Planning a princess party for my girls and found many princess related things here, including things for goody bags, decor and various other knick knacks of course! It's party city after all. It's a nicer version of a dollar store in my humble opinion. Thankfully I was able to sign up for text alerts and received 15% off my entire order. Date of visit: September 23, 2019 My friend and coworker's breast cancer awareness walk for the American Cancer Society is coming up next month, and I was inspired by my former band director (who did the Susan G. Komen walk with his wife a few years back) to wear something special for this year's event... a pink tutu. Since I'm also looking for a Mjolnir hammer for my Captain America cosplay, my lady suggested we kill two birds with one stone and head to Party City. As Halloween season is starting, the costumes and accessories are now beginning to be more prominently displayed on the sales floor. Unfortunately, while I couldn't find the Thor hammer (though it felt like almost everything else superhero related was on view), I did get the pink tutu on a small display dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness month. While the store itself was clean - for now, anyways; we went during a weekday and I have a feeling that weekends will get busier as Halloween approaches - it felt like it took a while for someone to ring me up. And I was the only person in line at the time! Still, a decent selection of costume pieces, so if you're stuck on costume or party ideas, Party City is the place to be. Thanks to Party City, it was very successful 13th birthday party for my daughter. They have everything if you want to plan your own parties. From "It's a Baby!" goods to "Happy 80th Birthday!" party goods. All kinds of different themes that you can imagine. Everyone was very helpful and cashier was friendly. I couldn't give better than 4 stars because balloons are way too expensive. I wanted to purchase 5 letter balloons but they were like $15 a piece. Almost $80 with tax! Candies and plates were way too expensive, too. Try to get candies at Costco or Sam's Club if you have memberships. Try Daiso for plates, too. read more

At first we did not think our balloons that we ordered were not going to be delivered on time and we had no way of picking them up. April, the lovely and kind store manager, as well as many staff we came across on the phone were professional, and provide expedited services. The day of our party, the delivery company misplaced our 12 plus balloons and flew away. We naturally panicked as it's the centerpiece of our outdoor party. It's no fault of the party city, as it's a subcontracted company. Yet, when I called, the store staff who answered my call immediately call supervisor/manager April. From the beginning, she offered options, and immediately offered to replace the order with no questions asked. For a panicked mom with 30 guests arriving, it's such a refreshing relief. She also did not hesitate to text me color option of balloons blown, so I can pick the right replacement color of balloons. In the end, she gave me extra balloons, extra balloon weight, AND SHE SAID SHE WILL PERSONALLY DELIVER THE ORDER. The entire experience was so heart warming, and perfect. Went there to pick up balloons just now. There were 2 ppl behind the counter. For a whole 5 minutes, they were busy blowing up balloons......apparently had a huge order, but would it hurt to greet the customers and let them know I'll be right there? Nope! Didn't even know had to pick my own balloons since it was my second time in this location ever. Once they acknowledge me, all they said was go wait in line..... the line with 9 people in Line.... Angeline I believe was her name... Line was pretty quick, but when We picked up the balloons once they were inflated, took us another 12-15 mins just to be acknowledged for the balloons, saw both of us, by then, there were 3 people in the area of service, then started talking amongst themselves, while a Line of 5-6 people have formed by them. All the while, no one was acknowledged to that extent until I popped back in the counter to ask if I can just grab my balloons.... 15 mins later.... the worst party City experience. Even LA stores were not that bad.... wow! Please fire these people and hire new employees! read more

I just had my sons 2nd birthday party (Mickey Mouse ClubHouse theme) and got a dozen latex ($10), two foil star balloons in blue and red ($1.99 each), one #2 balloon in gold ($9.99) and a Mickey Mouse walker balloon ($20). *Latex balloons are $1 each but they give you a $2 discount if you buy a dozen. I was also able to find some cute party hats with Mickey Mouse ears... They had a nicer selection for Baby's First Birthday where I was able to find very cute custom invites, pinata, decorations, and balloons last year but the older stuff is just not tasteful! * There are a lot of parties going on every weekend here so I know to always order in advance and pick up by 10 am party day.... read more

This Party City looks like it's going out of business. Half the store is empty & full of Halloween accessories. Some places are a little too early for Christmas but this place is way behind. There is nothing! Maybe they are short staffed?‍ Sadly the one simple thing I went in for they did not have. Black & White checkered table clothes? Doesn't seem so difficult to have in stock but as an associate said to me " Oh No we have NEVER carried those types of table clothes" I think she was 16! ‍ I believe I bought them there for my sons "Cars" themed birthday party 5 years ago. This location in Chino does NOT understand curbside pick up! I followed the instructions and waited 15 minutes. No one came to deliver items ordered. Called again and they said they couldn't find me outside the door. It's called CURBSIDE PICKUP for a reason! So I waited another 15 minutes and literally parked my car at the front of the store by the fire lane, when I was parked at the very first spot of the parking lot and I am the only white vehicle outside the store. 30 minutes for curbside pick up is just ridiculous! read more

Service staff was very helpful; I needed to order some balloons for a party and had to pick it up a day before, so I was worried that the helium would leak out of the latex balloons. The associate let me know that there was some coating thing(I forget what it's called now) that they can add for $0.15 more per balloon that helps keeps the helium locked in for at least 24 hours...it has now been 4 days and our latex balloons look like they were just inflated this morning...so thank you so much for that tip. The aisles are very clean and organized and as previously stated, the staff is very knowledgeable and can point you in the right direction if you need pointing. parking is easy, could be crowded getting in cuz it's like an outdoor mall with all the shops and resto's nearby, but once you're in the immediate area of Party City, parking is pretty open. read more

Went in to place a balloon order, I was greeted by an unenthusiastic employee, went to the balloon counter where manager and employee were blowing up balloons, waited 5 min. to be acknowledge, once that happened I was directed to cashier counter, were one person was being helped. Finally another 5 min. later unenthusiastic employee finally comes to help me. Tells me 36.50 for 15 balloons and 5 Mylar to be filled... WTF. Then to by a tank it was 32.99 for the small one. I paid the 36.50 and was very apprehensive about it... I literally felt like I had just been robbed. I went back inside to get my money back. I think I would have paid the 36.00 if they had better service. I ended up going to Target where I paid 24.99 for the same helium tank they were trying to sell for 32.99. read more

Went into the store to purchase 2 balloons and other items for a 1st birthday party. They said there was a 2 hour wait because they had other orders to fill. So the customer that is right in front you are are going to have wait. NOPE that customer left. Maybe you should have gotten to work a little earlier and got those orders out so you could wait on the walk ins. Might as well close the store at that point. We did leave and left about $200.00 worth of supplies on the counter. WRONG DECISION. I have no idea what I'm talking about? I have been in retail my whole life, 40 plus years. The prices at Party City are slightly over-priced, but you really can't beat the variety when it comes to gathering supplies for your party! They offer every color and lots of patterns when it comes to tablecovers, plates, cups, etc. Sometimes during checkout, you're given a coupon on your receipt, which gives some type of price break for your next shopping venture. read more

The employees should work on their customer relation skills. I needed to track someone down because I couldn't find an item. The item wasn't available in the store, but he recommended something else that wasn't close to what I needed. He walked away before I could ask other questions. The line to pay was horribly long. We used Party City to order our wedding invitations. We were looking for a classy and simple pocket invitation with a cardstock background and a few inserts cards for information. Lisa, our contact at the store, was very knowledgeable in all the different combinations of pocket and card colors, standard invitation verbiage and pricing of the many options. She was professional and helpful. However, when we received the invitations, there was 'some assembly required' which we weren't made aware of. All the background card stock had to be manually taped to the pocket. Although the invitations ended up looking beautiful, it took a significant amount of time between me, my wife and our friends to put together all the invitations. My advice to those looking for an invitation vendor, make sure you ask if they put the invitation together for you! read more

My review was the same as a lot of other reviews for Chino Hills. I walked into the store this week (after Halloween) there is like no one in there, even on Sunday in the afternoon. No staff walking around the store doing anything. By the time I gathered my purchases I walked to the register. Then a customer appeared and was one person ahead of me, but that's it, two of us, I'm in line, she was at the counter being waited on and it seemed like a return or something (it was taking a long time). I was in a hurry I needed to get home. A manager, comes from the back and doesn't make any eye contact with anyone, answers the phone, writes something down on a piece of paper, and then again, doesn't look at her associate at the register, doesn't look at me waiting anxiously, just looks down and walks in the back. For a vacant store on the weekend, she should have asked me if I needed help. Another sales associate appeared and logged on to the register and left. Still no one asked me anything and she left. The girl that rang me up was nice enough, but they always have like one register opened and you have to move all your stuff to the register they are on. I'm in retail, and if I have one register I will carry the stuff for the customer to the open register. I just found it very odd, very like lack of customer service. They don't smile, they don't welcome to their store. The girl that waited on me was nice enough, but I had to be the one that was proactive and draw her out. I doubt Party City cares, or the management cares obviously. I'm a retail manager and I found the whole experience very weird. read more
