guess? If you're looking for an intimate dinner, nope. Love their vibes and music playing in the background. You might need to "shout"'to hear

Most of the bars around here are either Mexican spots with a bar or loud sports bars, so this place felt like a nice change. They've got little sofas along the wall, and the whole vibe feels more like a living room than a bar. Happy hour was solid, and the locals/regulars I met swore this place has the best burger in the hood. A couple even said they come here for food when they're too lazy to cook. Everyone was super friendly and easy to chat with, which gave it that cozy neighborhood bar feel. Megan, the bartender, definitely wasn't shy with the pours. The Brooklyn Cosmo was huge as well if you like feeling like you got your bang for your buck. For sure a spot I'd come back to.

Bay Ridge continues its steep decline in the food scene with this cheesesteak wannabe restaurant…read more I have been to Philadelphia and had my fair share of cheesesteaks there. Some really good, some not so good, most somewhere in between. This one falls closer to the second option, and not just because this cash only joint (boo...) charges $13 for one, and it is pretty small. For an extra $9, you get fries and a drink. I took the deal, not realizing the fries are your traditional "bowling alley fries". I took one bite and threw the rest away. $9 extra wasted away. As for the steak itself, it is quite hit or miss. They also try to jazz it up to the point where it can be completely unrecognizable if you wish. No thanks. A good steak is just ribeye steak and a choice of three cheeses, Cheez Whiz, White American, or Provolone. Stop the nonsense with Yellow American. Also, the roll should be strictly Amoroso. I did not see that here. I already deduct two stars for lack of authenticity. The final star deduction comes in the form of an inconsistent steak. Throughout the experience, I was getting different bites each time I took a bite. Some bites were really good, others were flat. The steak is also cooked with far too much salt for my liking. I also felt the customer service was flat too. There was no knowledge of the menu items except for the sesame roll. The roll is also too chewy for this kind of sandwich. They also serve pizza, but it does not make any sense to me why. Honestly, it did not look good in the display case when I saw it. I am taking it off my favorites and will not be returning. Not every cheesesteak has to be a John's Roast Pork or a Tony Luke's, but a little more effort could put this little hole in the wall joint in Bay Ridge closer to them.

When I brought it to the waitresses attention she said it comes with either bacon or sausage and I was like, okay you didn't ask so I wasn't aware. To which she responded that it was on the menu and proceeded to bring over the menu for me to read as if I couldn't understand her. I was really tired that morning so I guess that parts on me for just reading what I want and ordering it, but as someone who's work in the service industry you also clarify what the customer would like. I never said I wanted ONLY eggs. Just the way she handled it was really rude when I didn't even make a fuss I was just confused why there was nothing in my burrito weird energy here if you're not a white townie. Glad my father got to enjoy his corned beef hash though. Only positive in this experience.

Came in as a party of two on a rainy Sunday for their brunch menu and was quickly seated and served. Waiters/waitresses were very attentive and quick to give us menus, waters, take our orders, and clear our empty plates when we finished the app/food. Definitely has a pub/sports bar vibe with bar seating and multiple screens broadcasting pretty much all the sunday NFL games. But they also had ample seating for larger parties and families and it definitely seems like a place that locals visit often. The food was great, though we wouldve liked to try the chicken empanadas if we noticed it on the menu early. Oh wells, maybe next time!

We ordered the chicken liver mousse, crispy potato tart, and burger. The chicken liver mousse is a must order and something I get every time I come here, whether it is this location or the Park Slope one. The mousse itself is rich, creamy, savory, and packed with umami. I just wish it came with something better on the side. The pita was a little underwhelming and was not warmed all the way through. The crispy potato tart was excellent. The potato was super crispy, and a bite with the salmon, egg, sour cream, and potato together was perfect. The lightly dressed arugula helped cut through the richness and made for a nice palate cleanser. The burger looked pretty simple when it arrived, but it ended up being surprisingly good. The patty was juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Overall, a great neighborhood spot and one I would happily come back to.
