    a plate of food

Love coming here. It's the perfect local diner to go too. The owner is so kind. They make good classic diner food!

onion rings in a styrofoam container

Went there to dine in today. Order all the time. Asked for onion rings instead of French fries with my burger. They brought French fries. Waited like 10 minutes for a waitress to come back over. Diner was not busy at all they were all on there cell phones. Started to eat my burger cause I was starving. Finally a waitress came over explained the situation and she said she needed to take back the fries to not charge me for them. Literally took the plate out from under me as I held the burger. Then threw the plate of French fries in the garbage right next to me. So rude I will never go there again. Then they bring me onion rings that are so burnt my dog won't even eat them.

    DIY omelette

Ordered delivery via grub hub. Apparently no one felt like making my omelette so they slapped a few strips of bacon on an omelette with more egg whites than anything else. If I wanted to make my own omelette and sat here chopping up bacon, I wouldn't have ordered. Threw it in the garbage. Waste of my time and money. My sister in law just opened up her food after being out shoveling to find that her sausage egg and cheese on a bialy was a platter with link sausage. Absolutely disgusting. Why support local if they don't even know what they're doing.

Came to this emptied diner on a week night. Nothing to rave about, the table booths and chairs are old and filled with holes. Menu selections was pretty extensive from the regular breakfast combos to wraps, paninis, and burgers. Ordered a Chicken Quesadilla and a Grilled Steak sandwich both comes with soup or salad. Food tastes mediocre can't remember anything special about it. Waitress walked by once to the table to give me some napkins. Price is average for diner fare.

Greek omelette, the freshest home-fries in the neighborhood & canadian bacon!!! My favorite

Jimmy's is one of the few great, last standing diners/restaurants in the area. Great portions, reasonably priced & super friendly staff. Awesome food, even more so their breakfasts - I am a big home-fries lover and their home-fries are the best in the neighborhood. Classic, delicious, finger-licking diner food. Long time family owned and operated with love!

I've been a "Jimmys" customer since he ran the old Bensonhurst Donut Shop on the corner. He is often here atbthe counter. The waitresses are grrat. Fave dishes: GYRO! Lumberjack with Challah french toast Any Omelette And his Jimmys Burger.

I like this diner as it had few "healthier" options than other diners I've been to. Would come back for lunch again.

Chicken sandwich (deluxe). Chicken was burnt :(

This place is an average diner. I've been here twice. The waitress is very nice. The first time I went, I got the grilled chicken sandwich: it was average and the chicken was burnt. It took a while for us to get our food. Overall, it was an okay meal. A 2-3 star experience. For dessert, I split a piece of cheesecake with my boyfriend and it was amazing. Diner cheesecake is always the best. Today I went to get a lox & cream cheese bagel. I was very surprised. It was about $9 and came with lettuce, tomato, onion, cream cheese and A LOT of lox...A lot more than I have seen on other bagels. I couldn't eat it as a sandwich because there was so much! Definitely not complaining, though. The bagel was amazing and I will be back for another one!

Im very picky with diners but this one is always amazing everytime i come here. The food always taste great ! Great staff!

Ya never know. This used to be part of the charm, but now it's a liability because friends (and other chefs in the neighborhood) never want to go to Diner because...ya never know what it'll be. Diner has never coasted on continuity. They change up the menu every day. They write it on the paper tablecloth, for Chrissakes. But I still love that! I still find most of the food to be delicious (if pricey), I still think their cocktails are well-made (even if their bar is weirdly slow) and I love their brunch and I love the vibe, and I'm glad it's still here. Doesnt even save paper since those menus are not reused. And honestly, our waiter's handwriting was sometimes hard to read. Also, quite pricey. The crab pasta was $35, the celery root was also $35 (like what?!), the squash was $23, and the Caesar salad (not pictured) was $22. Service was friendly and knowledgeable on the food but slow.

But if you're looking for some excellent, straight forward, wonderfully crafted simplicity, this is in your wheelhouse. A quesadilla is a quesadilla, a hamburger a hamburger. Sounds boring? Not when your hamburger and quesadilla are amongst the best you've ever had at any diner, anywhere. Our waitress was very nice and allowed us to dine, unbothered. We ordered a fresh fruit platter for dessert. It included watermelon, mango, grapes, apples, strawberries, etc. very nice, well presented. The dining area certainly belies what happens in that kitchen behind the door. I'll be back to try some more simple, but excellent food.

This spot has a handful of tables and while we were there, quite a few to-go orders were picked up as well. Though we were the only diners, so I assume it's more of a breakfast/brunch spot. The menu is rather expansive with options from breakfast to lunch and dinner. After studying the menu, we opted for the Veggie Burger and the Meatball Parm Po'Boy. Our food was ready in about 20 minutes, which seemed a little long as we were the only diners, but we were not in a rush so it was fine. As the restaurant was unassuming, I honestly had pretty low expectations, but we both really enjoyed our meals. It was definitely large portions and really flavorful. My fiance said the Meatball Parm Po'Boy was delicious and I appreciated that the veggie burger seemed to be made in house as it was falling apart (in a good way) and you could distinguish some of the veggies. I ended up only eating about half of my burger and took the rest for lunch the next day and it held up well.

I did like their take on a traditional pancake. The breakfast sandwich was good, but it didn't blow me away considering the price And the high bar for breakfast sandwiches in the city. While they have all the traditional breakfast fare, I was so happy to see it also had a Caribbean twist to it. I couldn't help myself--I had to order rice and beans with pernil (pork shoulder) and a side of sweet plantains. Of course, I wanted some actual breakfast items, so we got the French toast loaded with fruit. We also got both the tres and quatro golpes, which is a traditional Dominican breakfast. Lastly, we got a Caribbean omelet. My rice and pernil was solid. The rice could've used a tad bit more seasoning but when mixed with the side of beans and plantains plus a drizzle of hot sauce it was perfect. They had a variety of sauces--Tabasco (my fave), a Jamaican one that was super spicy, and a mild homemade one. The tres/quatro golpes was also a hearty choice with mangu (mashed plantain), sausage, fried cheese, and eggs. The pickled red onion balanced everything out. The fried cheese is similar to a halloumi but I think it's a bit more flavorful. All the flavors just melt together in your mouth perfectly. The French toast and omelet were good. I'd say the Caribbean items stole the show though. The place has a typical diner vibe and is on the small side. Food was served quickly and service was good. Discount if you pay in cash. I was lured by the chicken Kyiv based on the picture of having two rolled up chicken cutlets stuffed with dill and other yumminess, but was a bit disappointment when it arrived with a single small cutlet on my plate with two heaping mounds of potatoes mash and broccoli. I instantly had regret when I should have gotten the borscht soup with pierogies, but wanted to try something I wouldn't usually. I should've stuck to what was safe. My work mom got the stuffed cabbage and that was a clear homerun- really loved the mushroom gravy that it came with.
