Getting that biennial obligation out of the way early this year! Gotta love how much it costs to own a car around here. Anyway, first time I've been to this place for a smog check. I came around noon on a Tuesday. There was no one else in line for a smog check. I drove my car in from the side street entrance. Handed over the key. And it was done in 10 minutes! I didn't even have to ask for the discount, the lady just gave it to me and I paid the $40 in cash. Easy. read more

Love these Guys. First ones to notice my 2007 Vibe's VIN number was wrong on my car registration, that was in 2017! Sure it was a pain going to DMV but I would've never got my car back otherwise if stollen. 10 yrs of other people checking it and never saying Boo!!! Quick Smog. Passed every time. Love this place. I've taken my car several times for smog checks over the past few years and I find the business to be very efficient as well as being very friendly. I came here on a Thursday afternoon to get a smog check. As I drove up, I was approached in a friendly manner and they got started right away. Even with two other cars there, they were done with my smog check in 15 mins. They told me about the yelp discount so it only cost $40 cash. My car passed the test and they electronically sent the pass confirmation to the DMV for me. All I had to do was send in my registration after that. Also, the place is small but clean. It seems to be a family operation and everyone worked efficiently. It was very easy and I would highly recommend them! read more

We have been coming here for the past several years for our test only as well as full synthetic oil changes. This is a great local business that truly cares about their customers and deserves your support. They are sincerely friendly and fast, you don't need an appointment, each time we have gone there we have generally been in and out in just a few minutes . Came in at about 4PM on a Tuesday evening without an appointment for an oil change -- my father typically does this for me when I have the chance to make the drive home to the Bay area but that wasn't going to happen relatively soon and car was due for it. Alen greeted me and let me know he was expecting a client who had a 4 o'clock appointment already and that he would take care of me if they didn't show soon. Sure enough the appointment came by about 15 minutes later, so he let me know he could get to me in 20-25 mins if I wanted to wait or come back. Wasn't in a rush to go anywhere so came back in the time frame he gave me and he was just finishing up with the appointment client right on time, which I appreciated because of the accuracy of the wait estimate and it shows he knows exactly how long it takes him for each service. Alen got to work on my car, and in the middle of it somebody came by for a smog check as well and he was able to bounce between my car and their quick check efficiently and had them out in maybe 10 mins. While finishing up with my oil change he noticed there was a missing bolt that keeps the splash shield under the car in place (which I remember my dad mentioning last time he changed my oil, but he didnt have anything to secure it) and he quickly dug through his bin of bolts to find one big enough to secure it when he could have definitely said fuck it and left it since it was already missing. He had also showed me that he put in a new oil filter for me as well, and the cherry on top was I saw him quietly top off my windshield wiper fluid without saying anything. Amazing attention to detail, knows what he's doing, honest job, and only charged for the oil change service and that is how you get a lifetime customer under your belt. Confident in saying I can trust Alen to do as good a job as my father does and will most definitely be back when I can't make the trip to my pops. read more

I received a little note from the State of California the other day. The state rarely sends out notes to just say hi so I was a little concerned. Turns out they wanted me to remember to keep my carbon footprint in mind as I re-registered me car this year so I needed to find a place for a smog check. I searched the area and found that Pasadena Test Only and Smog Check on Walnut was highly rated. Time to check this out for myself. Upon arrival I was warmly greeted in an appropriate socially distant manner. The testing bay was extremely clean. As I waited outside, the testing was immediately performed and completed within 10 minutes. My car passed the test without even studying. I'm so proud! The data was electronically transmitted to the DMV while I was there so that all I had to do was pay the DMV their fee to complete my registration. Everything went very smoothly with superior service and the approach felt very Covid safe. I'm one of those people that procrastinates. I know. It's a problem, especially when it comes to taxes, going to the restroom, and getting smog checked so I can renew my car registration. Fortunately, Pasadena Test Only and Smog Check had my back. I was in and out in about 10 minutes. It was that fast. There wasn't enough time to re-pair my AirPods to my phone and start watching something on Netflix. They'll take card, but there was a discount for cash. If you need to get a smog check (including STAR smog check), definitely take your car here for a honest test by Alen. He offers $20 off or a free retest. I took my car here for a 2nd opinion after being failed for the smog visual test part by Arcadia Mobile Center smog check on the corner of Baldwin Ave and Duarte Rd in Arcadia, which I later found are dishonest crooks. (I should've read the reviews since that place had horrible reviews.) Alen explained to me that since my car had recently been serviced, the monitors are blinking on his machine, which means the car needs to be driven around more before it can be tested. He said to come back after driving around 50 miles so the monitors can reset. He didn't charge me anything though he had already hooked up the machine to the car. I was very grateful for his honesty. The place I had went to earlier failed to tell me about the monitors and proceeded with the test fully knowing that my car wouldn't pass because the monitors are not ready to be tested. Then the place in Arcadia had the audacity to tell me that my car needed $100 worth of repairs that I must get with them in order to get a courtesy free retest! Luckily, I found Pasadena Test Only & Smog Check on Yelp so I was able to get a reliable honest 2nd opinion from Alen. My car passed the smog check today without any repairs needed. I'm so happy I found a honest smog check place I can trust. I will definitely come here for my future smog tests. Highly recommended!!! read more

For a dealership located in Pasadena, where customers have many choices--including luxury brands at comparable price points--I expected a stronger commitment to building long-term customer relationships. Instead, I found the service experience disappointing. I was quoted $80 for a routine tire rotation, with the cost justified by inspections that are already part of normal maintenance. Those inspections are visual. The dealership provides only a one-way Uber rather than a shuttle service, and after service the vehicle was returned without even a basic wash or the windows being cleaned. None of these issues alone would have caused me to leave. Together, however, they communicate that customer loyalty and future business are not a priority. I don't expect special treatment. I do expect fair pricing, transparency, and a service experience that reflects the value of the vehicle and the importance of retaining loyal customers. The Crown has been an outstanding automobile. Unfortunately, the dealership experience has not matched the quality of the product, and I will be taking my future business elsewhere.

Nevertheless, Matt, if it's his real name, severely damaged my new wheel near the wheel center cap area with the machine that was made to avoid this. How incompetent!!! He lied to my face and gave dull, illogical, dummy excuses about what happened. Bottom line: He damaged the wheel and would not acknowledge and take accountability for his actions. I had to call the police to make a record of this issue because I will be suing. The damage was caused because he did not apply the machine's plastic adapter when he clamped onto the face of the wheel; he clamped to the face of the wheel with metal to metal contact and severely damaged the paint. I was charged $688 for a muffler and 2.25 straight pipe install. I was told that the muffler was a…read more50 series Flow Master for $180. After I pickup my supra I noticed the exhaust sound wasn't consistent which Flow Master and lifted the car to discover a generic no brand muffler and very poor welded job. When I confronted Omar, he said that despite my muffler not saying it was a Flow Master. I called Flowmaster the company to confirm, and they let me know they do not create Flowmaster mufflers without the Flowmaster brand emblem. Advance Muffler also had installed a 'magma flow" muffler on my son's Acura Integra a few months back so I also lifted his car to find that his muffler was also generic with no brand markings. I spoke to Omar about the situation and he refunded my Supra install and stated he is not a muffler guy and didn't know. I believe this shop often claims to sell you brand name mufflers, like Flowmaster at a premium price and installs generic no name mufflers not expecting customers to ever check.
