TLDR: Dr. Parvez is excellent. The office is very inviting and comfortable. And his support staff is great too! The story: I found Dr. Parvez by random chance about four years ago. I have a lot of dental work anxiety tbh, so I avoid it like the plague. Well, I needed a root canal, and it was so unlike what I expected. I thought it would be painful, and I also don't like needles. But I barely felt the injection, and the process was so smooth! Also, Dr. Parvez is just super warm and kind. The office is very nice and relaxing, and there is a koi pond. It was just the right vibe, and while going to the dentist will always suck, this was literally a 10/10 for what the experience could be. Fast forward to 4 years later, and one of my very old fillings popped out. I actually went to a different dentist first, and they didn't even x-ray all of my teeth -- just the one side that was obviously damaged. And it felt so rushed, and the dentist was so cold and unfriendly. Her office felt like a mill, packed with patients, unhappy-looking staff, and everything was so rushed! Anyway, after that, I literally went through the process of switching insurance to one that is accepted by Dr. Parvez. But it was so worth it! I just had my second root canal, and it was just as smooth and great as the last time. I barely felt the needle, the procedure went very smoothly, and it was such a low-anxiety experience! Also, a shout out to the front staff who were really kind and the assistant (I don't know her name, but she has dark black hair.) who also helped me feel so relaxed. My anxiety was 0, which is just amazing to say about a dentist visit! Anyway, like I said, 10/10. read more

I initially called this office crying after my experience with the last dentist office. He didn't sugarcoat anything and told me my steps for obtaining dentures. I am in the extraction process now. I've so far had eight teeth extracted and it has been the most comfortable experience I've had so far. Dr Taylor and his staff are awesome. Made me comfortable with no pain walking out after the process. I'm getting more extracted this week. I will come back to update after the whole process has been completed. Dr Taylor is a great general dentist. He has a gentle manner, cares about the patient, won't make you feel bad about lapses in oral care and tries to make sure you are comfortable. He does his own cleanings, which is great if you suffer from a lot of tartar. Most importantly, unlike other dentists in San Leandro, he is not a scammer. He doesn't tell you that you need work that you really don't need, and he tries to help you find the most affordable options for care. For anyone considering this dentist, I recommend reading the one-star reviews and not basing your your decision to choose him as your dentist simply based on his high rating. I've been a patient here since 2018 and originally chose this dentist because of his good reviews. Until now, I never had a serious problem with him. He's generally friendly and personable. However, I had a very bad experience at my most recent visit. I came in for a routine checkup and cleaning because I was experiencing severe dental pain that had prevented me from sleeping for about a week. In the past, these visits included a full exam and cleaning, during which issues like lost fillings or tooth pain were addressed. This time, I was already in the chair and the exam was beginning when I was told that I "needed a deep cleaning" and was sent home without receiving the exam or routine cleaning. That determination is typically made after an exam, not in place of one. From my perspective, my appointment was cut short so the dentist could attend to another patient who had missed her appointment and was demanding to be seen. To make matters worse, I experienced a seizure in the office during this visit. While emergency services were called appropriately, the overall handling of my care left my dental issue unaddressed. Because of this experience, I will not be returning. It's a shame because I specifically waited for two days for the appointment despite the excruciating pain I was feeling. I could have just went to another dentist instead of waiting for him. Maybe some of the reviews that claim that he doesn't really value dentical patients are true. read more

Well I learned something from this experience. When you look up a dental office we always want to see how many good reviews they have but I never looked to see how many negative. If I would have realized that there was several complaints on the front desk receptionist named Raquel or Rachel I would have probably skipped this place. Yesterday I had the worst call from the receptionist ever. She must have been having a bad day and she sure showed it with the lack of professionalism, manners and kindness. The receptionist or the office attendant is the first face a customer when they enter an establishment. I can't believe after all these complaints that this woman is still employed with the company. Unfortunately I'm taking my business elsewhere because I don't deserve to be treated poorly. And I see this woman has a running record here on Yelp reviews if you look at the lowest ratings they're all based on her. I wonder how much business that this dentist has lost because of her. *Dr taylor did a root canal on me in 2022. *In October 2024 I had a routine teeth cleaning. *Dr taylor told me to go to the front after my cleaning to schedule an appointment to get a brand new crown on my tooth. The one that cost $2000. * made the appointment for December 2024. * got sick and had to reschedule the appointment for January 2025. * realize I had a lot of money in my healthcare plan so try to make the appointment before they went on break for Christmas. *Went to the office and upon further examination of my x-ray they said I had a failed root canal and referred me to endodontics . * Confused I asked why didn't they tell me in October 2024 during my cleaning that I had a failed root canal and why did they let me book an appointment to get the new crown that cost $2000? * Raquel, the extremely rude receptionist that loves to laugh in my face and over the phone, try to gaslight me saying that Dr taylor told me in October during my cleaning that I had a fail root canal. Why would they put a brand new crown on a failed root canal and schedule an appointment for that? These people let me go months without a referral to an endodontic to get this fixed and try to say it was my fault for not listening. It was never told to me. shame on you guys. They accept way too many patients. It's because they take Medi-Cal. if you are insured with Medi-Cal, go elsewhere !!!!! There are so many dentists in this area go anywhere else beware of this place. OK, so I literally just walked out of the dentist office from having a root canal done! A couple weeks ago when we set an appointment up for the root canal, he assured me that it wasn't going to hurt, but I don't trust nobody so I was terrified walking in to the dentist today BUT to my surprise, it DIDNT hurt at all. There was only one time where I felt a slight bit of pain that only lasted a half a second! The procedure lasted one hour. It could've went quicker, but I guess he had to go around some routes or something I don't really understand dental talk. Upon searching for a dentist in the area, I came across Dr. Parvez Taylor's dentist office. I scheduled my appointment 2 weeks prior and came in with no delay. The dental assistant called me into one of their rooms, sat me down on the chair, and Dr. Taylor came in to introduce himself. The xray took about 10 minutes and cleaning was 25 minutes. Throughout the entire cleaning process, Dr. Taylor asked how I was doing and if I was okay. That made me felt reassured that he cared how I was feeling in the moment, it was definitely a nice experience for me. At the end of the cleaning, he asked if I had any questions, which he answered immediately. Dr. Taylor was extremely nice, patient, and informative. First appointment with Taylor. The off is behind another dental office, and it was very clean and quiet inside. Receptionist was nice and helpful, I was called as soon as I finished my paperwork, and I made it in right at my appointment time. The other employees were very welcoming. They explained everything to me and while sitting in the chair, I enjoyed the fish pond in the back and it made me much more relaxed. I finally met the dentist and he was nice and detailed with me about what I needed and didn't need. Now, I will replace my primary dentist with Taylor. I will say this was a good experience and I became at ease once I had a conversation with receptionist about information I needed clarification on. Do not waste your time here. Booked a new patient appointment and told the lady over the phone I didn't have my dentical card because I had to order a new one but had my dentical #, gave it to her over the phone but when I came in and said they couldn't see me even though I had told her over the phone I didn't have it but had the card number and my ID. Offered no other solution yet when I called several other dentists they all said as long as they had the card number or my social security number they could run it through the system and pull up my insurance. The front desk lady didn't even offer to run my social, I had my driver's license to verify who I was and would have been fine with giving her my ssn if she had bothered to ask. I went here because I was worried I had three cavities. A couple days before I went to another place that said I had three little cavities, and my teeth weren't doing too good. That confused me because last time I came there, they said that my teeth were great, and this time when they said I had three cavities, they didn't check yet or anything, not even an x-ray. Then I came here because I heard good things about it and they told me that my teeth were doing great and that I didn't have any cavities. They made sure to do an x-ray to check my teeth. I was referred to this Dentist office through an event I attended where they were giving free checkups for kids. Despite being happy with where my children go, Ai decided to go for a second opinion and feel the vibe. The appointment was set and they do send you courtesy text reminders of the appointment prior to your visit. Our appointment was at 9am decided to arrive early to fill out paperwork and have them take copies of insurance cards etc. We got there at 8:35 and no one was there except the Dentist. On the door, had a sign saying "will return at 1pm"so I figured it stayed like that from Friday. We rang the doorbell and waited a few minutes when Dr. Taylor let us in and gave us the paperwork. I thought it was weird no receptionist nor anyone else to se up. We sat down and of course I have two girls ages 3 & 6 who did not feel comfortable with the environment. There was no cartoons on the monitor. No toy or kid area so this made them even more nervous of what to expect. I was filling out the forms when the receptionist decided to stroll in at 9:05 and she proceeded to hand me more paperwork. No good morning, no welcome to our clinic. I don't know if she had the case of the Monday blues but definitely not some one to have as first impression at the Dr's office. Once they got situated since the dental assistant arrived shy of 9am, they called my 3 yr old and stated I needed to wait outside. Not I guess this is a common practice for them but where we normally go, I'm there in the exam room watching the procedure and being told of concerns the dentist may be finding. When I left to join the rest of my family in the waiting room, I heard my lil one cry and the dentist assistant called out for me. As I could see my daughter was distraught and I decided to not proceed. The Dentist approach and was very friendly and I did tell him that I feel this office catered more to young adults/adults and it was nothing personal but I wanted my daughters to feel comfortable since they have always had a fear and hard time at the dentist. Finally when they feel comfortable and at ease to go to the dentist and I take them to another place where their fear returns. Maybe this is a good place to be seen and maybe came on an off day where the two employees were running late and/or lacking compassion/friendliness. read more

Doesn't provide requested service, the initial x-ray was completed and the Dentist looked around in mouth for less than 10 minutes, no floss, no scraping, no rinsing and said a cleaning was done. A tooth was pulled, no rinsing so after the shock wore off I went back to get a copy of the medical records and another persons medical records where included. An offer was made to redo the cleaning but trust was gone at that point. read more

The dentist has always been a tough place for me to go. I always put off making appointments when it is time to get my teeth cleaned... but everyone here is so comforting and welcoming. I had to find a new dentist and this was the first and only call I made to schedule a routine visit. The location was easy to get to via public transportation or you can walk from the San Leandro Bart if you are up to a nice stroll. The receptionist was polite, professional and welcoming upon entry into the office. She checked me in and gave me some paperwork. I was immediately called back, which was right on time for the appointment. I was seated by the dental hygienist and Dr. Taylor Parvez came over to introduce himself and let me know there were some xrays that needed to be completed, then he will evaluate and come back to speak with me. Exactly that was done and we found I needed a root canal. OM DOUBLE G. I've barley had 3 cavities and I didn't get those until I was 32 years old. I was extremely nervous but my tooth was hurting and Doctor Parvez was very reassuring that I would be more than fine and pain free during and after the procedure. Doctor Parvez was telling me the truth. Again, I came back for the root canal and was called back right on time for my appointment and was greeted by the smiling and polite hygienist and was numbed and felt ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. There was zero pain. 0%. I was shocked and ever so thankful. Doctor Parvez and his entire staff are a delight and who says this about going to the dentist. From the front desk to the hygienist and of course Doctor Parvez is a professional, clean, welcoming and efficiently ran office. I highly recommend calling them to schedule an appointment. No problems with my tooth and it's been about a month. I look forward to my teeth cleaning next year with Doctor Parvez. Ohhhhh yeah and bonus. 5 star experience - and here is why: More than a year ago I started having the worst pain I've ever experienced. I happened to be in my home country Finland and went to a dentist there because the pain felt like a tooth ache. A thorough exam with x-rays was performed and I was told that there's nothing wrong with my teeth. After that I saw two doctors who could not find a cause therefore an MRI was performed. The neurologist analysis was that nothing seemed abnormal and that diagnosis is "possible trigeminal neuralgia" and nothing can be done except prescribing very strong pain killers and hope that the pain eventually disappears which often happens in these cases. After my own research about Trigeminal neuralgia I came to a conclusion that my pain and pattern doesn't fit that diagnosis and since by that time I had returned to California I decided to go see another dentist because I didn't know what else to do and my pain was so intolerable that it made me think about an unthinkable option of ending my life. The closest dentist to me happened to be Dr. Parvez Taylor and I made an appointment. After the x-rays were taken it took dr. Taylor less than 5 minutes to conclude that there was a big cavity under one of the crowns and the nerve was exposed and that was the cause of the pain. I immediately made an appointment to see a specialist which was needed to have the tooth in question removed. As dr. Taylor had said the pain was gone when the tooth was removed. It has now been almost a year and the pain has not returned. Needless to say this changed my life - possibly even saved it. Since then dr. Taylor has performed 4 root canals and 4 crowns and I have absolutely nothing negative to say about those experiences either + his assistant Amber has also been amazing and professional every step of the way! I would and have recommended Dr. Parvez Taylor to anyone who listens and even those who don't! :-) read more

I was really looking forward to go to this dental office. I called about three weeks ago to set up my first appointment and they scheduled me for mid of August. I thought it was a long time to wait but could be worth it. Then on Thur or Fri they call me to re-schedule because the doctor wasn't able to see me that morning. I asked if he could see me anytime sooner and they said it was all full so I had to WAIT even more! I mean as a first time patient I would like to feel a little more appreciated than that! I understand that unexpected things happen but I waited more than two weeks for my appointment and my schedule is also very tight since it's my last week of vacations. My time is important too so it was very disappointing how little they care, my conclusion is... 1. If you're looking for a dental office and you're a new patient don't go here, they seem like they don't care. 2. If you still want to try them expect your appointment 2-3 weeks delays and possible call to re-schedule and wait longer. read more
