Here's my experience. 1) Service: There's a small parking lot on the upper level of this strip mall in McLean. Walk down the stairs into one-room spacious Chiang Mai Thai Cookhouse. Once inside, I was greeted by a hostess and seated at a table for two. Throughout my one-hour stay, I was checked in upon. My water glass was kept full, and the check came to my table in a timely manner. 2) Food: Hungry, I ordered the papaya salad, tom ka soup, and the mango and sticky rice for dessert. I also ordered the Thai iced tea. Every dish was a little different from other Thai restaurants across the country. The papaya in the salad was thicker and not as soaked in the flavors. The soup had large, cooked onion pieces in it. The rice in the dessert was a slight green color. The Thai iced tea was more subtle. Despite the uniqueness of each dish, I enjoyed each one. 3) Space: Decorations color the walls in the one-room dining room. Unisex restrooms are in the very back.

It's tucked inside a strip center behind a bank and next to two other (well rated apparently) restaurants with only a handful of seats, both indoors and outside. DO NOT let the appearance deter you from sitting dow and enjoying what will be an unbelieveanly good meal . We kept it simple - we started with the special fish dumplings (fish based dumpling around a pork/mushroom filling), the Yum Woon Sen and their house Drunken Shanghai noodles. My wife asked for mild, and j asked for medium on the spice levels The flavours were simply divine. The portions were perfectly sized in this era of gigantosaurus dishes and the service was helpful and friendly. The only possible negative comment was that my medium spicy was leaning toward the mild (ok - it was actually mild) side of the spectrum. That's certainly an issue that can be overcome - and is always better than falling on the other end of that spice spectrum where you risk having your face melt during the meal. We will definitely be back - and cannot wait to explore more of the menu!

Went over a few Saturdays ago a little before 2 PM. Semi-small spot, but it wasn't busy, so plenty of seats were available and I was basically able to sit anywhere. (I'll point out that while they do serve beer and wine here, there is no bar area or TVs in the restaurant.) This is one of those spots where you have to access the menu through your phone--no paper menus (unless maybe you ask). Not too much of a problem for me because I knew what I'd come for: the drunken noodles. Not much for vegetables mixed in with my meat, so I ordered the beef drunken noodles with no veggies (except for basil, which I left in) and scrambled egg. Ordered at spice level 4 (extra spicy); spice levels range from 0 (not spicy) to 5 (Thai spicy). I love spicy food, but I was warned by the waiter not to choose spice level 5 (LOL), so I went with 4 just to be safe. Don't know if it was because they weren't too busy, but the noodles came out blazingly fast--in less than 5 minutes! And the noodles were excellent too--honestly, up there with some of the best noodles I've ever had! At a spice level of 4, you could feel the spice, but it wasn't bad at all. I think spicy food lovers would be perfectly fine at 4 or even 5. The noodles were also well-portioned and fantastic. The base price for the noodles was around $14. While most protein add-ons are no extra charge, the beef option was an extra $2, and adding scrambled egg was another $2. With taxes, the price for my noodles came out to around $20, which wasn't bad at all considering my add-ons. Customer service was good--the waiter was nice, prompt, and informative about the menu (which honestly isn't the easiest to navigate online). Great experience overall, and I was in and out of the restaurant in less than 25 minutes. Enjoyed my meal so much that I came back a couple days later for their Monday-Friday lunch special, where you get a free appetizer (chicken soup, tofu soup, or crispy veggie dumplings at the spice level of your choice) with any entree. Ordered the beef drunken noodles and chicken soup, both at spice level 5. Both came out quickly and were excellent. Also tried the recommended Thai iced tea for the first time, which was also very good. No complaints about Kiin Imm Thai--I see why they're so highly rated here, and I'll definitely be returning as a regular. Only regret is living within walking distance of this spot for over 3 years and not being aware of it. In addition to this location in the Vienna area (close to the Dunn Loring Metro), I believe they also have a sister location of the same name in Rockville, Maryland. Highly recommend!

I have been to many Thai restaurants over the years and I think this is one of he best. The price is right and the service good and fast. They are very accommodating for special needs and will cook most food the way you want it. The food itself was above average for Thai food which is why I go back about once or twice per month. I also have had their carry-out when i did't want to wait. The only drawback is that their outdoor seating is adjacent to the parking lot so sometimes you get exhaust fumes in the summer. Definitely recommend. read more

Pasa Thai was fantastic. I had the crispy duck curry (mild) which was was the best I've ever had. Granted, I haven't had a ton of duck curries, but it was so delicious that I looked forward to eating the left overs the next day. The calamari were good, not as good as I'd hoped from the Washington Post review, but decent for appetizers. The martinis were okay, expensive for not much alcohol, but tasty. The waitstaff were attentive, we got our food quickly, and we left very happy customers. I hope to go back soon! read more

We are regular customers at Pasa Thai. The food is great. This past weekend, we ordered fried rice and it was much more salty than usual. We called and they quickly sent someone back with a new order (even though we said we didn't need it, they insisted) and also gave us a credit for future use. Great customer service. read more

It was my first time in this restaurant, to be honestly I was going another restaurant but it was closed because of Sunday, I came here around 08:30pm, but definitely recommend this restaurant. We shared an order of the steamed dumplings and a papaya salad to start and then we got a Pad Pak with tofu, which is a stirfry with veggies and in a garlic sauce and a Pad Kaprow with chicken, which is a stirfry with peppers in a chili basil sauce. I really wish there will be some longevity and another tasty option for folks. Bird's Eye Thai is promising so we decide to give em a shot. You can select different noodle and rice bowls and pick a grilled or fried chicken breast or thigh. Tofu is another protein option. The bowls are a bit pricey for fast food- approximately $16 and it gets up to almost $20 if you add the meal deal which includes a drink and spring rolls. 3 meals had us up to approximately $60...wow. So how about the taste? Yeah...it is pretty mid. It's not bad but it's not up to par with your better Thai restaurants. I hope the owners do a review and taste test as I think it could be better. The Drunken Khao Soi tastes like coconut milk but it doesn't say there is coconut in it. The Pad Thai is serviceable but just missing something. The chicken is nicely grilled I will say. Service is good. Quick and polite. I am not sure I will go back as the food is a bit pricey and not the best. You can go to a full service Thai joint and pay the same.
