Apple Cider Cupcake
Dana S.

I wasn't sure about this place when I first heard of it because the main menu has a lot of "fast food" type dishes which isn't usually my thing, but I had a friend that raved about it and convinced me that it was worth it, so I tried it with her and another friend and actually really enjoyed it. I did not go for the "fast food" but instead for one of the specials, masala meatloaf. The meatloaf itself was really flavourful and had a satisfying texture, and it was served with a delicious mushroom gravy over mashed potatoes with two mini (very cute) "buttermilk" biscuits. Everything tasted great, but it was also a nicely presented and well-thought out dish. Filling portion but not too much. My friends ordered the buffalo mac and cheese and the Korean club, and those looked really good, so I would definitely be interested in trying those if I get the chance to go back. I had an apple cider cupcake for dessert, which was also great - moist with good cider flavour. The atmosphere was also a big part of the good experience we had. The vibe is cozy with candles on the tables and lots of fake plants. The waitress was really nice and the food was pretty quick.

We picked Parlor City Vegan as our lunch pit stop in Binghamton. The place is fresh, new and clean. Staff is friendly and polite; and service is quick. As for the food, we selected all heavy fried, cheese heavy options. Just a work of caution before placing your order, you might want to balance your meal. Our dishes were tasty and portions were generous. We had: 1. Fried Mac & Cheese Balls - 5/5 - the best and perfectly cooked, we really enjoyed this one 2. Cream Cheese Stuffed Garlic Bread - 4/5 - reminded me of garlic bagel 3. Skeptical goes to Buffalo - 4/5 - interesting take on Mac and cheese 4. Spicy Hen - 3/5 - was too heavy 5. Korean Club - 5/5 - really enjoyable Overall we are enjoyed our experience and would recommend this place for a vegan American experience!

I've been dying to try this place since I always see delicious dishes pop up on my Instagram feed....however, I don't want to drive all the way to Binghamton. Luckily, they were at the recent vegan fest in Syracuse so I got a taste finally. My friend and I split a jalapeno popper grilled cheese. Firstly, the sandwich was massive and definitely shareable. The bread was banging- so high quality, I think homemade? It was thick and not soggy. The "cheese" had the consistency of whipped cream cheese, very fluffy. Those peppers packed a kick- this baby was spicy! Absolutely delicious though. Given how good it was, I might have to make a hike to the restaurant, or at least make a detour next time I'm driving past the area!

Beautiful decor, welcoming hospitality and nothing but vegan food served here. I was very surprised at the ever changing menu. I tried the Mac & Cheese (cheese made from cashews) and was delighted at the tasty flavor. I also had a cup of fresh brewed coffee which was delicious to my taste because I am so picky about coffee. Parlor City is a place you can go to meet with friends over a sweet accompanied by tea or coffee or have yourself and friends some delicious homemade vegan lunch. Parlor City welcomes the sun and clouds has it's nearly surrounded by large windows. Plenty room to move about and not stuffy. I recommend Parlor City whether you are vegetarian, vegan or just thinking about switching to a plant based lifestyle.

Parlor City is a bright gem in a town where vegan options are few and far between. We discovered this fully plant-based eatery the day we brought our daughter to campus, and have ordered every time we visited. As SUNY Binghamton's food service was downgraded because of pandemic restrictions, my daughter would often order delivery for a delicious and fulfilling Saturday dinner. The biggest problem with Parlor City is choosing just one item from among all of there enticing, comfort foods. It's tempting to want to try one of everything. The portions are huge. The sandwiches come with a choice of fries or greens, but you can upgrade to mac-n-cheese, or order the latter as an extra side. The cream cheese stuffed garlic bread is a meal in itself, but can be shared with one or two others. The spicy hen (breaded oyster mushroom) sandwich is mountainous. The reuben is extraordinary. You'll also find a selection of baked goods and fresh juices and kombucha. Great for brunch, lunch and dinner.

Just wanted to update and say it is still amazing, and constantly getting better. I've ordered for pickup several times while stuck at home and it never disappoints! Certain portions of their specialty burgers (such as the mushroom Cordon Bleu) are huge to where I had leftovers! I also really appreciate that they started offering GF buns because their GF options were previously limited. I asked them about it on Instagram a few months ago so I'm happy to see that they seem to listen to customer feedback! For those who are particularly environmentally conscious, they use compostable coffee cups and cardboard takeout boxes. So when you order here, you can be sure that it will be significantly less plastic waste than any other place in town! Highly recommend. Consistently good food and friendly service. Can't wait until after COVID where I could enjoy eating in at their lovely establishment.

Best vegan cupcakes I've ever had. Most are dense and heavy but the caramel latte cupcake was heavenly. Perfect! The Cabin Burger was delicious I loved the beets and apples in it. While they aren't open for indoor dining yet I went in to pickup my order and the decor is gorgeous. I can't wait to dine in on my next visit to my hometown. Thanks y'all!

Big Maxine with a side of Mac n Cheese from to go menu

Ordered pick up from web menu a friend shared: https://parlor-city-vegan.square.site/ We ordered a Big Maxine ( think vegan big mac) and a side of truffle mac n cheese. The "burger" had 2 patties with sauce , u know the rest. It was awesome, I am no vegan but loved this big sandwich. The Mac cheese was also wonderful, I can't fathom how this is done vegan, it is smooth and has excellent depth of flavor. We also got a Maple Dipper, it came with brunch potatoes, the egg mix in the crisp panini sandwich was fluffy and wonderfully seasoned, the potatoes also had a nice crunch and were great. Also got a Skeptical Vegan, mac n cheese w scallions and their barbecue sauce .... another home run! Looking forward to our next time! Looked nice, next time we hope this damn Covid thing is over so we can go in and have a seat! It was ready when we were told it would be, and brought out to our car(they had asked for our car type when we called)

I absolutely loved this place. It's like American food for vegans, so we got fries, burgers, etc. all vegan. The ambience is also very nice, looks very clean and the staff is kind. I got the maxine burger (I think), no regrets. They also had some nice hot teas. Great place to go with a friend and have a conversation.

Garlic bread

Very cute planty interior. We got a table right away but shortly after it filled up and there was a wait. Garlic bread was an excellent appetizer- loved the cream cheese. The crab cakes were a special but had the perfect texture of non-vegan crab cakes. Still cupcakes and donuts in the case at 6pm for a later snack!

I've been enjoying Parlor City Vegan's sandwiches at the farmer's market for some time, so I was excited to stop by their cafe on Clinton Street -- and it did not disappoint! The space itself is beautiful with high ceilings, charming tile, and big windows. And the food is just what I've come to expect: delicious plant-based comfort food. My kiddo and I split the tuna melt (made with chickpeas) and the Prestonian (plant-based ham and cheese with caramelized onions and apple), and got a Big Maxine with loaded fries to go. All were super yummy! I particularly liked the dressed organic greens that came with two of the dishes. I'm so glad Binghamton has a plant-based cafe. I'll be back again soon.

Searching for a local spot in Binghamton, I stumbled upon the Lost Dog Cafe on the Internet. The…read morereviews boasted quality food in an eccentric atmosphere. This lovely lounge did not disappoint. When I walked through the old doors, I entered a unique atmosphere with a mix of old timey and retro punk vibes. Since I was on my own, I asked for a table for one, fully aware that my heart was set on a bar stool. The bar spot turned out to be perfect for people-watching and a Yuzo Peach Collins. Served in the perfect glass, the Collins was definitely a balance of flavors. Since the vodka rigatoni is what peaked my curiosity, that is what I ordered. It was phenomenal. I decided to go with the "old-school" version at the encouragement of my server, which included Cayenne pepper. It came out perfectly spiced and piping hot. I also decided to start with a Caesar salad. The lettuce was super cold and crisp, and the dressing was served on the side so I could moderate it for myself. Log Dog Cafe is just what the doctor ordered after long day of touring campus. If you want an authentic experience with a positive vibe, pop in the check it out!

We came towards the end of the lunch rush (1-2PM?) and were seated immediately. The ambiance is hip and buzzy, with lots of colorful decor. The menu had some very tempting options, even for vegetarians. We started with the buffalo brussel sprouts, a stroke of genius. I'd never thought about dousing this tasty veggie in hot sauce and blue cheese, but it makes sense. This was a very tasty app, and the sprouts were roasted perfectly with crispy outer skins which provided the crunch needed for a good buffalo dish. The special that day was some kind of french dip sandwich which one of my dining companions got. Another one got a cajun catfish sandwich and graciously offered me a bite. It was flavorful. For my main, I got the spring roll bowl and decided to add tofu. It had noodles, peanuts, a sweet thai chili sauce, and lots of veggies. It was MASSIVE. Prices are a little high but the portions definitely made it worth it. I could have taken half home as leftovers if I'd wanted. The restaurant also has a coffee bar which we decided last minute to partake in instead of venturing out into the rain to find a different cafe. This was such a convenient option because we didn't have to fight to find parking or brave the weather to go to a second location. I did a pistachio latte. Someone else at my table got a Mexican hot chocolate. I treated myself to the homemade whipped cream. The coffee hit the spot. Throughout the whole experience the staff was wonderful. Our food came out quickly, and the servers were very friendly and joking with us. I'd come back if I was in the area.

It was quiet when we arrived, but more customers were streaming in by the time we left, many of whom seemed to be regulars and have a good relationship with the staff. Our waitress and the other staff were all really sweet. Besides their food menu, which caters to a variety of tastes and diets, they also have a cocktail menu, and extensive wine and tea menus. I really like that they can do lattes made to order (hot or iced, sweet or unsweetened) with any of the teas they offer - I got a tea latte with the Chocolate Cream Truffles tea. It was very pretty to look at (topped with foam and dusted with cocoa powder) and also tasted nice and smooth. My Tempeh Reuben and side of Kale Slaw were so good! All the individual components of the sandwich were tasty and together they were perfectly balanced. I was just so excited to see this on the menu because I love the Swiss cheese/kraut/sauce combination of the traditional Reuben but can't have the meat, so I was very happy to be able to enjoy it with tempeh. I had a taste of my dad's vegetarian chili too. It was very tasty and a little sweeter than most chilis which was interesting. I had a vegan chocolate cupcake for dessert. This was less "interesting" than the rest of the food I got but still good. The shredded coconut on top was a nice touch. Definitely a place I'd visit again! They also have dinner specials and occasional special brunches which I'd love to check out sometime.

I like this place. Lots of vegan options. Good coffee. Cute vibe. Friendly service. Affordable.read more
