Thank you Yelpers for your honesty, and accurate description of this place. Alan rocks! He is kind, polite, and really knows what he is doing. The place is clean, and I mean clean. Even the floors were shiny! The bathroom was clean, he had comfy Ikea reclining chairs in the waiting area, coffee and snacks, plus Time magazine, and Cosmo. Say what? If you need a smog check, THIS is definitely the place to go! I've been to other places in the past but from now on, I will be going to this one. Let's face it, next to getting service for your car done promptly and professionally, another major thing you look at is how well you were treated. I know won't find better service than here! Got my smog check done in a matter of minutes accompanied with excellent customer service! As I paid the bill, it seems the credit card machine had been down for hours. Alen hands me my receipt and says that I can just come back tomorrow or following day when it's convenient to make the payment since the machine was down. I'm not sure of any other place that would be as nice to customers like that. Other places would have probably diligently ask for cash. I simply went to Vons next door, took out money, and drove back to pay Alen. Alen is very courteous and friendly at most. From the moment I drove my car in, he was there to greet me and then politely showed me into the waiting area - nice, clean, air conditioned room. And upon leaving, he was there to guide me in turning my car around and made sure I could drive off ok (since I had to come back and he didn't have the chance then to turn my car around for me) He even hands me an air freshener for my car. Very nice :) I read all the reviews prior to going to Alen's. I was hoping everything that was said was true but at minimum, I'd actually just be happy to get the smog check done. But my experience surpassed my expectations and can definitely vouch for that great customer service that everyone talked of! Now I don't have to dread having to go get a smog check done. Alen is a trustworthy business-owner and a very knowledgeable technician! I came across this place before registering my car, and I don't regret my experience with Alen. After reading the reviews and even calling other smog test shops around the local Pasadena area, I found myself pulling my car into his garage with no one else in line. I felt very comfortable having his only attention as he quickly performed the tests with his computers that were technologically up to date. We talked about various topics and in no time my smog test passed. Later, I also learned he does oil changes. I hated going to popular pit stops because they charge ridiculously and fill fluids improperly. Since my car is lowered a bit, it's been hard for me to trust oil services, so I began buying my own oil and oil filters. Alen happily changed them while showing exactly how much oil show be put in my car for proper maintenance.
