I stopped By this adorable place Friday at 240pm (on a whim and 20 min prior to closing) and love the concept. A homemade pie is always much appreciated in my tummy any day. The place is on the corner of a busy intersection so Parking is in the back of the establishment. I love the mural in the back. Plenty of parking and easy to get in and out. Handicap friendly. Inside is nice and cool, very old school diner like and you immediately get greeted for help and the gal was super sweet and answered my questions despite being 15 min shy of closing the place. I was saddened by the pie shortage so this speaks volumes of this place already and totally understandable being close to closing. Banana cream and their weekly special, berry sugar cream was available alongside broccoli and veggie quiche for the savory. I got the berry and veggie and took it to go. I had the veggie quiche for supper. Yummy! It was chock full of fresh veggies. I,then, ate the berry cream for dessert and it was very good! I love the buttery crust (no artificial taste at all, they don't use shortening). The berries were fresh and the sugar cream was great. It reminded me of an Indiana sugar cream pie with berries on top. It took me back to my childhood days when my grandmother made a pie like this. Ahh! shucks, that impresses me because this is good pie, folks. Not store bought pie (no offense intended but hopefully you get what I'm saying here). I stopped in on a Thursday around 11AM. The mural on the back is so cute! The interior was clean and cozy. I might just stay in rather than taking away next time. I was surprised at the selection... and how much was already gone! Definitely come in earlier if you want the full menu to choose from. The lady I spoke with was friendly and happy to answer my questions and get things boxes up and labeled for me. I bought slices of both the sausage & potato and fancy ham & cheese quiches as well as a slice of apple pie and a brownie. Let me just say, I was hesitant about the quiches. I haven't liked them at all since my mother went through a quiche phase when I was in middle school. These quiches cured me of my distaste! They were both so good! And that crust... it was flakey with lovely buttery flavor. The apple pie was also stellar with, again, amazing crust that balanced perfectly. The brownie was fantastic, but I only gone two bites before my daughter shoved the rest in her face and gave me two thumbs up. And I tend to agree. Will definitely be back! read more

Tried our second pie today. On our first and only visit i bought 2 pies. Yesterday we tried the butterscotch cream and i wrote a review .. have to say none of us were impressed. We gave the other half away since we didnt like it. We all felt was lacking in flavor. Didnt taste like butterscotch. Today we tried the second pie and it was a world better. The chocolate pie was delightful rich and sweet. We all loved it. Based on this pie i would come here again to get the chocolate again and try something else ..another pie, quich, ect. In all fairness cant say either pie was better than that of mahaffeys in Dayton. read more

This is a great place to get pie in Dayton. I have been there a few times. Today we picked up 6 slices of pie. It is an excellent value with a whole pie discount in addition to the Frequent Pie-er club. The service is friendly and quick. The pies are delicious. It is hard to choose a favorite because they are all so good. I loved the banana cream pie and the peach pie. The Buckeye pie is exceptional and brings me back on Saturdays in the Fall. After multiple friends recommending this pie shop to me, I finally stopped in. I arrived around 930 and my selection seemed somewhat limited so I highly recommend going early in the morning if you want a full selection. Everything in the case looked delicious but I choose a piece of apple pie and a piece of the Classic Meat and Potatoes Quiche... The quiche was delightful! It was light and packed a lot of flavor!! I would definitely get it again!!! In fact, it makes me want to try all of their flavors. The herb crust was sooooo good! The apple pie has a nice topping that mixed well with the not overly sweet apples in the pie. I was pleasantly surprised that it was such ab even balanced filling! This place is awesome!! Been hearing such wonderful things about them so had to try. As USAToday said ...the best pie in Ohio. I never got to score a weekly special of Butterscotch. Next time I'll plan ahead and order one. The first time I went I followed a woman who was having a party that night and bought them out mid morning. Why didn't she order ahead? I was able to score several pieces...apple, berry and peach mango. Each better than the last. Since then I've had several others...all excellent. The key is getting there early, or ordering whole pies ahead of time. I was there yesterday at 11 and it was sparse pickings. If anything is left over they donate it to charity. And they use multiple local providers for ingredients. Follow their lead and buy local! And if you ever want to surprise me, my fave pie is mixed berry. Go early...go often. read more

We are so obbsessed with this place. First of all the pies are delicious, every single one of them. We didn't even think we liked fruit pies until we tried these. What makes them special is you could sit down and eat the fillings and crust completely separate from each other and they would both be equally good. I can't say that about any store bought pie. The filling is always over the top sweet and artificial tasting and the crust is bland. Partial to Pie's are perfect. The cream pies are decadent, they use real whipped cream, which makes a world of difference. My kids love the pie pockets because they warm up easily and are eaten without a fork. We all love the quiche with a savory version of their amazing crust. But if you think you're just running in to this place to grab a pie for dinner, you'll be suprised at how inviting the dining room is. I don't know if it's the mismatched vintage kitchen tables or the dishes straight out of my grandmother's 1980 pantry. But the idea of an establishment, devoted entirely to pies (okay, there are some brownies including gluten-free and baklava) and quiche seems genius. Even the beverages are simple: coffee, tea, or glasses of cold help-yourself water. Because seriously, when your pies are this good, you don't need to confuse people with a bunch of extra "fluff". But don't be lazy. People know about this place. I've never experienced a long wait but their selection will dwindle throughout the day and they may even close early because the are sold out. read more

Preface: My grandmother was an excellent pie maker, so my taste buds and expectations for pie are very high. I adore this shop. Marie and Mike (the owners) are a wonderful father/daughter duo that obviously love what they do because it shows in the quality of their product. I also appreciate how many local ingredients they use. Their staff is always nice, but, as an extrovert, I have to say I am partial to Laura (get it?) because she is always the most outgoing of the bunch. I have purchased several items, but my absolute favorites are the veggie quiche, ham quiche, the caramel apple pie pocket, and all their crumble pies, which are excellent and have the perfect balance of sweet. The first time I got the cherry crumble, (my #1 of the crumble bunch), I was nervous that it would be sickening sweet (how most are) but if anything, it was the opposite. A wonderful tartness leveled off with the crumb topping. Oh, la la!!! My dad who does not eat quiche loves PTP's quiche. I took the veggie and a slice of the chorizo home to him and was told that the next time I'm home I must bring the other options too. I also took a non-crumble apple pie home, at the same time. His reaction shocked me, as it was his mom, I referred to previously, so he grew up eating her pie almost daily. If he lived locally, I guarantee this would become his regular haunt. My only wish is that the cream pies were made with normal pie crust. They use a graham cracker crust which just makes the whole thing too sweet and a weird texture for my taste. My grandma always used regular crust, so this was a first for me. I know I'm the oddity about this because they sell out fast. If you haven't, you really, really must check them out. Of course I had to order two pieces. Don't judge. I at least started with piece one and THEN returned to the pie counter for my second slice.Their coffee is pretty decent too. This little local pie shop is just awesome. My husband and I went in first thing in the morning to buy a few pies for our offices, we got three total, two fruit pies and a quiche. We may have also gotten a brownie to split. First off, the customer service was outstanding, both of the owners (father and daughter) were there and helped us. They were kind, courteous and fast. Second, the shop looks great, they really cleaned up an old kind of run down building to be cute and so clean. The mix matched tables they have scream shabby chic sustainability as do thier mix matched coffee cups. Third, right on the back of thier menu they let you know what local businesses you are supporting by supporting them, because they use a vast majority of local vendors. If this makes it sound slightly expensive, it is a little more costly than a Kroger pie. But personally I like to vote using my dollars and I would rather pay more for an exceptional local product like this. That brings us to the good part, how was the pie? All three were amazing: The Meat and Potatoes quiche had a deliciously flakey crust, that was super flavorful, I'm not normally a crust fan give me the insides any day, but I will make an exception for this crust. The filling was creamy, flavorful and well seasoned, not at all over baked or tough. The Peach Mango crumble was FAT and who doesn't want a fat pie? It was gorgeously stuffed with filling that held together surprisingly well, piled into a crust that was well baked and flakey, topped with a sweet, cinnamony crumble that went with it so well. The Apple went to my husband's work, so here is what he had to say about it... "The cinnamon was well balanced actually and forward enough for me. Good bite to the apple, not too cooked down, they were really packed in there and held together. I lifted a whole piece out and it kept its shape, no ooze".
