I see this place received many mixed reviews, so Ill just share my experience. A friend and I dropped in for lunch and did not have long till we had to return to a conference. I felt the teriyaki grilled steak I ordered was just what I wanted with great flavor and price. My friend had a Sushi plate and there was a lot of food and taste for the price. Food came pretty fast considering they were really busy. Atmosphere, well....defintely had the kind of vibe where I would have enjoyed it more with a glass or two of wine, but couldn't since I was working. I liked the place over all and would consider returning again.

Two lip marks on the glass rim!

I was seriously disappointed and disgusted while dinning here! The whole place looks like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks with grease marks everywhere. My water glass came with two lip marks on the rim:(.......how gross. And for how expensive this place is, I would expect it to be a much cleaner and mindful environment!

We've been coming here for years and it's been one of our favorite spots. Tonight we had the worst meal here and it was very disappointing. There was a hair in my rice and my wife's Caesar Salad was watered down. Service is always good and the servers do a great job

Valentines take out. Salmon, maguro, crunchy tiger & spicy scallop hand roll

I had previously done a review on the Shiki Shushi page about a year ago, since that location comes up as Medford, I wanted to make sure there was no confusion that we had gone to the Grants Pass G Street restaurant. We decided to order takeout for Valentine's Day & weren't disappointed. We ordered salmon sashimi, spicy scallop hand rolls, unagi, maguro & a crunchy tiger roll. Everything was delicious & we will be ordering take out until covid restrictions are lifted & we are able to have a dine in experience.

Drinks and food were great! Food came out quickly and staff was very polite. Will frequent here again.

Went to enjoy some Sushi and edamame. When we received our edamame it came with a side of cockroach. Let the server know and left.

Sometimes this place is great other times it is weak and slow. All depends on how into work the staff are.

Been eating at this restaurant for the past 4 years. Today was my last. A baby roach crawled out of my calamari today. Never again.

5 stars decor, vibe and music 4 stars for steam distillery…read moretasty drinks 3 stars for super slow service and 3 stars food from That One Place. Have been to Steam Distillery now on multiple occasions since they opened and continue to hope that service time will improve. The Lemongrass Collins is my absolute favorite cocktail on their menu, its just unfortunate that the service is extremely slow. There is typically only 1 or 2 employees handling the entire space and since the drinks are all crafted, between waiting to get your order taken and then waiting for the drinks to arrive, you're looking at 15 to 20 minutes. For the first time of these visits, we made reservations for the now reservation only Sunday menu. Reservation was at 4 and you had to place your order at the time of making your reservation days ahead. We didnt get our meals until 445. While the menu and presentation were amazing, the taste was not there. Lobster was very overcooked and lacked flavor in the seasoning, prime rib cut was impressive at 16oz but was cooked perfect and thankfully was served with some type of horseradish cream. The potatoes were stated as being a mashed potatoe type but we're not a mash in my opinion at all. It was a half super chunky scoop with the sour cream and butter kind of hidden in the middle.

My wife had come across some chat and pics from the resident restaurant here "That One Place" and…read moreso we searched it out- actually our first visit was last week right after we left the gym...lol, just wanted to take a peek inside, but the atmosphere and people were so inviting, we took a table for a quick bite. The food (my brisket taco) and my wife's shrimp tacos, were just incredibly delicious AND good-sized. I've had Brisket in Texas and in Tennessee, and this brisket was seriously the best of them all that I've had before. We'd been looking for just the right spot to have a 30th wedding anniversary dinner. One local place (by the river) has great food but can't seem to get a ribeye right. The other with a NewYork motif, served me a hideous ribeye a few months ago...so we wanted something else. KING on food, and ambiance secondary. Don't let Steam Distillery fool you- the causal steampunk- meets-British Pub vibe is not a ragged presentation, but a carefully crafted and executed place to sit and relax. SO laid back; and in a very special way, feels like home. We contaced April (That One Place Owner) to get some details before we came down, she's such a loving 'people person', and it shows not just in her demeanor, but the genuine care & love imbued into the dishes she serves. Three days after our recon visit, my wife and returned on 10/19 to celebrate our 30th anniversary few days early. Steak (Ribeye) and Lobster is what we both ordered. THE BEST RIBEYE STEAKS we've had in Grants Pass, right here, and BY a WIDE MARGIN!!!! The Lobster was sweet, and the twice-baked potatoes were stupendously delish. Will we be back? ARE. YOU. KIDDING. ME. (??) MY wife told he she's quitting cooking on Sundays so we can come here. The patrons- good, salt of the earth, local folks who are very gregarious without being too much so- we had table o Casey was an attentive huge blessing serving at our table, we lacked for NOTHING. Jess behind the bar was awesome. My wife loved her Rogue Roasters Espresso Martini. Just over the top. And... April managed to come out of the kitchen so we could meet here in person- hugs for everyone. What a blessing she is, and she and her husband have an INCREDIBLE thing going here. DON'T MISS IT!!! The food they serve truly reflects not only the quality of the food itself, but more importantly the care and talent of the owners and kitchen staff. Celebrating a 30th wedding anniversary IN A PUB? Lol, with Steam Distillery & resident kitchen 'That One Place' serving the food they do, we wouldn't have it any other way. I'll post a pic of my wife's Shrimp tacos, and my Steak & lobster plate to get you salivating....it's the least I can do.
