TLDR: Quality cooking, generous sauces, and flavorful dishes. Just note that happy hour food deals require an alcohol purchase. Quality cooking with dishes that definitely don't skimp on the sauce! The service was mediocre, and the interior has a dark, old fashioned feel that shows its age a bit, but the food itself is quite good. If you get the panang curry with beef, I really liked that they used freshly sliced pieces of beef. The curry was missing a little spice for me, but grab the chili tray and add some peppers and it is chef's kiss paired with rice. The chicken satay comes loaded with peanut sauce, which I personally loved and would definitely recommend for peanut lovers. Finally, the fried rice was delicious! The individual grains of rice were nicely separated, the prawn was cooked perfectly, and the pork floss on top was a delightful touch. One thing to note is that the happy hour food items are only available if you also order alcohol. I was disappointed by this since I'm currently on medication and unable to drink, which we explained to our server but they still could not offer it. The atmosphere feels like you're transported into a cave by the beaches of Thailand -- iykyk. The dim lighting and overall vibe give it that tucked-away, coastal Thailand feel that makes the experience a bit more immersive. We ordered the kanom jeeb, crispy duck basil, and Pattaya noodles. The kanom jeeb (2/5) had a thin wonton skin with a generous meat filling and looks similar to siu mai if you're familiar with dim sum, but the dumplings themselves lacked flavor and really relied on the dipping sauce to carry the dish. The crispy duck basil (2/5) was flavorful and true to their spice level, but the batter made the duck a bit dry. The Pattaya noodles (3/5) claim to be topped with jumbo crab meat, though it was more of a light sprinkle. I was pleasantly surprised with the food here. I spent the weekend out Tyson's corner and was craving some Thai so I gave this spot a shot. I ordered ahead through the door dash app and everything was ready when I arrived at the restaurant. The shrimp cakes were minced shrimp meat with some type of breading that reminded me of a hush puppy. They packed so much flavor and came with a house made plum sauce that was delicious. The fried rice was also very tasty, even though the cuts of meat they use were a little tough. The service is fantastic. My friend and I came during prime dinner time on a Thursday and were able to be seated right away. I got the Pad Cashew with chicken and it was in such a nice light sauce that was not overly sweet. The chicken was tender and moist. The food taste (we ordered loads of beverage, appetisers, entrée, side dishes), a combination of vegetarian and non vegetarian items, was very average, especially that of the vegetarian food. I was much looking forward to ordering the vegetarian Tom Yum; since our server mentioned that it would contain fish paste ( I asked if she could re-check with the chef, but she mentioned that she was "almost certain of the fish paste"), so I ended up ordering the veggie soup (which unfortunately turned out as pretty flavourless). Also ordered my usually fav Pad Thai (requested for lite oil). That disappointed just as much as it too was bland and mostly comprising of uncooked vegetables & salad than being the traditionally flavourfully done Pad Thai dish. Not too great an experience over all, including that of the guests we invited. We were not satisfied with the quality of the service; food quality & the flavours, it was all quite unexpected, especially since we had reserved the restaurant after reading nice reviews. This is a great spot to stop for dinner. It is near all of the major hotel chains, so it's very easy to walk to for out of town guests, but was actually recommended to me by a local. The drinks were delicious, if a bit on the sweet side for me. I ordered the Zombie cocktail which mostly tasted like juice. My friends ordered the Lycheetini which they loved and also agreed was on the sweet side. Our waitress was polite and helpful, and we didn't have to wait long for our food. The restaurant is clean and well-decorated, and we found it very pleasant. The food is great and the servings are massive. The three of us probably could have shared an entree with an appetizer. Neisha is a favorite restaurant in Tyson's for my family. The restaurant is conveniently located, with ample free parking in a garage. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with lots of seating. The food is really good! We were a larger group, so I got to try several dishes. I particularly enjoyed the papaya salad, fried tilapia filet (with sweet and sour sauce, and garlic chili sauce), and pineapple fried rice. I don't eat meat, but my family also enjoyed the crispy duck and panang curry with chicken. The portions are generous - I think everything but the curry would serve 2 people. My friend and I got dinner at Neisha last Friday. We would recommend parking in the structure in the same building as the restaurant instead of the outside lot that's farther and incredibly full/busy. We didn't make a reservation (don't think there's an online option to) and had no issues walking in without one. CRISPY DUCK BASIL - 17.95 The pieces of duck were thin and there was more breading (which was hard and dense, rather than crispy and airy) than there was meat. We could barely taste the meat, so it really didn't matter if it was duck or not. Some pieces had all breading and essentially no meat. Most pieces were drenched with way too much Thai basil sauce, which made it overwhelmingly salty. CRYING TIGER STEAK - 19.95 Each order comes with a plate of steak, some veggies, a dipping sauce with spices and herbs, and sticky rice. The steak on its own had a slight marinated sweetness, but it was nothing unique. If anything, it was a bit overcooked. With the dipping sauce, it enhanced it with its savory and citrusy flavors. The sticky rice was a bit uneven where some bites were harder and clumpier than others. The steamed vegetables were bland, but they did the job of being vegetables. The service was good, with different servers checking in on us to ask if we enjoyed the food and/or needed more water. Overall, food was just OK. There's better Thai restaurants in the area that I'd rather go to for future Thai cravings. read more

The tables were a little sticky and although it might have been elegant at some point you can tell it isn't that elegant anymore. We went to Neisha on a Thursday and had a very plesant experience. The service is polite and attentive. The interior is elegant and beautiful with a fountain and tasteful seasonal decor. It is the kind of place you can take a client or a special someone for a treat, to impress, or just have a quiet private conversation. The food was a cut above most Thai restaurants. We started with appetizers: nua num tok was slightly tangy, flavorful strips of lean beef which we really enjoyed. We also had pork dumplings which were surprisingly delicious. For entrees we had the crispy whole fish which came with a slighty sweet and tangy sauce. The presentation was eye-catching and the fish was crunchy in parts which I really liked. The sauce was delightful and complimented the fish well m. The passion beef was excellent. It had large chunks of hearty stringy beef that were cooked soft like you find in stews. The raw ginger on top is a must for perfectly balancing out the robust flavors of the beef. The least of our dishes for me was the pad prik khing with duck only because the duck is slightly oily and not my favorite kind of meat for such a dish. We decided to go all in and have dessert as well and with zero regrets! The mango sticky rice was good but the fried banana paired with the house-made coconut ice cream was out of this world!! The entire evening was a thoroughly pleasant experience. However, days later, what stays with me and makes me want to return for badly, is the coconut ice cream. It was not too sweet, with heavenly toasted coconut strands weaved in throughout! This dessert on its own makes this restaurant worth a visit! read more

My friend got a Tom Ka soup, I tasted it, and it was so heavenly! The next time I come back, I will definitely be getting that soup. My other friends got the Neisha Tempura, she said there were much more fried vegetables than fried shrimp. I am absolutely disgusted and appalled by the treatment my mother and I received at Neisha Thai. We arrived at 2PM to a restaurant full of empty tables and were seated directly in front of the restroom. When I questioned this, we were flatly told every other table was reserved. That was a LIE -- because after I asked again, we were magically moved. Not reserved after all. What a joke. I calmly and respectfully approached the so-called "manager" Pep to ask for a simple explanation and a basic apology. What did I get? ZERO accountability, zero remorse, and then -- completely unprovoked -- she had the audacity to tell me to "GO TO THE HELL." I never once raised my voice. This is beyond unacceptable. This is humiliating, degrading, and frankly discriminatory treatment toward paying customers. Neisha Thai, you have lost a loyal customer forever. I came here in a party of 6 for Father's Day with a reservation and we were seated immediately. The decor and ambiance create an elevated experience of Thai cuisine. Great for special occasions! For appetizers, we ordered the Neisha tempura, satay, and papaya salad. The tempura had a nice crunch and came with a sweet & sour dipping sauce. The satay skewers sat on a bed of savory peanut sauce that paired so well with each other. The papaya salad had a very slight kick with all the complex sweet/sour/savory flavors in the dressing. For entrees, I would recommend the crying tiger steak, which was very flavorful and tender. The mussamun curry and pattaya noodle were both delicious! The pad see eaw wasn't as flavorful as I've had at other restaurants and didn't have that nice char flavor that I usually love about the dish. They finished the night off with dessert on the house for us since it was Father's Day. The dessert soup had rice cake, taro, and sweet potato in a sweet coconut sauce (couldn't find it on the menu). My favorite Thai restaurant in Tyson's! I've tried a dozen places in McLean and Vienna and always go back to Neisha! Great options for vegetarians and meat-lovers with generous portion sizes. My go-to dish is the Tofu Panang curry (both the soft and the fried tofu are good!) with broccoli. The curry very flavorful and not greasy or too thick. The consistency is just right. Along with the Panang veggie curry, the drunken noodles with tofu is tasty. The noodles are a bit spicy and the tofu helps to absorb it, while the curry is a bit more mild. In terms of spiciness, the food is prepared light/medium spicy. If you are really looking for a kick, ask for 2 peppers otherwise ask for mild, which is what I usually do! The service is great. One time, the restaurant mistakenly made an extra order of Penang Curry for my carry-out order and didn't charge me for the extra order, but just let me keep it and don't like to waste food - which I wholeheartedly agree with! The service is phenomenal! They are very attentive. There is a nice selection on the menu. For some, it may be overwhelming but for me it was perfect. I had the Salmon wrapped in banana leaves. Unfortunately, this visit was extremely disappointing. The service was poor from the start. Our server had a constant attitude and made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.
